My group sees the saying "If you like it, do it" as an affirmation of one's autonomy and self-worth. From
our point of view, everyone has the rights to choose their actions, to do what they like, to wear what
they want to wear because we only have one life to live, so do not need to take people's judgments into
consideration too much.
First of all, we want to mention about the freedom of each person. Each of us has our own lives, so we
completely have the right to choose the way we want to live. As long as our behaviors don’t affect
society and don’t against the law there's nothing to be afraid of. We are living in Vietnam, a country that
has pursued a great Ho Chi Minh president's ideal of life: ''independence, freedom, happiness''.
Therefore, we do believe that every human being is fully capable of choosing how they want to live and
what they want to do.
The next thing we want to bring up is our responsibility. When we take individual freedom into
consideration we have to know all of our behaviors and decisions at the present will lead to either good
or bad results eventually. Therefore, we have to think carefully before doing something and must take
responsibility for the actions we have taken.
Another point we want to mention is that people should focus on their self-independence and their own
character. Interests and dreams are parts of human life. By pursuing what we enjoy, humans create a
personalized life and self-development to discover and develop our hidden talents and strengths and
build confident individuals. This is the necessary basis for individual development and prosperity.
The aspect of joy and happiness is the final argument. Humans feel satisfied and happy when things that
we enjoy have been done. This creates motivation for people to achieve their goals. Also, helping people
achieve their important goals: joy and happiness.
Although we appreciate individual rights, it does not mean can do everything we want regardless of the
consequences it causes. We must comply with the law and ethics. Individual freedom must always come
with responsibility.
In conclusion, the statement "If I like it, I'll do it" reflects on freedom of choice and individuality.
Pursuing things we love brings happiness and growth in many ways. And we also need to apply this
saying to the responsibilities and rights of others and not go against social rules.
