Dưới đây là 1000 từ vựng cốt lõi. Theo thống kê của đại học Oxford, đây là 1000 từ được sử
dụng nhiều nhất trong giao tiếp, xuất hiện 90% trong bất kì cuộc hội thoại nào.
Trung bình, cứ 100 từ bạn nói, sẽ có 90 từ nằm trong 1000 từ này. Vì vậy, nếu bạn muốn giao
tiếp tiếp, thay vì học lan man, hãy làm chủ 1000 từ này.
Lưu ý: Danh sách 1000 từ này chỉ dùng để kiểm tra trình độ từ vựng của bạn đang ở Level
nào, đừng dùng nó để học.

Cấp độ 1 – 600 từ cơ bản
Đây là những từ rất đơn giản, hãy đánh dấu những từ bạn chưa biết. Nếu bạn biết hơn 95%,
chúc mừng, bạn đã xong Cấp độ 1 của 1000 cốt lõi.
Cấp độ 2 – 200 từ nâng cao hơn
Những từ bạn đã biết nghĩa, cứ lướt qua. Hãy tra từ điển và ghi xuống nghĩa của những từ bạn không biết.
Cấp độ 3 – 200 từ cuối
Làm tương tự cấp độ 2

Trong từ vựng, chúng ta biết đến khái niệm Idioms. Idiom được cấu tạo bằng nhiều từ khác
nhau tạo thành một câu nhưng không mang nghĩa đen của nó. Idiom được người bản ngữ sử
dụng rất nhiều trong văn nói và viết, vì vậy hiểu được ý nghĩa của Idiom sẽ giúp các bạn sử
dụng Tiếng Anh hiệu quả hơn rất nhiều. Nhiều bạn không biết về cấp độ từ vựng, nên học những thứ sai Level, thành ra vừa khó mà
rất mau quên vì học xong không gặp, cũng không dùng.
Lúc mình mới bắt đầu, có 1 thầy dạy mình cụm Idioms “rain cats and dogs” là mưa tầm tã.
Mình WOW dữ lắm, mình thấy sao mà hay quá, đi nói chuyện với mấy đứa bạn chắc nó phải tròn xoe mắt luôn.
Sau này lúc bắt đầu đi dạy, mình cũng hay dạy cụm Idiom này. Nhưng thú thật với các bạn,
hơn 10 năm sử dụng Tiếng Anh, mình chưa gặp ai sài cụm này trong thực tế. Xem phim với
nghe nhạc, mình cũng không gặp luôn.
Vì vậy, chỉ học Idioms khi bạn đã xong Level 2: 3000 từ (tầm IELTS 6.0).
