LESSON 5E: WORD SKILLS – ADJECTIVE + PREPOSITION
I. Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge
- Use the correct prepositions after adjectives.
- Retell two stories related to teenagers’ addiction.
2. Competences
- Understand the gist of an article.
- Use the adjectives with their correct prepositions to tell a story.
3. Personal qualities
- Improve confidence in speaking English and working in pairs.
- Gain more self-control when using technological devices.

- Textbook: Friends Global 11 (Unit 5 – lesson E)
- Computer and projector
III. Procedures
1. Activity 1: warm-up and lead-in (10 mins)
a. Objectives:
- Review modals in the past
- Raise students’ awareness of the term addiction.
b. Content:
- Small quiz
- Pair-work speaking activity
c. Products:
- Oral answers from groups and students

Quiz (7 mins)
- T divides the class into 8 groups. They will take
turns to join in.
- T shows the question. Each group has to give
the correct answer before they can spin the
wheel to earn bonus points.
