3. KỂ VỀ THỬ THÁCH
A time you had a successful challenge.
How did you feel about that?
What can help people face challenges in daily life?
Today I’m gonna tell you about a challenge that I confronted a few months
ago
Back then my best friend and I were running a project that we had been
dreaming of for years. It was teaching free English for poor children in some
remote areas in Vietnam.
The project was going well, but suddenly a bunch of our volunteers rejected
to work with us because they felt no connecon between them and us. I was
speechless as I thought that we really got on well with each other.
My friend and I strained every nerve to 昀椀 nd out the causes. We also
consulted another friend who is an expert in Human Resources, and he gave
us very useful advice. Then we rushed to persuade the volunteers to stay.
I felt shocked at 昀椀 rst because I had to cope with such a challenge. I
didn’t know what to do. The future of our project was just up in the air. I
lOMoARcPSD| 40342981
was in two minds whether or not to leave it. I stayed up very late then to try
to reach a decision, but that was impossible. But then I happened to see a
movie named ‘Sing, a cartoon featuring the director of a theater in New York
making enormous eorts to give it a rebirth. He faced several hardships along
the way, and he experienced mixed feelings: movated, inspired but
frustrated, and lonely which are the same to mine at that me. I came to
realize that those feelings are part of life, and if you want success, you’ll
surely go through them and learn from them for personal growth. That movie
somehow cheered me up to keep calm and move forward. I silently thanked
that di 昀케 culty for aording me the opportunity to learn and become a
beer me. That’s all I want to say.
- With a person who has already graduated like me, finding a good job is
never easy. Last week, I had an interview for receptionist position of a
company. Although it isn't a big workplace but I still be really hopeful. I was
asked a lot of questions about myself and my major. I'm so nervous because
the interviewer isn't so nice. However, in the next night, I check my email
and I saw their mail. They told me that I passed this interview. Oh my god.
This information made me so surprise!
- No one likes and wants to wait. Me too. This feeling makes me stress.
Someone said waiting is happiness, but it is not suitable for me. Maybe I'm
lOMoARcPSD| 40342981
not a patient people because when I have to wait, I can't do anything well. I
think I must change myself a lot.
- Many people like to celebrate their good news and me too. I think it
normal. Why don't we save the thing or memory which makes us feel be
happy? Saving it and watching it again in the future to know how great you
were.
5. KỂ VỀ LẦN ĐI DU LỊCH
Part 4. Kể về 1 lần bạn đi du lịch (holiday). tại sao mn lại thích đi du lịch?
Last summer, I had a great summer holiday. After finishing final exams at
university, I went to Halong bay with my friends. This was the first time I got
there so I was super excited. We stayed at a beautiful homestay. I visited many
famous attractions, enjoyed many kinds of seafood, and went for a swim. I also
took a lot of pictures. The nature here was amazing. We went to Halong water
park, and it was the biggest water park I have seen. I had such a great time with
my friends. We spent almost a week there and we didn’t want to go back to
Hanoi. Everything was great except there were too many visitors and sometimes
we had to wait very long.
For the third question, I think people enjoy holiday because:
- First, traveling to new places, people can discover stunning places and
delicious food. They can also learn about new cultures and traditions of
local people
- Second, traveling creates many chances to meet and make new friends,
- Besides, visiting new places, we can take stunning photos and have great
memories. .
Personally, my next summer is to have a holiday with my family in South
Korea,
6. Laughing with friends
lOMoARcPSD| 40342981
Describe a person who made you laugh happily when you were a child
I’ve had several funny experiences in my life, in most of them I am the butt of
the joke. This is luckily not one of those stories, which is a story of my little
brother. When we were younger, perhaps 5 or 6 years old, our parents took us to
visit a petting farm. We loved animals when we were younger and were able to
interact with some directly would make us ecstatic.
The ride to the petting zoo was filled with conversations of all the animals we
hoped to see and play with. Our imagination ran wild of course, from common
animals like pigs and ducks, to more interesting animals like dragons and unicorns.
Before you know it we were at this little farm in the outskirts of the city filled
with families and animals. We played with all the standard farm animals you can
think of, but then came a llama, which was something we had never seen in real
life.
I had seen them on TV and heard about how they would spit on people if they
were annoyed. My mischievous brain instantly came up with a plan. I told my
brother that if he approached a llama and laughed really hard in its face, it would
laugh along with him. He of course rushed over, climbed on the fence and started
cackling like a madman.
The llama did not appreciate this of course, reared back it’s head and spat right
on my brothers face. It was the single greatest moment in my life up to that point
and I doubled over in laughter until my belly hurt. My brother of course was not
happy with it or with me.
7. Save money
I had to save a large sum of money when I bought my first car for more
conveniently travelling to work. I can’t remember the exact date, but I suspect
it’s 6 years ago.
lOMoARcPSD| 40342981
On top of that, this was when I left home to live independently, and I wanted
to pay my own way so that I refused to lend money from my parents. It all
seems that I was living on the breadline and couldn’t afford this purchase.
Fortunately, I had a full-time job and earned a good salary and an extra
income from some freelance projects during my free time. But it may take
years to get enough money to buy my car if I just kept living on the fast lane.
So, to save money, I decided to cut down on luxuries and avoid exceeding my
agreed credit limit. Then, I called my financial consultant and accepted a
bank loan for my purchase. Also, I didn’t miss this opportunity to get a good
deal as the car price was going cheap and finally I can drive to work everyday.
I was very comfortable with my car and satisfied with my saving. But I think
the point is I learn a saving lessons and make my saving habit for a bigger
money like buying a house in the future.”
ĐỀ SỐ 8. KỂ VỀ SỰ LỰA CHỌN
1. Tell me about a time when you made a choice?
2. How do you feel when you find it difficult to choose between two things?
3. Some people think that we have too much choices these days. What do
you think about that?
lOMoARcPSD| 40342981
Life is often full of choices and people always have to make their decisions. If I
have to say about the most difficult decision, it will be the one on which
university I would go to.
After graduating from high school about 4 years ago, I struggled with one of the
life-time decisions of choosing the university that I would enroll in.
It was difficult because at that time I understood neither my strength nor the
career that I am interested in. My family wanted me to pursue a business career,
therefore I should enter Foreign Trade University. However I was not fond of it
and I even could not meet its entry requirement. I was so worried because most
of my friends had already made up their minds and I didn't have much time to
think it through.
