In the modern economy, profitability has been considered as the life force of each business. Without
generating profit, a company is putting itself to the verge of bankruptcy. Yet there is a rising belief that
social responsibilities should also go parallel with making money rather than the sole desire for it alone.
From my perspective, while earning profit is crucial to businesses, their social responsibilities cannot be overlooked.
On the one hand, creating profit is the one of the top priorities that one company pursues, regardless of
its age and scale. First and foremost, money earned from profit sustains and promotes the company's
internal operation and prosperity . Profit provides the cash flow that pays salaries to the employees,
maintains facilities, purchases raw materials and technology, and covers daily heads.Without it, even
well-run firms may quickly experience insolvency. Moreover, retained earnings create a financial
cushion that helps firms survive economic downturns without resorting to disruptive cost-cutting. In this
sense, profit is not merely a goal in itself but a necessary resource that enables firms to grow, innovate,
and remain resilient over time.
On the other hand, a firm should strike a balance between its mission of reaching profit and having
responsibilities for the community. A vital justification is that ignoring social and environmental duties
can seriously hurt a company. Bad practices, for instance unsafe working conditions, pollution, or
misleading advertising, can damage reputation, cause customers to stop buying, and lead to fines or
legal action. All of these outcomes conversely diminish the company’s profit in the long run. By

marketing helps build customer trust and makes employees feel valued. In addition, when firms invest
in the community or in environmental protection, they help create a healthier, more stable market. As a
result, local people have more income to spend, public services work better, and regulators are less likely to impose harsh rules.
In conclusion, profit is essential for business survival, but social responsibility is equally important for
long-term success. Companies that balance both can achieve sustainable growth while benefiting
society.……………………………………………………………………………………………………..
