What do you mean? Did it blow up or something? No,
nothing like that. It's just not a planet anymore. It's a dwarf
planet. A mini planet. Now, who decided that? A group of
scientists, about 2500 of them, had a meeting in Prague. I
don't understand. How can a group of scientists just decide
that a planet isn't a planet anymore? Well, it seems there
was a lot of arguing among the scientists as well. But it
says they finally reached a mutual agreement. A planet,
should one, be in orbit around the sun. Two, it must be
large enough to be a nearly round shape. Lastly, its orbit
must keep clear of other objects. Pluto is in orbit around
the sun, but its path overlaps with that of Neptune. So
that's one reason why it can't be a planet. Another reason
is Pluto's size. Since the early 1990s, scientists have
discovered several objects that are about the same size as
Pluto. Also, in 2003, they discovered an object now called
2003 Ub three one three. This is even bigger than Pluto.
The problem is, if Pluto is kept as a planet, then 2003 Ub
three one three and all the other objects could also be
planets. Therefore, the scientists have decided to group
Pluto and some of the other objects together as dwarf
planets. Hmm, I see. Then there are only eight planets
now. That's right. Mercury, Venus, earth, Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Listen to a lecture about a park. Welcome to Greenvale
Agricultural park. As you know, we've only been open a
week, so you're amongst our first visitors. We have lots of
fascinating indoor and outdoor exhibits on our huge
complex, spreading hundreds of hectares. Our remit is to
give educational opportunities to the wider public, as well
as to offer research sites for a wide variety of agriculturists
and other scientists. You can see for yourself what a huge
area the park covers and a key question is always how can
we move around? Well, you have a choice of means. All
environmentally friendly cars are banned in the park. We
have bicycles which you can hire behind the reception
block. Here the healthy ones of you can go on foot. And
finally, there's our electric tram, powered from solar cells.

A good place to start on your tour is the rare breed section.
We keep goats, sheep and hens and other kinds of poultry.
We're also thinking of bringing in cows and horses, but we
do not as yet have facilities for these bigger animals. The
animals are fed in public twice a day and a short lecture
given on their feeding habits and nutritional needs. These
are very popular with the public. But of course, you mustn't
lose sight of the main purpose of having this section. Not
as such to preserve rare animals, but to maintain the
diversity of breeds to broaden the gene pool for
agricultural development. Greenvale changes with the
seasons, with different events happening at different times
of the year. May will be perhaps our most spectacular
month with the arrival of the Canada geese and when our

diver. My name is Ray Garrett, and I'm a professional deep
sea diver. Let me explain how I came to be working in this
profession. When I left school, I got a job in a lawyer's
office, and by the time I was 25, I'd worked my way up to
the position of office manager. I was good at my job, and it
never occurred to me to leave or do something else. When
our company was bought out and the local office closed, I
started thinking about other jobs. I'd always been
interested in scuba diving as a hobby, and just about that
time, I saw an advert in a magazine. A company was
looking for people to train as divers, so I put my name
down for the training. My mother wasn't at all keen. In fact,
she and my dad didn't believe I'd last out the three
months. Training scuba diving doesn't take great physical
strength or unusual exercise tolerance. All it takes is the
desire, plus some basic classroom and inwater training. My
parents were concerned about my safety, and I tried to
explain that with the basic scuba equipment, a qualified
diver can safely remain underwater for anywhere from a
few minutes to over 2 hours. Most of the work I do now isn't
very dangerous or very exciting. My job involves working
on ships that have to be repaired, so we're not even very
deep underwater. Working underwater can be dangerous,
especially if we do need to go right down to the seabed,
perhaps to do some work on a shipwreck. People have
accidents when they stop thinking about the dangers
facing them in their job, and I never do that. I always
remember that diving can be dangerous. I'm aware of the
potential hazards, and I never exceed the time limit of my
dives, which depends on various parameters, like depth,
rate of air consumption, and the profile of any dives I've
done in the previous six to 12 hours. At the moment, we're

the coast of America, examining a ship on the seabed that
sank almost 150 years ago. The ship is the SS Union, and
