The given bar chart illustrates the total minutes of UK telephone calls by three groups,
measured in billions, between 1995 and 2002.
Overall, it is clear to see that the figure for National and international – fixed line and Mobiles
(all calls) experienced an upward trend throughout the process, while Local – fixed line calls
fluctuated. In addition, Local – fixed line calls maintained the highest number among the three
of categories.
With regard to National and international – fixed line and Mobiles (all calls), they started at
just under 40 billion minutes and just under 5 billion minutes, respectively. They also went up
during the period with National and international – fixed line ending as the second highest
with exactly 60 billion minutes while the lowest ended was Mobiles (all calls) with nearly 45
billion minutes.
In terms of the figure for Local – fixed line calls, it began at slightly over 70 billion minutes, as
the highest number among the three groups. After that, it steadily increased and reached a
peak at 90 billion minutes in 1999 then went down to approximately the starting point in 2002.
Despite this fluctuation, its figure always maintained the top position.
