Read the passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best
answer to each of the following questions from 23 to 30.
As we continue to face the impacts of climate change, having a green environment has become
increasingly important to the future of our society. To achieve this, the world is shifting towards
green energy, and two particular types of energy at the centre of this movement are solar power
and wind power.
Solar power is all about harnessing the energy of the sun by using solar panels to convert
sunlight into usable electricity. This highly efficient form of energy produces zero emissions, so
it can significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Moreover, solar panels are perfect for
installation on a small scale, such as in private homes, since they require very little maintenance
and have a long lifespan. However, the ability to generate solar power depends on the time of
day and weather conditions. This means that solar panels are often less useful if they are
installed in places where sunny weather is not typical.
Wind power, on the other hand, involves converting the energy of the wind into electricity using
large turbines. Wind power doesn't produce any greenhouse gases, but it is not ideal for private
use since turbines require consistent care. However, wind farms can be installed on a large scale
and are able to produce electricity continuously regardless of the time of day. This means that if
there were more investments in wind power, it could be a viable way to provide energy for
major cities and even for whole regions.
Wind and solar power contribute significantly to a green environment by reducing our reliance
on fossil fuels, helping us cut down on pollution and slow climate change. Additionally, using
renewable energy sources helps promote spending on sustainable development by creating new
career opportunities in the green energy sector.
For now, the biggest challenge of adopting green energy is the costs associated with installation
and infrastructure, but the benefits unquestionably outweigh the downsides. If we want to stop
the climate crisis and create a better and more sustainable future, green energy sources will
undoubtedly be the key.

C. In spite of the wind farms being installed everywhere, it is impossible for the electricity to
be produced a lot every single minute.
D. However, farms can install their farm with wind facilities on a large scale and are able to

[III]threatening biodiversity and contributing to environmental degradation. Furthermore, [IV].
Trang 6
As a result, many urban residents find themselves living in informal settlements or slums, where
basic needs are not met.
On the other hand, urbanization also creates opportunities for innovation and growth. Cities
are centers of economic activity, technological advancement, and cultural exchange. The
concentration of resources and human capital can lead to the development of groundbreaking
solutions for societal challenges. Smart cities, which use technology to improve urban living, are
becoming more common. Additionally, urbanization encourages the development of sustainable
practices, such as green architecture and energy-efficient transportation systems.
In conclusion, urbanization is a complex and multifaceted process that requires a balance

Green living is a lifestyle that prioritizes sustainability and environmental consciousness. It
encompasses a range of practices aimed at reducing one’s ecological footprint and promoting a
harmonious coexistence with nature. Individuals who embrace green living make conscious
choices in various aspects of their lives to minimize waste, conserve resources, and promote a
healthier planet.
One facet of green living involves adopting eco-friendly habits at home. This includes
implementing energy-efficient measures such as using LED light bulbs, insulating homes, and
investing in renewable energy sources like solar panels. Additionally, practicing responsible
waste management by recycling, composting, and reducing single-use plastics is crucial in
minimizing landfill waste and preserving natural resources.
Green living extends beyond the confines of one’s home. People committed to this lifestyle
opt for sustainable transportation methods, such as biking, walking, or using public transportation
whenever possible. They also support local and organic food options, reducing their carbon
footprint by consuming food produced with minimal pesticide use and transportation emissions.
By embracing green living, individuals contribute to the collective effort to combat climate

Read the passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the best
answer to each of the following questions from 31 to 40.
[I] Over the past few years, working from home has become very popular all over the world.
[II] An increasing number of companies allow employees to work from home at least one or wo
days a week. [III] While working from home can come with many benefits, there are also some
drawbacks to consider. [IV] The most common advantage is that it doesn't involve any
commute to work. Many people spend more than 30 minutes each way travelling to their
workplace and often have to deal with train delays or traffic jams during rush hour. Long daily
commuting is also linked with increased levels of stress and anxiety. Therefore, people save time
for getting extra sleep or eating a healthy breakfast if they work from home. Furthermore,
working from home offers greater flexibility, which means employees can choose when to start
and finish their working day as long as they complete all tasks on time and meet the deadlines.
By having control over work schedules, people can attend to personal matters and achieve better
work-life balance. For example, working mothers can take care of their children or adult learners
can fit classes into their busy life.
However, working from home is not suitable for everyone. Some employees may feel
isolated and lonely when they don't have much contact with their colleagues and organisation as a
whole. They may miss the social interaction and creative atmosphere in the workplace. They may
also prefer face-to-face supervision and meetings with managers or colleagues. Therefore, it
would be difficult for these employees to complete their work on their own at home. In addition,
when people work from home, they may find it hard to avoid distractions such as screaming
children, dogs barking, or household chores. Even if they have a dedicated workspace in their
home, it may not be easy for them to stay focused on their work, be efficient, and meet targets.

Hygiene has played a vital role in human civilization throughout history. Ancient civilizations,
such as the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, were among the first to recognize the importance
of clealiness for health. They practiced bathing and used natural oils to maintain personal
hygiene. The Romans even built elaborate public bathhouses, which became social centers for
relaxation and sanitation. These early efforts showed an understanding that hygiene was
linked to overall well-being.
During the Middle Ages, however attitudes towards hygiene changed significantly. The spread
of diseases like the Black Death led people to believe that bathing could make them more
vulnerable to infections. As a result, frequent bathing became rare, and cleanliness was not
prioritized. Many people relied on strong perfumes to cover body odor, while poor waste
management in cities created unsanitary conditions. This lack of hygiene contributed to
widespread illness and high mortality rates.
The 19
th
century marked a turning point in the understanding of hygiene with the rise of
scientific discoveries. Pioneers like Louis Pasteur and Joseph Lister demonstrated the link
between germs and diseases, leading to improved medical practices and public health
measures. The introduction of handwashing and sterilization in hospitals greatly reduced
infection rates. Public awareness campaigns and government regulations began to promote
better hygiene in everyday life.
Today, hygiene remains a crucial aspect of public health and daily routines. Advancements in
technology have made access to clean water and sanitation facilities more widespread. People
now understand the importance of practices like handwashing, brushing teeth, and proper
waste disposal. The history of hygiene reflects humanity’s ongoing efforts to protect health

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to

[I] Stress has become a significant problem for many students in today’s educational
environment. [II] Many students feel stressed because of heavy workloads, tough exams, and
the high expectations set by parents and teachers. [III] This stress can impact both their
mental and physical health, making it challenging to concentrate and perform well
academically. [IV]
One of the primary causes of stress at school is the intense pressure to succeed. Students are
frequently expected to excel in all subjects, participate in extracurricular activities, and
complete assignments on time. The fear that they might fail or not meet expectations can lead
to self-doubt and anxiety. Moreover, the competition for top grades and college admissions
has increased, adding even more pressure. This kind of stress can cause students to feel
overwhelmed, especially when they struggle to balance their studies with other aspects of their
lives.
Another contributing factor to school stress is social pressure. Many students face challenges
such as bullying, peer pressure, or the need to fit in with their classmates. These social issues
can make school a stressful place, causing students to feel isolated or excluded. Additionally,
the widespread use of social media has created new sources of stress, as students often
compare their lives to the seemingly perfect lives of others online. This comparison can lead
to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem, further increasing their stress levels.
There are several effective ways to help students manage stress at school. Providing access to
mental health resources, such as counseling services, can offer students a safe space to
express their concerns. Schools can also organize stress management workshops that teach
relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and meditation. Encouraging students to practice
good time management and get enough sleep can improve their ability to handle stress.
Finally, support from teachers and parents, who emphasize the importance of effort over
perfection, can make a significant difference in reducing stress.

answer to each of the following questions from 23 to 30.
As we continue to face the impacts of climate change, having a green environment has become
increasingly important to the future of our society. To achieve this, the world is shifting towards
green energy, and two particular types of energy at the centre of this movement are solar power and wind power.
If we want to stop
the climate crisis and create a better and more sustainable future, green energy sources will undoubtedly be the key. (Adapted from

Urbanization, the movement of people from rural areas to cities, is one of the most
significant global phenomena of the 21st century. This demographic shift is primarily driven by
the promise of better job opportunities, improved living standards, and access to modern
infrastructure. Cities, once small settlements, have now turned into bustling metropolises, home
to millions of people. However, while urbanization offers numerous benefits, it also brings a
whole new ball game
in terms of challenges that must be addressed for long-term sustainability.
As more people migrate to cities, the strain on urban infrastructure becomes evident[I].
Overcrowding, traffic congestion, and pollution are common problems faced by many cities
today[II]. In addition, the expansion of cities often leads to the destruction of natural habitats,
[III]threatening biodiversity and contributing to environmental degradation. Furthermore, [IV]. Trang 5
As a result, many urban residents find themselves living in informal settlements or slums, where basic needs are not met.
In conclusion, urbanization is a complex and multifaceted process that requires a balance
between growth and sustainability. While it offers substantial opportunities for economic
development and social progress, it also brings about significant challenges that need innovative
solutions. As we move toward the future, it is crucial to create cities that are not only
economically viable but also environmentally sustainable and inclusive

Green living is a lifestyle that prioritizes sustainability and environmental consciousness. It
encompasses a range of practices aimed at reducing one’s ecological footprint and promoting a
harmonious coexistence with nature. Individuals who embrace green living make conscious
choices in various aspects of their lives to minimize waste, conserve resources, and promote a healthier planet.
By embracing green living, individuals contribute to the collective effort to combat climate
change and protect ecosystems. This lifestyle promotes a more sustainable and balanced future,
where the needs of both current and future generations are met without compromising the health of the planet. (Adapted from

(Adapted from

These early efforts showed an understanding that hygiene was linked to overall well-being.
The 19th century marked a turning point in the understanding of hygiene with the rise of
scientific discoveries. Pioneers like Louis Pasteur and Joseph Lister demonstrated the link
between germs and diseases, leading to improved medical practices and public health
measures. The introduction of handwashing and sterilization in hospitals greatly reduced
infection rates
The history of hygiene reflects humanity’s ongoing efforts to protect health
and prevent disease, proving its significance across time.

[I] Stress has become a significant problem for many students in today’s educational
environment. [II] Many students feel stressed because of heavy workloads, tough exams, and
the high expectations set by parents and teachers. [III] This stress can impact both their
mental and physical health, making it challenging to concentrate and perform well academically.
This kind of stress can cause students to feel
overwhelmed, especially when they struggle to balance their studies with other aspects of their lives.
Providing access to
mental health resources, such as counseling services, can offer students a safe space to
express their concerns
Trang 17
