Task 1: The table shows the informaon of total health expenditure per capita in ve
countries in 2019.
Country
Health expenditure (US dollars)
Australia

Germany
6,646
United States

Japan
4,823
United Kingdom
4,653
The table compares and contrasts data on health expenses of people living in 5 dierent
countries in the year 2019, measured in US dollars.
In general, cizens of the United States allocated the largest budget to healthcare, while
people in the United Kingdom spent the least.
More specically, the United States made the top place with about 11,073 US dollars. Except
for Germany, which was the second place at 6,646 US dollars, the remaining three countries
(Australia, Japan, and United Kingdom) could not even reach half of the United States in
terms of health-related outgoings. Among the three aforemenoned countries, the record
of Australia was the median of the whole researched data, accounng for 5,187 US dollars.
Investment in healthcare in the United Kingdom was 4,652 dollars, staying at the boom of
the list. With the dierence of about 200 US dollars from the United Kingdom, Japan held
the fourth posion with 4,823 US dollars.

Task 2: Some people feel that the government should regulate the level of violence in lms
on television and at the cinema. Others feel that violent lms should not be regulated.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
People hold dierent opinions about violent scenes in lms on television and at the cinema.
While some individuals claim that violence levels should be controlled by the government, I
strongly believe that these scenarios are indispensable.
On the one hand, it is the detrimental impacts on the young generaons manners that make
it claimed to be prohibited. To begin with, violent movies aract all sorts of the audience,
including teenagers who are not fully developed their cognion and tend to imitate acons
conducted in the movies. As a result, these violent scenes may create a foundaon of
brutality amongst youngsters and result in school violence. Furthermore, should it not be for
governments, there are no other governing bodies that are powerful enough to impose
stringent laws to manage the level of hoslity in movies.
On the other hand, I vehemently hold that including violent scenes in movies not only
benets viewers but also producers. Firstly, many students and grown-ups are big fans of
horror movies, which contain numerous scenes of violence and consider these as the main
medium of entertainment. Thanks to these stress relievers, they can arouse their excitement
and enthusiasm to work eciently throughout the repeve and mundane daily roune.
Secondly, due to the great demand from people who love violent scenes, lm directors can
achieve resounding success in the lm industry and therefore, earn a lucrave career.
Therefore, ltering savage elements will be a tantalizing task.
In conclusion, although violent factors are believed to be beer regulated by the
governments, I adamantly believe that they should be included because of viewers
demands and producers’ benets.

Task 2: Many people argue that in order to improve educaonal quality, high school students
should be encouraged to make comments or even cricism on their teachers. Others think it
will lead to loss of respect and discipline in the classroom. Discuss both views and give your
own opinion.
In recent decades, educaon play a crucial role in naonal development. Therefore, a school
of thought holds that students should cricize or make a complaint to their teachers or
tutors while some claim that it will lead to a loss of respect in the classroom. From my
perspecve, I rmly lean towards the rst idea and this essay will discuss these two
viewpoints in a depth.
Nowadays, there is no denying that in some countries, the educaonal quality is signicantly
declined. On the one hand, in terms of the governments, they concentrate on developing
the economy rather than educaonal quality which leads to the dissasfacon of students in
schools or even parents. Hence, whenever students do not feel sased with what they are
learning or the teacher's atudes towards them, they should make a complaint so that the
teachers would improve it. Besides, everything is not perfect, thus, this cricism might
create a movaon for the schools to tackle these problems.
On the other hand, some people believe that it is disrespecul when students make a
cricism on their teachers. To begin with, open discussion between the teachers and the
students can be a viable soluon. For instance, they can both discuss the problems,
expressing their own opinions so that eventually come up with the soluon. This approach
has a clear advantage of making students become proacve in studying. Furthermore,
teachers might have a chance to beer their pedagogical skills. In this way, both the learners
and the educators can achieve higher academically.
In a nutshell, I strongly contend that open discussions will absolutely benecial for both
students and teachers simply because students can respect and express all their ideas.

Task 2: Some think that people should not change their jobs while others think they should
because it brings advantages for themselves, company and society. Discuss and give opinion
ANSWER (8.0+):
The topic of changing jobs can be a sensive topic, with some believing that doing so equips
workers with a more expansive skill set and allows companies to save on training costs. I,
however, contend that it is more disadvantageous to change jobs since it can hinder an
individuals career and companies may connually struggle to hire new employees.
A key benet of workers changing jobs regularly is that they can be equipped with a more
diverse skill set. As dierent jobs ulize dierent knowledge bases, employees may be able
to acquire a wide-ranging variety of professional skills. Therefore, in the future when a new
job is oered to them, employees will be beer prepared for the work entailed at any given
posion. For companies, when their employees switch occupaons, they can save me and
money on training. Firms can do this by hiring someone with equal or more experience than
the previous person in the same eld. Therefore the quality of the products or services
being oered by these rms will remain consistent.
However, switching jobs can hinder a worker’s career as companies may be reluctant to hire
such individuals. Employers understandably may hold a prejudice against those who
frequently alternate between occupaons as they think a so-called ‘job hopperwill not be
able to contribute to their company long-term and thus it would be counterproducve to
commit resources to them. When it comes to how companies themselves can be negavely
aected by job hopping, they may connually struggle when nding new employees who
can meet their requirements. This is evident with how internaonal accounng rms have a
higher than average turnover rate at the junior level, meaning that they are in a near-
endless cycle of hiring new people.
In conclusion, while changing jobs can help workers acquire vital skills and companies save
me and money for training, I would assert that the drawbacks are much more substanal,
as it can impede one’s career and companies can suer from potenally high turnover rates.

Task 1: The table below shows the prices of a cup of coee in 6 cies in Australia in 2010 and
2014.
The table compares the cost per cup of coee in six Australian cies between 2010 and
2014.
Overall, people had to pay signicantly higher for coee in Sydney than in the other
countries. In addion, the price of a cup of coee in Melbourne experienced the most
remarkable rise over the course of me.
It cost 2.8 dollars for a coee drink in Sydney in 2010, and an increase of 13.2% in selling
price was recorded four years later. Melbourne, placed second highest at the coee price in
both years, had the most notable change of 20.8%, rising to 2.9 dollars. Brisbane sold 2.25
dollars for a cup of coee and was the only city with no price rise.
Since 2010, Perth had boosted its price by 7.1%, slightly higher than the change in
Adelaide. While people in Perth paid 2.25 per coee drink, those in Adelaide paid 0.25
dollars less in 2014. During the same period, the cheapest place to get coee on the list was
Canberra, at a charge of only 1.6 dollars and a dollar higher later.

Task 2: Some people think that some individuals are naturally good leaders while others
think individuals can learn leadership skills. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
People hold diering views on whether leadership is learned or innate. Although some
aspects of leadership are probably inherited, I believe that leadership skills can be acquired
through training and pracce.
On the one hand, many people claim that leaders are born with a charismac personality,
giving them a considerable advantage over other people. These disncve personal traits
enable people to become naturally good at leading and inspiring others. For example,
leaders need to be able to posively inuence others, either by their innate charisma or
their powerful presence. As these natural abilies are not something that can be obtained
over me, those who do not possess them may face diculty in convincing or movang
others, which may prevent them from becoming inspiring leaders.
On the other hand, other people, including myself, believe that the vast majority of leaders
are not born to lead, but prepared to lead. There are many skills relang to leadership that
are learnable and achievable, such as communicaon skills or problem-solving skills. As long
as a person receives proper training and puts enough eort into honing these skills, they can
also become an eecve leader. That is the reason why there are many leadership training
programs and courses that aim to train those who want to develop their leadership
capabilies. Most people can reap signicant rewards from these courses, enabling them to
successfully lead others.
In conclusion, it is true that some traits of leadership are likely to be genec. However, I
believe that everybody can become a great leader because leadership consists of a lot of
skills that can be learned and developed over me.

Task 2: Some people say that too much me and resources are spent on the protecon of
wild animals and birds. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The protecon of wildlife has become a frequent subject of debate with strong arguments
for and against. Personally, I believe that humans are paying too much aenon and
allocang too many resources to this issue, as will now be explained.
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
Firstly, if we allow any species to disappear, this is actually not a disaster. Some people may
argue that the ecosystems will be seriously aected if birds and wild animals are on the
verge of exncon, but this is an exaggeraon. Fossil evidence suggests that the mass
disappearance of the dinosaurs did not cause any harm to other species on the Earth, but
merely triggered the emergence of others such as mammals. Therefore, we should not
devote too much aenon to the protecon of wildlife.
Secondly, public money is limited. So we should allocate our naonal budget to more urgent
issues rather than expending too much in the conservaon of wild animals and birds. For
example, more resources should be diverted to medical research to nd out remedies for
fatal diseases such as HIV and cancer, which may help to save thousands of lives in society.
Finally, the government can simply protect wildlife by connuing campaigns to raise public
awareness of the protecon of wildlife habitats or imposing stricter punishments on
acvies that may harm wild animals. Any individual who hunts wildlife for food or for
pleasure should be given a heavy ne, and this may discourage them from threatening the
life of wild animals.
In conclusion, while I do not refute the argument for the conservaon of wildlife, I believe
that it should aract less aenon and fewer resources from the public.

Task 2: Some people think that the government should strictly control the supply of fresh
water, while others think we can use as much water as we want. Discuss both views and give
your opinion.
ANSWER (8.0+):
There are diering opinions in regard to the freedom to use fresh water. Some believe
cizens should have the right to use fresh water freely, while others assert that the state
should regulate the amount of fresh water cizens can use. This essay will discuss both of
these arguments and explain my thoughts on why the government should manage the use
of freshwater.
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
On the one hand, some see the right to fresh water as a basic human necessity.
According to the UN’s Internaonal Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the
right to water is an essenal human right and all signatory naons of the covenant must
ensure that their cizens have unrestricted access to fresh water. Thus, the governments of
those naons are obliged to guarantee that their cizens can use fresh water in any amount
to meet their fundamental needs such as cooking, cleaning and drinking. If cizens are not
aorded adequate access to fresh water, it would be tantamount to an infringement on
human rights and these cizens will suer greatly as a result.
On the other hand, others believe fresh water is a scarce resource and should therefore be
controlled by the state. The global supply of fresh water is dwindling with each passing
decade due to numerous factors such as the greater frequency of droughts and the
increasing demand from a growing populaon. According to the UNs esmaon, the
majority of the world populaon will reside in water-stressed regions by the end of the 21st
century. Hence, the scarcity of fresh water should be addressed by the government through
the promulgaon of policies and regulaons intended to prolong the supply of water in the
long-term.
In conclusion, I believe that though people should have access to an adequate amount of
fresh water for their survival, the state should intervene in not leng some people use too
much water as this can lead to others not having enough of it.

Task 1: Maps
Task 2: More and more people are choosing to eat healthy food and exercise regularly. Why
and what can we do to encourage this?
The growing popularity of healthy diets and more regular exercise is the result of the
inuence of the mass media. This trend can be further encouraged by enacng legislaon to
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
incorporate increased physical acvies into schools and by imposing a tax on processed
foods.
The growing awareness of healthy lifestyles can be ascribed to the far-reaching impact of
mass media. It is now common to watch movies and TV shows featuring celebries who are
t, implicitly introducing new standards of beauty that are oen aainable. Hence,
audiences may try to research and imitate the diet and exercise regimens of well-known
celebries and become healthier in the process. This can be observed widely in numerous
health magazines such as Men’s Health and Women’s Health that cater to this desire by
publishing the daily tness rounes and meal plans of stars. Fans can then read these
magazines online and adopt the rounes to learn the best pracces of successful role
models and consistently stay in good shape.
In order for this trend to connue to ourish, denive steps must be taken by the
government. The rst is to introduce legislaon that requires more physical acvies to be
taught at school. This can include sports such as football, basketball and other typical
exercises such as jogging. By creang addional acvies for schoolchildren to engage in,
the tness level of a naon’s populaon can be beer maintained in the long-term. The
second measure would be for the state to promulgate a tax on the purchase of processed
food products. As consumers may be unwilling to pay more given the higher price, such a
reform would encourage them to buy naturally produced foods and in turn embrace
healthier eang habits.
In conclusion, thanks to mass media, more people are embracing wholesome lifestyles and
this can be further encouraged by mandatory physical educaon at school and taxes on
processed food. It is crucial that the last soluon be aordable in order to enjoy widespread
adopon.

The chart illustrates the proporon of people using dierent methods to access news from
1995 and the predicon to 2025.
Overall, while the internet gained more popularity during the given period, the opposite was
true for the remaining gures. These trends are likely to connue in the future.
The percentage of people who watched news programs on TV was nearly 70% in
1995. The gure then decreased gradually to 55% in 2020, despite a slight rise of 3% in 2010.
It is then likely to nish at exactly 50% in 2025. Addionally, starng at about 55%, the
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
gures for newspapers and radios experienced similar downward trends, declining to about
30% in 2020. The expectaon is that approximately 30% of people will use newspapers, and
roughly 23% will listen to the radio to get news.
Despite only becoming available in 1995 and aracng only a small proporon of people in
2000, the internet quickly became prevalent in the next 20 years, with 40% of people using
it. The gure is predicted to increase to about 55% in 2025, overcoming newspapers to
become the most common method to access news in 2025.
Task 2: Some people think scienc research should focus on solving world health problems.
Others think that there are more important issues. Discuss both views and give your
opinion.
ANSWER (8.0+):
It is argued that scienc research should be devoted to addressing global health issues, but
there are some who contend that there are more pressing problems to focus on. This essay
discusses both sides of this argument and why I parally agree with the laer opinion.
To begin with, some argue it is important that adequate aenon is given to solving global
health issues. Currently, there are many people who are nding it dicult to aord medicine
to be protected from diseases. To address this, sciensts could strive to devise new and
more aordable alternaves so that those people can live healthily in the long-term. This is
evident with the Hepas B vaccine, as prior to its invenon medicaon for treang the
virus was expensive. However, once the vaccine was presented as a more aordable opon,
more people were then administered the vaccine and the infecon rate had decreased by a
considerable margin.
However, others argue that there are other issues that are more deserving of aenon from
scienc research. One of them is global famine, as there are some regions in the world that
are suering from crop shortages due to numerous factors such as poor soil quality and
pests. Therefore, scienc research could be devoted to creang new genecally-modied
crops that could withstand harsh condions. Another crical issue is global warming, as it
could pose a greater threat to all life on Earth than most plights on global health. Hence,
scienc research could be valuable in nding the causes of it as well as relevant soluons
to curb the eects of it.
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
In conclusion, I agree that while it is important that scienc research should be dedicated
to solving global health problems, there are more crical issues that need to be addressed
such as reducing famine and migang global warming.

throughout a three-year period.
In general, the majority of the hall's revenue came from room rentals and support from the
local council and other organizaons. At the end of the period, the hall earned less prot,
mainly because of the increased spending.
In year 1, the hall made £34,000 from rooms for hire, aer which the amount rose by £1,000
before falling by £3,000 in year 3. Regarding the cafe, the money made from it was quite
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
insignicant as compared to other sources, standing at £4,000 in year 3 aer uctuang
slightly. In terms of funding, the local council subsidized the hall with the highest amount of
money, roughly £22,000 per year, slightly lower than the funds from all other sources
combined, which saw a substanal rise to £27,000 in year 3.
The total income mostly remained unchanged, at around £84,000 over the period.
However, because the hall spent more money each year with £62,000 spent in year 3, the
prot went down considerably to £22,000, approximately £5,000 less than in year 1.
Task 2: Fewer young people do farming work in rural areas. Why? Should young people be
encouraged to do farming work?
ANSWER (8.0+):
There has been a decline in the number of young people engaging in farming work, which
can be ascribed to the greater allure of factory-based jobs and the changing percepon
resulng from the increased provision of educaon. Because of these factors, it can be
prudent for young people to pursue agricultural work.
Young people becoming more reluctant to work in farming can be explained as follows.
Firstly, the slump in young workers working in the agriculture industry can be aributed to
factory-based jobs being more aracve. In comparison to farming work, factory jobs
usually provide a more lucrave income and the working environment is oen more
comfortable as workers get to be in an air-condioned seng under a roof. Thus, young
workers are more inclined to work in a factory instead of on a farm. In addion, with the
greater provision of mass educaon to young people, more of them have begun to perceive
farming work to be below their standards. They are typically more drawn to jobs that are
beer suited to their elevated educaonal background and skill set. Hence they will likely
consider agricultural work to not meet those standards.
Due to the factors outlined above, young people should be encouraged to work in
agriculture. Firstly, farming jobs require a great deal of manpower to keep up with the
currently growing demand for food. A dearth in personnel can hinder producvity in the
agricultural industry and by extension the naonal food supply can be deleteriously halted,
which may lead to a domesc food crisis. Furthermore, farming work can be a vocaonal
pathway for young people. It provides them with praccal skills such as using heavy
machinery and planng crops, as well as so skills such as task management, organizaonal
lOMoARcPSD|50202050
and communicaon skills. That way, young people can learn to be more resourceful and
responsible in a professional seng.
In conclusion, the greater benets provided by factory jobs and changing percepon of farm
work are the leading causes of the decline in young people working in agriculture.
Therefore, they should be encouraged to work in that sector as it needs extensive
manpower and it can be a fruiul professional path for them to take.

The line graph illustrates the amount of money (millions of USD) was allocated in four
dierent sectors including company shares, ne art, gold, and property during the period
between 1988 and 2014.
Overall, all four categories experienced an upward trend in funds received from investment
during the whole period. Investment funds in gold, noceably, increased more signicantly
compared to others.
In 1988, the investment fund for ne art was roughly 80 million dollars, while that for gold
was a hundred. In the next 18 years, there was a uctuaon in money received by the ne
art category before this group experienced a dramac increase to approximately 350 million

the main dierence is that in 2012, gold became the most invested asset as this sector
reached 400 dollars before dropping to 325 million USD in 2014.
Regarding company shares and property, both categories shared almost the same trend
from 1988 to 1994, increasing from 50 to around 70 million. Nevertheless, since then, while
the allocaon of nancial funds applied for enterprise shares increased to 250 million in

Task 2: Some people believe that schools should teach foreign languages for primary school
children. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
It is argued that primary school students should learn foreign languages as part of the
curriculum. This essay will explore the advantages and disadvantages of doing this and why
the merits prevail over the drawbacks.
To begin with, there is a considerable disadvantage to teaching foreign languages to primary
school students. The main one is it adds to their already burdensome volume of schoolwork.
Since these primary school students are oen subjected to a hecc curriculum with
mounng homework and in-class assignments, the addion of a foreign language may make
it even more dicult for students to study eecvely. For example, the Japanese Ministry of
Educaon recently aempted to incorporate English into the naonal curriculum for
elementary students. However, it was met with backlash from parents as they complained
that their children are already encumbered with a heavy workload from other core subjects.
However, there are some major advantages a primary school student can gain in learning
foreign languages. First, they can be exposed to new and diverse cultures. As language is a
dening characterisc of a naons culture, students can subsequently acquire a greater
understanding of how people of that naon typically communicate with each other and by
extension how their society funcons culturally. Second, learning a foreign language can
assist in developing primary students’ cognive abilies. In doing this, they will learn how to
recognize complex paerns and use crical thinking skills to make sense of the new
knowledge they are acquiring. Hence, such skills are benecial for a child’s educaon as they
serve to expand the thinking abilies of the brain.
In conclusion, while learning a language can add to the already cumbersome amount of
schoolwork, I assert that it is more advantageous for primary schools to teach their students
foreign languages as they can serve to expand their knowledge about new foreign cultures
and they help sharpen their cognive skills.

The maps present how a small museum and its nearby area had changed from 1990 to 2010.
In general, the museum area had not undergone many dramac changes, except for the
expansion of the car park and the introducon of a new cafe.
The exhibion room opposite the main entrance of the museum used to be an L-shaped
building in 1990, but later it had been demolished to make way for the expansion of the
shop, located to the le of the entrance. There were two separate exhibion rooms in 1990,
but they were combined in 2010 to create one big building. Besides these, lying
perpendicular to the merged exhibion rooms and next to the one facing the main entrance,
the restaurant remained untouched throughout the period.
In 1990, there was a large garden to the le of the museum, and this remained unchanged
in 2010. The coage to the right of the museum had been replaced by a new cafe in 2010.

Task 2: Nowadays, more people move away from their friends and families for work. Do the
advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
These days, many people are willing to sacrice the chance to stay near their families and
friends to relocate for work. While this may have certain drawbacks, from my perspecve,
the benets are more signicant.
On the one hand, people who move away from families and friends are more at the risk of
enduring mental health problems. Physical distance usually discourages them from conding
their troubles to their loved ones. This is oen the case of migrant workers who keep their
suering to themselves just to ease their families’ worries. Consequently, they are more
vulnerable to mental health issues, such as depression, while their families and friends at
home remain unaware. This circumstance could even get worse if these people are
introverts who tend to distance themselves from their new colleagues.
On the other hand, for those relocang for a job, they are more likely to achieve career
fulllment. For one thing, there are oen beer career prospects available outside their
hometown to people of working ages. Bigger cies or countries are hubs of various
industries, which promise more career choices and signicantly higher wages. Therefore, it is
far easier for people to nd a suitable job. Secondly, this can help people, especially those
who have just reached adulthood, advance their careers faster. Living with parents could
indeed trigger emoonal issues because of family conicts, which could negavely inuence
their work performance. Without that potenal disturbance, young people can
wholeheartedly devote themselves to their work and thrive.
In conclusion, because of work, more people are living away from families and friends, which
has both advantages and disadvantages, and I believe that this is more benecial to
individuals.

Health expenditure (US dollars) Australia 5,187 Germany 6,646 United States 11,072 Japan 4,823 United Kingdom 4,653
The table compares and contrasts data on health expenses of people living in 5 different
countries in the year 2019, measured in US dollars.
In general, citizens of the United States allocated the largest budget to healthcare, while
people in the United Kingdom spent the least.
More specifically, the United States made the top place with about 11,073 US dollars. Except
for Germany, which was the second place at 6,646 US dollars, the remaining three countries
(Australia, Japan, and United Kingdom) could not even reach half of the United States in
terms of health-related outgoings. Among the three aforementioned countries, the record
of Australia was the median of the whole researched data, accounting for 5,187 US dollars.
Investment in healthcare in the United Kingdom was 4,652 dollars, staying at the bottom of

Task 2: Some people feel that the government should regulate the level of violence in films
on television and at the cinema. Others feel that violent films should not be regulated.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
People hold different opinions about violent scenes in films on television and at the cinema.
While some individuals claim that violence levels should be controlled by the government, I
strongly believe that these scenarios are indispensable.
On the one hand, it is the detrimental impacts on the young generation’s manners that make
it claimed to be prohibited. To begin with, violent movies attract all sorts of the audience,
including teenagers who are not fully developed their cognition and tend to imitate actions
conducted in the movies. As a result, these violent scenes may create a foundation of
brutality amongst youngsters and result in school violence. Furthermore, should it not be for
governments, there are no other governing bodies that are powerful enough to impose
stringent laws to manage the level of hostility in movies.
On the other hand, I vehemently hold that including violent scenes in movies not only
benefits viewers but also producers. Firstly, many students and grown-ups are big fans of
horror movies, which contain numerous scenes of violence and consider these as the main
medium of entertainment. Thanks to these stress relievers, they can arouse their excitement
and enthusiasm to work efficiently throughout the repetitive and mundane daily routine.
Secondly, due to the great demand from people who love violent scenes, film directors can
achieve resounding success in the film industry and therefore, earn a lucrative career.
Therefore, filtering savage elements will be a tantalizing task.
In conclusion, although violent factors are believed to be better regulated by the
governments, I adamantly believe that they should be included because of viewers’
demands and producers’ benefits. lOMoARcPSD|50202050 Đề thi ngày 20/01 Task 1: Maps
Task 2: Many people argue that in order to improve educational quality, high school students
should be encouraged to make comments or even criticism on their teachers. Others think it
will lead to loss of respect and discipline in the classroom. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
In recent decades, education play a crucial role in national development. Therefore, a school
of thought holds that students should criticize or make a complaint to their teachers or
tutors while some claim that it will lead to a loss of respect in the classroom. From my
perspective, I firmly lean towards the first idea and this essay will discuss these two viewpoints in a depth.
Nowadays, there is no denying that in some countries, the educational quality is significantly
declined. On the one hand, in terms of the governments, they concentrate on developing
the economy rather than educational quality which leads to the dissatisfaction of students in
schools or even parents. Hence, whenever students do not feel satisfied with what they are
learning or the teacher's attitudes towards them, they should make a complaint so that the
teachers would improve it. Besides, everything is not perfect, thus, this criticism might
create a motivation for the schools to tackle these problems.
On the other hand, some people believe that it is disrespectful when students make a
criticism on their teachers. To begin with, open discussion between the teachers and the
students can be a viable solution. For instance, they can both discuss the problems,
expressing their own opinions so that eventually come up with the solution. This approach
has a clear advantage of making students become proactive in studying. Furthermore,
teachers might have a chance to better their pedagogical skills. In this way, both the learners
and the educators can achieve higher academically.
In a nutshell, I strongly contend that open discussions will absolutely beneficial for both
students and teachers simply because students can respect and express all their ideas. Đề thi ngày 15/01 Task 1: Bar chart lOMoARcPSD|50202050
Task 2: Some think that people should not change their jobs while others think they should
because it brings advantages for themselves, company and society. Discuss and give opinion ANSWER (8.0+):
The topic of changing jobs can be a sensitive topic, with some believing that doing so equips
workers with a more expansive skill set and allows companies to save on training costs. I,
however, contend that it is more disadvantageous to change jobs since it can hinder an
individual’s career and companies may continually struggle to hire new employees.
A key benefit of workers changing jobs regularly is that they can be equipped with a more
diverse skill set. As different jobs utilize different knowledge bases, employees may be able
to acquire a wide-ranging variety of professional skills. Therefore, in the future when a new
job is offered to them, employees will be better prepared for the work entailed at any given
position. For companies, when their employees switch occupations, they can save time and
money on training. Firms can do this by hiring someone with equal or more experience than
the previous person in the same field. Therefore the quality of the products or services
being offered by these firms will remain consistent.
However, switching jobs can hinder a worker’s career as companies may be reluctant to hire
such individuals. Employers understandably may hold a prejudice against those who
frequently alternate between occupations as they think a so-called ‘job hopper’ will not be
able to contribute to their company long-term and thus it would be counterproductive to
commit resources to them. When it comes to how companies themselves can be negatively
affected by job hopping, they may continually struggle when finding new employees who
can meet their requirements. This is evident with how international accounting firms have a
higher than average turnover rate at the junior level, meaning that they are in a near-
endless cycle of hiring new people.
In conclusion, while changing jobs can help workers acquire vital skills and companies save
time and money for training, I would assert that the drawbacks are much more substantial,
as it can impede one’s career and companies can suffer from potentially high turnover rates. Word count: 334 lOMoARcPSD|50202050 Đề thi ngày 08/01

The table compares the cost per cup of coffee in six Australian cities between 2010 and 2014.
Overall, people had to pay significantly higher for coffee in Sydney than in the other
countries. In addition, the price of a cup of coffee in Melbourne experienced the most
remarkable rise over the course of time.
It cost 2.8 dollars for a coffee drink in Sydney in 2010, and an increase of 13.2% in selling

Since 2010, Perth had boosted its price by 7.1%, slightly higher than the change in
Adelaide. While people in Perth paid 2.25 per coffee drink, those in Adelaide paid 0.25
dollars less in 2014. During the same period, the cheapest place to get coffee on the list was
Canberra, at a charge of only 1.6 dollars and a dollar higher later. [Estimated band 7]
Task 2: Some people think that some individuals are naturally good leaders while others
think individuals can learn leadership skills. Discuss both views and give your opinion. lOMoARcPSD|50202050
People hold differing views on whether leadership is learned or innate. Although some
aspects of leadership are probably inherited, I believe that leadership skills can be acquired
through training and practice.
On the one hand, many people claim that leaders are born with a charismatic personality,
giving them a considerable advantage over other people. These distinctive personal traits
enable people to become naturally good at leading and inspiring others. For example,
leaders need to be able to positively influence others, either by their innate charisma or
their powerful presence. As these natural abilities are not something that can be obtained
over time, those who do not possess them may face difficulty in convincing or motivating
others, which may prevent them from becoming inspiring leaders.
On the other hand, other people, including myself, believe that the vast majority of leaders
are not born to lead, but prepared to lead. There are many skills relating to leadership that
are learnable and achievable, such as communication skills or problem-solving skills. As long
as a person receives proper training and puts enough effort into honing these skills, they can
also become an effective leader. That is the reason why there are many leadership training
programs and courses that aim to train those who want to develop their leadership
capabilities. Most people can reap significant rewards from these courses, enabling them to successfully lead others.
In conclusion, it is true that some traits of leadership are likely to be genetic. However, I
believe that everybody can become a great leader because leadership consists of a lot of
skills that can be learned and developed over time. THÁNG 2/2022 Đề thi ngày 26/02 Task 1: Bar chart
Task 2: Some people say that too much time and resources are spent on the protection of
wild animals and birds. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The protection of wildlife has become a frequent subject of debate with strong arguments
for and against. Personally, I believe that humans are paying too much attention and
allocating too many resources to this issue, as will now be explained. lOMoARcPSD|50202050
Firstly, if we allow any species to disappear, this is actually not a disaster. Some people may
argue that the ecosystems will be seriously affected if birds and wild animals are on the
verge of extinction, but this is an exaggeration. Fossil evidence suggests that the mass
disappearance of the dinosaurs did not cause any harm to other species on the Earth, but
merely triggered the emergence of others such as mammals. Therefore, we should not
devote too much attention to the protection of wildlife.
Secondly, public money is limited. So we should allocate our national budget to more urgent
issues rather than expending too much in the conservation of wild animals and birds. For
example, more resources should be diverted to medical research to find out remedies for
fatal diseases such as HIV and cancer, which may help to save thousands of lives in society.
Finally, the government can simply protect wildlife by continuing campaigns to raise public
awareness of the protection of wildlife habitats or imposing stricter punishments on
activities that may harm wild animals. Any individual who hunts wildlife for food or for
pleasure should be given a heavy fine, and this may discourage them from threatening the life of wild animals.
In conclusion, while I do not refute the argument for the conservation of wildlife, I believe
that it should attract less attention and fewer resources from the public. Đề thi ngày 17/02 Task 1: Map
Task 2: Some people think that the government should strictly control the supply of fresh
water, while others think we can use as much water as we want. Discuss both views and give your opinion. ANSWER (8.0+):
There are differing opinions in regard to the freedom to use fresh water. Some believe
citizens should have the right to use fresh water freely, while others assert that the state
should regulate the amount of fresh water citizens can use. This essay will discuss both of
these arguments and explain my thoughts on why the government should manage the use of freshwater. lOMoARcPSD|50202050
On the one hand, some see the right to fresh water as a basic human necessity.
According to the UN’s International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the
right to water is an essential human right and all signatory nations of the covenant must
ensure that their citizens have unrestricted access to fresh water. Thus, the governments of
those nations are obliged to guarantee that their citizens can use fresh water in any amount
to meet their fundamental needs such as cooking, cleaning and drinking. If citizens are not
afforded adequate access to fresh water, it would be tantamount to an infringement on
human rights and these citizens will suffer greatly as a result.
On the other hand, others believe fresh water is a scarce resource and should therefore be
controlled by the state. The global supply of fresh water is dwindling with each passing
decade due to numerous factors such as the greater frequency of droughts and the
increasing demand from a growing population. According to the UN’s estimation, the
majority of the world population will reside in water-stressed regions by the end of the 21st
century. Hence, the scarcity of fresh water should be addressed by the government through
the promulgation of policies and regulations intended to prolong the supply of water in the long-term.
In conclusion, I believe that though people should have access to an adequate amount of
fresh water for their survival, the state should intervene in not letting some people use too
much water as this can lead to others not having enough of it. Word count: 325 Đề thi ngày 12/02 Task 1: Maps
Task 2: More and more people are choosing to eat healthy food and exercise regularly. Why
and what can we do to encourage this?
The growing popularity of healthy diets and more regular exercise is the result of the
influence of the mass media. This trend can be further encouraged by enacting legislation to lOMoARcPSD|50202050
incorporate increased physical activities into schools and by imposing a tax on processed foods.
The growing awareness of healthy lifestyles can be ascribed to the far-reaching impact of
mass media. It is now common to watch movies and TV shows featuring celebrities who are
fit, implicitly introducing new standards of beauty that are often attainable. Hence,
audiences may try to research and imitate the diet and exercise regimens of well-known
celebrities and become healthier in the process. This can be observed widely in numerous
health magazines such as Men’s Health and Women’s Health that cater to this desire by
publishing the daily fitness routines and meal plans of stars. Fans can then read these
magazines online and adopt the routines to learn the best practices of successful role
models and consistently stay in good shape.
In order for this trend to continue to flourish, definitive steps must be taken by the
government. The first is to introduce legislation that requires more physical activities to be
taught at school. This can include sports such as football, basketball and other typical
exercises such as jogging. By creating additional activities for schoolchildren to engage in,
the fitness level of a nation’s population can be better maintained in the long -term. The
second measure would be for the state to promulgate a tax on the purchase of processed
food products. As consumers may be unwilling to pay more given the higher price, such a
reform would encourage them to buy naturally produced foods and in turn embrace healthier eating habits.
In conclusion, thanks to mass media, more people are embracing wholesome lifestyles and
this can be further encouraged by mandatory physical education at school and taxes on
processed food. It is crucial that the last solution be affordable in order to enjoy widespread adoption. Word count: 329 lOMoARcPSD|50202050 THÁNG 3/2022 Đề thi ngày 3/3/2022

Task 2: Some people think scientific research should focus on solving world health problems.
Others think that there are more important issues. Discuss both views and give your opinion. ANSWER (8.0+):
It is argued that scientific research should be devoted to addressing global health issues, but
there are some who contend that there are more pressing problems to focus on. This essay
discusses both sides of this argument and why I partially agree with the latter opinion.
To begin with, some argue it is important that adequate attention is given to solving global
health issues. Currently, there are many people who are finding it difficult to afford medicine
to be protected from diseases. To address this, scientists could strive to devise new and
more affordable alternatives so that those people can live healthily in the long -term. This is
evident with the Hepatitis B vaccine, as prior to its invention medication for treating the
virus was expensive. However, once the vaccine was presented as a more affordable option,
more people were then administered the vaccine and the infection rate had decreased by a considerable margin.
However, others argue that there are other issues that are more deserving of attention from
scientific research. One of them is global famine, as there are some regions in the world that
are suffering from crop shortages due to numerous factors such as poor soil quality and
pests. Therefore, scientific research could be devoted to creating new genetically-modified
crops that could withstand harsh conditions. Another critical issue is global warming, as it
could pose a greater threat to all life on Earth than most plights on global health. Hence,
scientific research could be valuable in finding the causes of it as well as relevant solutions to curb the effects of it. lOMoARcPSD|50202050
In conclusion, I agree that while it is important that scientific research should be dedicated
to solving global health problems, there are more critical issues that need to be addressed

throughout a three-year period.
In general, the majority of the hall's revenue came from room rentals and support from the
local council and other organizations. At the end of the period, the hall earned less profit,
mainly because of the increased spending.
In year 1, the hall made £34,000 from rooms for hire, after which the amount rose by £1,000
before falling by £3,000 in year 3. Regarding the cafe, the money made from it was quite lOMoARcPSD|50202050
insignificant as compared to other sources, standing at £4,000 in year 3 after fluctuating
slightly. In terms of funding, the local council subsidized the hall with the highest amount of
money, roughly £22,000 per year, slightly lower than the funds from all other sources
combined, which saw a substantial rise to £27,000 in year 3.
The total income mostly remained unchanged, at around £84,000 over the period.
However, because the hall spent more money each year with £62,000 spent in year 3, the
profit went down considerably to £22,000, approximately £5,000 less than in year 1.
Task 2: Fewer young people do farming work in rural areas. Why? Should young people be
encouraged to do farming work? ANSWER (8.0+):
There has been a decline in the number of young people engaging in farming work, which
can be ascribed to the greater allure of factory-based jobs and the changing perception
resulting from the increased provision of education. Because of these factors, it can be
prudent for young people to pursue agricultural work.
Young people becoming more reluctant to work in farming can be explained as follows.
Firstly, the slump in young workers working in the agriculture industry can be attributed to
factory-based jobs being more attractive. In comparison to farming work, factory jobs
usually provide a more lucrative income and the working environment is often more
comfortable as workers get to be in an air-conditioned setting under a roof. Thus, young
workers are more inclined to work in a factory instead of on a farm. In addition, with the
greater provision of mass education to young people, more of them have begun to perceive
farming work to be below their standards. They are typically more drawn to jobs that are
better suited to their elevated educational background and skill set. Hence they will likely
consider agricultural work to not meet those standards.
Due to the factors outlined above, young people should be encouraged to work in
agriculture. Firstly, farming jobs require a great deal of manpower to keep up with the
currently growing demand for food. A dearth in personnel can hinder productivity in the
agricultural industry and by extension the national food supply can be deleteriously halted,
which may lead to a domestic food crisis. Furthermore, farming work can be a vocational
pathway for young people. It provides them with practical skills such as using heavy
machinery and planting crops, as well as soft skills such as task management, organizational lOMoARcPSD|50202050
and communication skills. That way, young people can learn to be more resourceful and
responsible in a professional setting.
In conclusion, the greater benefits provided by factory jobs and changing perception of farm
work are the leading causes of the decline in young people working in agriculture.
Therefore, they should be encouraged to work in that sector as it needs extensive
manpower and it can be a fruitful professional path for them to take. Word count: 365 Đề thi ngày 19/3/2022

The line graph illustrates the amount of money (millions of USD) was allocated in four
different sectors including company shares, fine art, gold, and property during the period between 1988 and 2014.
Overall, all four categories experienced an upward trend in funds received from investment
during the whole period. Investment funds in gold, noticeably, increased more significantly compared to others.
In 1988, the investment fund for fine art was roughly 80 million dollars, while that for gold

art category before this group experienced a dramatic increase to approximately 350 million
at the end of the period. The same pattern can be observed in gold investment. However,
the main difference is that in 2012, gold became the most invested asset as this sector
reached 400 dollars before dropping to 325 million USD in 2014.
Regarding company shares and property, both categories shared almost the same trend
from 1988 to 1994, increasing from 50 to around 70 million. Nevertheless, since then, while
the allocation of financial funds applied for enterprise shares increased to 250 million in

Since these primary school students are often subjected to a hectic curriculum with
mounting homework and in-class assignments, the addition of a foreign language may make
it even more difficult for students to study effectively. For example, the Japanese Ministry of
Education recently attempted to incorporate English into the national curriculum for
elementary students. However, it was met with backlash from parents as they complained
that their children are already encumbered with a heavy workload from other core subjects.
However, there are some major advantages a primary school student can gain in learning
foreign languages. First, they can be exposed to new and diverse cultures. As language is a
defining characteristic of a nation’s culture, students can subsequently acquire a greater
understanding of how people of that nation typically communicate with each other and by
extension how their society functions culturally. Second, learning a foreign language can
assist in developing primary students’ cognitive abilities. In doing this, they will learn how to
recognize complex patterns and use critical thinking skills to make sense of the new
knowledge they are acquiring. Hence, such skills are beneficial for a child’s education as they
serve to expand the thinking abilities of the brain.
In conclusion, while learning a language can add to the already cumbersome amount of
schoolwork, I assert that it is more advantageous for primary schools to teach their students

The maps present how a small museum and its nearby area had changed from 1990 to 2010.
In general, the museum area had not undergone many dramatic changes, except for the
expansion of the car park and the introduction of a new cafe.
The exhibition room opposite the main entrance of the museum used to be an L-shaped
building in 1990, but later it had been demolished to make way for the expansion of the
shop, located to the left of the entrance. There were two separate exhibition rooms in 1990,
but they were combined in 2010 to create one big building. Besides these, lying
perpendicular to the merged exhibition rooms and next to the one facing the main entrance,
the restaurant remained untouched throughout the period.
In 1990, there was a large garden to the left of the museum, and this remained unchanged
in 2010. The cottage to the right of the museum had been replaced by a new cafe in 2010. lOMoARcPSD|50202050
The car park located opposite the garden in 1990 had been expanded 20 years later thanks
to the clearance of the garden.
Task 2: Nowadays, more people move away from their friends and families for work. Do the
advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
These days, many people are willing to sacrifice the chance to stay near their families and
friends to relocate for work. While this may have certain drawbacks, from my perspective,
the benefits are more significant.
On the one hand, people who move away from families and friends are more at the risk of
enduring mental health problems. Physical distance usually discourages them from confiding
their troubles to their loved ones. This is often the case of migrant workers who keep their
suffering to themselves just to ease their families’ worries. Consequently, they are more
vulnerable to mental health issues, such as depression, while their families and friends at
home remain unaware. This circumstance could even get worse if these people are
introverts who tend to distance themselves from their new colleagues.
On the other hand, for those relocating for a job, they are more likely to achieve career
fulfillment. For one thing, there are often better career prospects available outside their
hometown to people of working ages. Bigger cities or countries are hubs of various
industries, which promise more career choices and significantly higher wages. Therefore, it is
far easier for people to find a suitable job. Secondly, this can help people, especially those
who have just reached adulthood, advance their careers faster. Living with parents could
indeed trigger emotional issues because of family conflicts, which could negatively influence
their work performance. Without that potential disturbance, young people can
wholeheartedly devote themselves to their work and thrive.
In conclusion, because of work, more people are living away from families and friends, which
has both advantages and disadvantages, and I believe that this is more beneficial to individuals. lOMoARcPSD|50202050 THÁNG 4/2022 Đề thi ngày 02/4/2022
