HEALTHY HABITS POSTERS

Work in groups. Design a poster to help teens to develop a healthy habit (e.g. having
a balanced diet, taking regular exercise, protecting themselves against certain
diseases). Present your poster to the class. Use these questions as cues for your
presentation.

1. Healthy habits are habits that promote health and wellness in your life like
exercising, eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of sleep. Of course, important habits don't
always have to do with your physical health.
2. Exercise: improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease,
strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.
Eating a healthy diet: may help to prevent certain long-term (chronic) diseases such as
heart disease, stroke and diabetes. It may also help to reduce your risk of developing
some cancers and help you to keep a healthy weight.
Getting plenty of sleep: improves your brain performance, mood, and health.
