Topic 1: Nowadays, the number of people who use their own cars as
transportation has increased. However, I would prefer to use public transportation
because it is safer and better for the environment than private cars.
Topic 2: There is no doubt that the Internet is one of the greatest humankind's
inventions of the last century. It is fast and easy way to get a lot of valuable
information. From my point of view, the Internet brings us a lot of advantages.
Task 2: (1.5ms) Use your thesis statement in Task 1 to write: -
1 topic sentence (0.75m) -
1 sentence to explain a reason or an example for the main point (0.75m)
Suggested answers:
Topic 1: Firstly, a public transportation system such as a train or a bus is safer than
private cars. In fact, a large number of people are victimized with a car accident
every year. In addition, so many people are even dead or seriously damaged by the
accidents. If you wish to have a less risky life, you would be better advised to choose public transportation.
Topic 2: First of all, the Internet is a great means of communication. Students have
the opportunity to speak to the professors from prestigious universities, ask their
opinions and extend their range of interests. People have the opportunity to
communicate with the people from other countries, find out their customs,
traditions and even visit each other.
