Describe your favorite season
I would like to share with you about a season which is my cup of tea. It is summer in the North of
Vienam, especially in HaNoi which is my hometown. It often sets in 4 months, lasting from May till
August. The typical temperature fluctuates from 35-40 degrees, quite hot. Sometimes, we have
scorching hot, heat waves with temperatures exceeding 40 celsius, and high humidity makes people
feel uncomfortable. Therefore, they tend to “beat the heat” by staying indoors and avoiding outdoor
activities. Especially when it comes to summer in Hanoi, it is impossible not to mention the phoenix /
fi .n ksˈ ː ɪ / flower. It is not difficult to find the tall red phoenix / fi .n ksˈ ː ɪ / trees that fill the campus of
schools or all over the streets of Hanoi. This is also a sign that summer has arrived. One of the places
that people come to have fun and experience the most in Hanoi is the water park. This is one of the
most modern and attractive entertainment areas in Hanoi, with not only large and modern swimming
pools, but also tennis courts, badminton courts, table tennis courts, and a fishing lake, mini golf and so
on. The kids love this place and in the summer I often have a holiday with my parents to relax and
travel to new places. In the summer, my mood tends to better, I feel full of energy so I tend to
participate into outdoors activities.
Describe an environment problem.
I would like to share with you a pressing threat to the environment facing all countries worldwide
which is air pollution.
The air quality has reached the danger level, meaning that it is extremely harmful to health. In fact,
every year sees an increase in the incidence of respiratory diseases and lung cancer. There are a lot of
people with chronic diseases from more serious problems. Furthermore, we don’t have fresh air to
breathe in, especially on days when the level of particular matter exceeds PM2,5…There are some
reasons behind this. Firstly, heavy flow of traffic leads to increase numbers of private vehicles or
means of transport that have been long use. Besides, smoke from factories located in the heart of the
city also adds to this problem. Last but not least, producing a huge amount of dust from construction
sites mushroom is also one of the reasons make this problem. The consequences are quite obvious, the
life quality is seriously affected. By which I mean, contaminated air prevents outdoor activities of
people. Besides, a lot of emerging diseases are related to low air quality. In order to improve this
situation, I think the government should encourage the public to turn to public transport instead of
driving their own vehicle. Therefore, we can cut down on CO2 emissions and toxic chemicals from car
fumes.
Besides, we should launch awareness campaigns to make everyone may grow increasingly aware of
keeping the air as clean as possible and protecting the environment.
