In some countries, young people have little leisure time and are under a lot of pressure to work hard
on their studies.
What do you think are the causes of this?
What solutions can you suggest?

Around the world, teenagers / students / adolescents are spending most of their time studying instead of
relaxing or doing other activities. This leads to the fact that many of them are under a high pressure.
Nowadays, many tenageers in different nations feel overloaded in their study which lead to the fact that they
don’t have a lot of time to relax. I will discussion about my view in this essay.
Causes / Reasons of this issue will be addressed in this essay, together with some solutions / measures to help
young people / teenagers / adolescents / students to have more leisure time.
Causes:
Too many deadlines
Enormous amount of homework
1 Teachers assign too much homework for students.
Examples: 5 tasks / assignments per subject students get overloaded
2 Peer pressure: many students feel left behind
Many students compare themselves with their friends unconsciously.
Many of them aim to enter big universities
students get under pressure
3 Parental pressure:
Expectations of parents to their children >< capabilities of children
4 Too many academic competitions: universities have high standards -> students have to learn a
lot
Solutions:
1 Teachers should reduce the number of assignments
Teachers should let students do their assignments in class, instead of them doing tasks at
home
2 Students should be aware of their capabilities / competences
Manage their time to study
Stop comparing themselves with their friends: everyone is unique, everyone has their own
strengths and weaknesses
3 Parents should spend more time with their children to understand them and their capabilities
have more appropriate expectations
4 More vocational schools -> young people have more options
Limit the number of academic competitions
Organise some talent competitions / extra-curricular activities (…)
