Afternoon August, 5 , at the meeting of the Ministry of Industry and

Commerce was held by deputy of MIC, many serious problems related to
low-quality goods and smuggled goods were given, more serious problem
is also mentioned is the price of electricity, oil and milk are highly
increase and it leads to difficulties for consumers.
At the meeting, a hot issue causing public opinion is the low-quality
goods, especially in the field of smuggling foods into VN, yet Market
Management Agency cannot handle it.
Mr. Do Hong Lam (MIC) admit: Many imported food products and
domestic production have the high amount of antibiotics, about 8 times
higher than the allowed standard.
Noteworthy, in addition to domestically produced fruits and vegetables, it
is difficult to manage the sumggled one often cross the border because of
the poor MMA. Despite of many efforts, the management of violation of
low-quality goods and fake is still a big challenge to MMA. In July, the
MMA have checked 4.523 cases, deal with 2.652 cases with total money
is above 19.074 billion dong. Because the force is still weak and wide
area, many cases haven’t been handled.
As the case of the powdered milk are suspected of being contaminated
was imported to VN, Mr. Lam said “MIC and Ministry of Health will
increase inspection. We will first consider the legality of goods are being
sold domestically, then ask the local to cooperate with MIC to handle
violations and protect their legitimate rights”.
Recently, news and magazines are continually reflect about the increase
of milk cost domestically and internationally while its quality is not
guaranteed, Trade promotion department said that the milk quality
management is the responsibility of MIC. Meanwhile, relevant agencies
said this is the responsibility of many ministries so that MIC said that
they will cooperate with ministries related to this to perform.
