I read the book and watched the movie, and both gave me positive impressions. Personally, I prefer the movie's ending. I feel bad for Anna's situation as I read the book. The author took control of her life and made it no longer be hers. She was born as a result of a sick sister, and her entire upbringing was made up of days spent donating organs. What you are to do in this unit is to watch the film My Sister’s Keeper directed by Nick Cassavetes and answer this question:
Do you prefer the ending of the novel or that of the film?
I read the book and watched the movie, and both gave me positive impressions. Personally, I prefer the movie's ending. I feel bad for Anna's situation as I read the book. The author took control of her life and made it no longer be hers. She was born as a result of a sick sister, and her entire upbringing was made up of days spent donating organs. According to medical evidence, he was involved in an automobile accident that caused brain death. It was a tragic finish for both Anna and the Fitzgerald family, in my opinion, because she never lived for herself. The original ending was largely altered by the filmmaker for the movie version. The movie has become more relatable by allowing Kate to achieve her wish to end her life while Anna lives on. I'm delighted Anna can mature and lead her own life in this version. As for Kate, she became aware of a number of things, including her parents' love, her siblings' suffering, and the existence of a romantic interest. Kate became kind and selfless as a result of those things. Not just for herself, but also for her own family, her death was a relief. Kate may have a better life in the next life, I hope. These are the explanations for why I think the movie's finale is better.
