Adventages AND Disadvantages OF Smartphone
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SMARTPHONE 1/ Advantages
a) Connect and communicate easily:
In the past with phones like the divine 1200 and 1208 of Nokia, you could
only text with monotonous characters and boring sounds. Nowadays, with a
smartphone in hand, whether you are at any time or anywhere, with just a
few taps you have countless options to connect with loved ones, from video
conversations, sending text messages with pictures, to instant chat and
lively on online chat, simply updating status/image on Facebook, ... b) Pay online quickly:
Up to now, in Vietnam, money has mainly been collected in forms such as
paying via bank account or paying on the spot in cash. However, mobile
payment is a new trend that is gradually becoming popular today. Users just
need to hold their phone and swipe it across payment machines, pay
through an intermediary electronic payment application or text the
switchboard to quickly get the payment code. c) Accurate positioning
The phone is also equipped with a global GPS positioning feature to help
you find your way easily without needing the help of others. This function
not only helps you not get lost, but also sets the route closest to the place
you need to go, easily find the place you want to go. In addition, you can
also look for the locations of convenience stores, restaurants, tourist
attractions, entertainment, ... easily when traveling or going to a new city
d) Learn and work effectively remotely
Smartphones are also equipped with some basic functions such as laptops,
computers,... so you can study and work remotely such as text editing,
dictionary lookup, online video calling or meetings, looking up information

Adventages AND Disadvantages OF Smartphone
e) Relaxation, entertainment
With just a smartphone, you can be provided with many great
entertainment options, for instant: watch movies, read books, surf the web,
play games,… Entertainment on the phone helps users save maximum
travel time. No matter where you are, no matter what you're doing, you can
be entertained with a smartphone in your hand. 2/ Disadvantages
a) Reduces learning outcomes: -
Nowadays, many children bring phones to class so as to chat with
friends or play games during class. This leads to children not paying
attention in class, missing important lessons and consequently being
ignorant about studying and taking exams. -
Children can stay up late to talk with friends, play games or scroll
through social networks, which will cause fatigue and restlessness,...
affecting the quality of learning.
b) Passive communication:
Phone use can reduce or replace person-to-person interaction. We are
witnessing a decrease in the time and quality of human interaction as
people increasingly spend more time using technology. Meanwhile,
collaboration and interaction skills are one of the five most important
skills for workers in this era.
c) Risk of brain cancer:
The World Health Organization (WHO) has emphasized that: "Mobile
phone radiation can cause cancer in humans." It is worth mentioning
that children are able to absorb more than 60% of that radiation into the
brain (more than adults). A baby's skin, tissue and bones absorb twice as
much radiation as an adult. about:blank 2/3 16:26 9/8/24
Adventages AND Disadvantages OF Smartphone
d) Poor eyesight, eye diseases: -
Surfing social networks, texting, playing games, watching movies...
are common hobbies of young people when using smartphones.
However, smartphones can make young people sit still for hours and
forget about social activities or direct communication with people around them. -
If this condition persists for a long time, it can seriously damage the
"window to the soul" of nearsighted people. Many young people,
when meeting each other, often prefer to stare at their phones rather
than talk in person. According to research by the World Health
Organization, just using technology devices for 3 hours/day will
increase the risk of eye diseases, especially screen vision syndrome,
causing blurred vision, fatigue, dryness, lack of concentration,
susceptible to increased myopia.
My group has prepare a very interesting game, could you like to play
