I. REASON FOR CHOOSING THE TOPIC
During the subsidy period, loudspeakers were an important means of communication
to promptly inform people in urgent cases. But with the flow of time and the
flourishing development of advanced technology, the birth of mass media has largely
lost the position and role of loudspeakers in modern life.
It is not clear exactly at what specific time, in many localities, complaints about
noise from loudspeakers began to appear. At first it was just an inconvenience in the
residential communities, but gradually, the loudspeaker and its "noise" became a
problem that made the whole society pay attention; many people even posed the
question, "Is the speaker still necessary in the present time, when the majority of the
public is accessing information through digital media?"
What loudspeakers did in the past can now be easily expressed through new
techniques that are both convenient and modern. But one thing can be affirmed,
loudspeakers, when placed in a special locality such as rural areas, have not yet been
developed or are not played at the right time. For example, the peak period of the
use of ward loudspeakers to warn and propagate measures to prevent and control the
epidemic has promoted their true role, and that fact also proves that loudspeakers are
still a useful communication tool.
One thing cannot be denied: loudspeakers used to have their historical place,
especially during the war-subsidy period, loudspeakers hanging all over the village
and all over the street were always "companions" with everyone. More than the fact
that the loudspeaker is a means of communication, it is also an image associated with
the development of Vietnamese media and an object that preserves the traditional
appearance of the Vietnamese nation.
The story that Hanoi strives to bring the loudspeaker to each village, residential
group, etc. by 2025 still attracts a great deal of attention from the people of the
capital. Grasping the troubled psychology of many people, we decided to choose the
loudspeaker to become the central topic to exploit, as well as to be able to give the
public a clearer view of the loudspeaker and about its use and also the "annoying"
that it brings with the theme name: "Loa truyen thanh: Nen “ton tai” hay “khai tu”?"

IV. DIFFICULTIES, CHALLENGES AND WAYS TO OVERCOME
1. Difficulties, challenges
In order to prepare the product in the best possible way, group 5 tried to come up
with many creative ideas, research the topic carefully, and elaborate in each stage of
video processing. In addition, my team also encountered many difficulties and
shortcomings in the process of implementing the product.
Firstly, perhaps because of the desire to produce a product that makes a special
impression on the viewer's perception, the team researched and selected the topic
"Speaker Ward: Should "survive" or "death"'. However, according to the evaluation
team, this is a difficult topic, and there are currently not many research products and
videos on this topic. Finding documents to learn and refer to during the production
process is a challenge for us.
Secondly, in the process of making a product, the selection and search of locations
and filming scenes are extremely important and necessary. However, this is also the
problem that the group faces. At present, some localities no longer use loudspeakers
as a means of communication, it is quite rare to find places where they still use and
exist ward speakers for product implementation. The team tried to find out and
choose a few filming points but still had a bit of difficulty in terms of time, not
convenient for moving and commuting.
Third, finding interviewees is also one of the difficulties that we need to face.
Because this is a practical topic, our team need to contact many people from the
6
officials in charge to the people to help make the group's product meaningful and
thoughtful. However, in the process of contacting, some characters were still afraid,
refusing to answer interviews, making the product implementation not smooth.
2. How to fix it
With some of the above difficulties, group 5 tried to find a way to overcome it so as
not to affect the product implementation process, contributing to the perfect product.
First of all, with the challenge of choosing a topic with few video products, we have
overcome it by researching from articles or news articles that have been written on
this topic. Although there are not many documents, but with a bit of knowledge, my
team will try to do well, meticulously in each stage of product implementation and
hope to receive an objective review from readers.
Next, in terms of finding locations and filming scenes, the team searched and found
out that a few places still use loudspeakers as a tool to transmit information.
Although the locations were quite far away, and it was not convenient to move,
group 5 planned, allotted a specific time, divided into several days of filming and
assigned tasks to each member of the team in charge. Since then, the group has also
solved and partially overcome the above difficulties.
Finally, facing the challenge of finding characters for the product, we have been
constantly trying, persevering and persuading the staff in charge of the ward
speakers so that they can help the group. With some people still afraid to interview,
refuse to cooperate, the group tried to contact and get opinions from relatives and
friends around, but still ensure the authenticity and absolute objectivity of the
product.
With many measures to overcome mentioned above, our team wishes to be able to
improve some of the difficulties and be able to produce a satisfactory product,
elaborate and meticulous in each stage of implementation.

VI. MEMBERS’ FEEDBACK ON THE COURSE
1. Cao Dang Chau Anh
The subject of audio and video for online newspapers is an indispensable part of the
specialized knowledge of students of online newspapers. This is an important subject
that helps students have the most opportunities to learn, apply and practice social
knowledge. Mastering this knowledge will help students after graduation be able to
adapt to real work more effectively.
The valuable experiences that I myself have learned after experiencing and
practicing the subject "Audio and images for online newspapers" is a way to help
me absorb social knowledge effectively. This subject provides students with basic
knowledge about the concept of press images, images and sounds for online
newspapers, the role of images and sounds in online newspapers, psychological
characteristics of communication. Receiving images from readers, different types of
images in online newspapers, how to choose sounds for online newspapers... I
believe that this knowledge will help me increase my adaptability to real work.
economy after graduation.
After studying and practicing the subject "Audio and Image for Online Journalism",
all students have learned a lot of valuable knowledge and have a better understanding
of this subject. This makes it possible for us to apply the knowledge in practice
correctly. In particular, each student also learned how to create a photo album or
product video by performing the steps of preparation, audio and video processing,
ideation and scene preparation.
In the process of studying and practicing the subject, I have learned a lot of useful
knowledge. However, the most impressive thing for me was the practical lesson
"Photo Story" taught by lecturer Vu The Cuong. This helped me better understand
how to create a story with just pictures and sounds, and how they can evoke emotions
and make a deep impression on viewers. I learned how to choose an image angle and
portray a story with themes, ideas or meanings. I also understand how to choose the
right sound to enhance the vibrancy and feel of the story. In summary, this course
has helped me equip myself with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to
perform audio and visual products professionally and effectively.
In addition to the useful knowledge learned and practiced in the subject of Audio
and Image for Online Newspapers, students also practice many personal skills. They
learn how to work as a team, listen and contribute ideas effectively to achieve
common goals. In addition, students also learned many lessons on personal working
9
skills, self-construction of ideas, refining products and putting themselves in the
position of viewers to create quality products. In general, the course Audio and
Image for Online Journalism brings many benefits to Journalism students, helping
them equip them with necessary skills and experience for their future jobs.

- Overview of the course
"Sound and Image for Electronic Journalism" is one of the most important courses
in the process of learning and training process for students majoring in Electronic
Journalism at CLC. Especially, apart from words, sound and images are crucial tools
for conveying information to journalists and readers. Through this course, I have had
a deeper insight into sound, images, and how professional journalists utilize these
tools in their journalistic products. Furthermore, via the course, by using the
knowledge passed on by teachers, the students can be applied to practical exercises
in the process of learning this course.
- Course details:
In terms of knowledge, the course called "Sound and Image for Electronic
Journalism" has helped me have a clearer understanding of the ways to convey
information and feelings through journalistic products. This is very important in the
digital technology and internet era where everyone owns a smart electronic device
such as a smartphone or laptop, making journalism not just about words but also
about sound and images. Maximizing the use of technology in the process of creating
journalistic products is very important for future journalists.
About the teaching method, this was a completely new teaching method that I had
never encountered before. When it comes to the atmosphere of the class, instead of
considering it as a class where the teacher will pass on the knowledge and the
students will note down every sing word, Mr. Cuong always tried to make the classes
a place where he can share his experiences related to the process of creating
journalistic products. As a result, he successfully created a comfortable space where
students were encouraged to share and not feel restricted as in a regular classroom,
thereby stimulating students' curiosity. In addition, regularly doing exercises and
receiving detailed feedback from the lecturer helped students absorb knowledge
more quickly without relying too much on textbooks. Moreover, with the limitation
of using difficult words, my classmates and I could comprehend all the things he
10
passed on without facing any struggle. Especially, for me, via this course, I could
enhance my soft skills since I can work with my classmates in order to prepare the
presentation and create a journalistic product, as well as time management skills so
I would never miss the deadline of the assignments in the future.
About the method of practicing, through fair and objective evaluation methods, the
lecturer accurately assessed the students' abilities through practical exercises. In
addition, I also agree with evaluating students based on their positive attitude and
contributions to building the exercise.
- Positive Points and Limitations of the Course:
Firstly, about the positive points of the course, one of the most impressive classes
for me was the conversation with journalist Thi Uyen. As a young journalist who
had fought in Ho Chi Minh City during the tense period of the Covid-19 pandemic,
she shared her experiences and knowledge about sound and image in journalistic
products. After watching and listening to her talk about the process of creating the
work "CON HEM NHO", as a result, I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and
bravery of a young journalist. Moreover, this is also one of the best press works that
I have ever seen. As a young person who accesses social media daily, instead of
being exposed to misleading and distorted information during the Covid-19
pandemic in 2021, after contemplating this project, I wondered why I did not get to
see it earlier. Through this sharing session, I was deeply moved to be introduced to
a type of journalism that combines sound, images, and writing in a harmonious way.
All of these elements combined harmoniously to create a work that has an impact on
readers.
Moreover, in terms of the limitations of the course, I long to attend more classes and
have the course extended so that we can understand more about the knowledge of
the course. In addition, being able to discuss and express our own opinions with the
teacher has somewhat helped me broaden my knowledge and worldview.
- In conclusion:
It can be said that this has been the most interesting course since I became a student
at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. I would like to sincerely thank
Mr. Vu The Cuong, who has led and introduced new teaching methods for young
people like my classmates and me.

Sound and image for Online newspaper is one of the subjects of specialized
knowledge that any student of Online newspaper should know and learn about.
This is a subject that helps students in general and students in particular have the
opportunity to learn, apply and practice social knowledge the most, contributing to
helping students after graduation have the ability to learn, apply and practice social
knowledge ability to adapt to real work effectively.
After experiencing the subject for myself and implementing a number of products
and exercises of this subject, I have concluded, learned and learned many valuable
lessons for myself. The subject Sound and image for Online newspaper equips our
students with basic knowledge about both the audio and visual part such as the
concept of photojournalism, images and sound for online journalism, the role of of
images and sounds on online newspapers, psychological characteristics of receiving
images of online newspaper readers, types of images in online newspapers, how to
choose sounds for online newspapers...
Having studied and practiced with the subject of Sound and image for Online
newspapers, each of us personally has gathered a lot of useful knowledge, better
understand the subject, and after studying this subject we have learned a lot. I will
know how to put it into practice. I also understand more about how to make a photo
album or a video product by myself, what steps need to be taken, in terms of sound,
image, ideation and background preparation. Indeed, after studying this subject, I
myself was able to directly apply reality through the products I made.
In the process of studying and getting acquainted with the subject of Sound and
image for Online newspaper, I have acquired extremely useful knowledge. But to
talk about the most impressive knowledge, perhaps I personally am especially
impressed with the knowledge of making a Photo Story that instructor Vu The
Cuong taught in class. By putting myself in the position of a future professional, I
realize that this knowledge will contribute to a deeper understanding of how just
images and sounds can tell a story to touch the feelings of the readers and viewers.
Through that, I have better understand how to look at the image angle, depict the
story with good and meaningful themes, ideas, know how to choose the right sound,
and the appropriate music to contribute to the climax to bring the described story to
life.
12
Not only that, thanks to this course, I also have the opportunity to hone personal
skills such as teamwork skills, learn how to listen, contribute ideas, and share, so
that the problem group is reasonable and efficient. At the same time, I also learned
many lessons about personal working skills, self-construction of ideas, refinement
and meticulousness for the Tet photo album product that I made, putting my heart
and soul into position of the person who will see the product to feel it for themselves,
thereby making the personal work problem most thorough and effective.
Sound and image for online journalism is indeed an extremely useful subject,
contributing to cultivating and improving working ability, helping each student's
future work in Journalism in general and me personally.

Studying Audio and Image of Electronic Newspaper in English can be an enriching
experience for students looking to acquire skills in the field of digital media
production. However, non-native English speakers may face some specific
challenges while studying this course. One of the primary challenges is the use of
technical jargon in the course. Audio and video production involves a range of
specialized terms and concepts that can be difficult to comprehend for non-native
speakers of English. Understanding and using technical jargon correctly is essential
for students to create media content that meets the required standards.
Another challenge faced by non-native English speakers is the difficulty in reading
and comprehending the course materials. The course materials are often written in
English, which can be a significant obstacle for students who are not proficient in
the language. Moreover, the course materials may contain technical and complex
concepts that can be challenging to understand, making it essential for students to
have good English reading comprehension skills to grasp the knowledge and skills
needed to produce quality media content.
Furthermore, communication and discussion in class can be another challenge faced
by non-native English speakers. The course often requires students to participate in
group discussions, work in teams, and communicate with the lecturer and other
students in English. This can be intimidating for students who are not confident in
their English speaking and listening skills. As a result, they may find it difficult to
express their ideas and opinions, which can hamper their learning experience.
To overcome these challenges, non-native English speakers can improve their
language skills through reading and listening to English media content, practicing
speaking and writing in English, and using language learning resources such as
online dictionaries, language learning software, and tutors. Additionally, they can
seek support from their lecturers, peers, and language learning centers to enhance
their understanding of technical concepts and improve their communication skills.
With dedication and hard work, non-native English speakers can succeed in this
course and develop skills to become proficient digital media producers.

This report provides an overview of audio and image online newspapers, examining
their characteristics, advantages, and challenges. The report also analyzes the current
trends and future prospects of this medium.
- Introduction:
The advent of the internet has brought significant changes to the traditional
newspaper industry. With the growth of multimedia technologies, online newspapers
have evolved beyond text-based formats to include audio and image elements. Audio
and image online newspapers are characterized by their ability to provide a more
engaging and interactive experience for readers.
- Advantages:
Audio and image online newspapers have several advantages over traditional text-
based newspapers. Firstly, they offer a more visually appealing format, with high-
quality images and multimedia elements. This enhances the reader's experience and
increases engagement. Secondly, audio and image online newspapers can provide a
more diverse range of content, including video, podcasts, and interactive graphics.
Thirdly, they offer faster and more convenient access to news, with instant updates
available 24/7.
- Challenges:
Despite their advantages, audio and image online newspapers face several
challenges. One of the main challenges is the cost of producing high-quality
multimedia content. Creating videos and podcasts requires specialized equipment
and skilled personnel, which can be expensive. Additionally, there are issues related
to copyright and licensing, which can be complex and time-consuming to navigate.
Finally, there are concerns about the quality and reliability of online news,
particularly in the age of fake news and misinformation.
- Current Trends:
The current trend in audio and image online newspapers is towards more
personalized and interactive content. News organizations are leveraging artificial
intelligence and machine learning to create personalized news feeds for individual
users. They are also exploring the use of virtual and augmented reality to create more
immersive experiences for readers.
16
- Future Prospects:
The future of audio and image online newspapers looks promising, with continued
growth expected in the coming years. Advances in technology, particularly in the
areas of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, are likely to drive innovation and
growth in this field. However, news organizations will need to navigate the
challenges of producing high-quality multimedia content while maintaining the trust
and credibility of their readers.
- Conclusion:
Audio and image online newspapers offer a more engaging and interactive
experience for readers, with high-quality multimedia content and faster access to
news. However, they also face challenges related to cost, copyright, and quality. The
current trend is towards more personalized and interactive content, with artificial
intelligence and virtual reality driving innovation. The future of audio and image
online newspapers looks promising, but news organizations will need to navigate the
challenges to remain relevant and trustworthy.
Online newspapers that feature audio and image content provide an enriched reading
experience for their audiences. In recent years, many news organizations have added
multimedia elements to their digital publications, allowing readers to access a variety
of content formats, including videos, podcasts, and photo galleries.
The use of audio and images in online newspapers has several benefits. First, it can
enhance the storytelling capabilities of journalists, enabling them to convey complex
stories more effectively. By incorporating sound bites, background music, and
ambient noise, audio content can add depth and emotion to news reports, providing
readers with a more immersive experience.
Similarly, images can be used to supplement written content, providing additional
context and visual interest. News organizations can use photographs, infographics,
and illustrations to break up lengthy blocks of text, making articles more accessible
and engaging. Moreover, the use of images can help news outlets to establish a brand
identity and differentiate themselves from their competitors.
In addition to these benefits, audio and image content can also help online
newspapers to attract new audiences. Younger readers, in particular, are drawn to
multimedia content and are more likely to engage with news articles that feature
audio and visual elements.
17
To take advantage of these benefits, news organizations should consider investing
in the development of multimedia content for their online publications. This might
involve hiring dedicated multimedia staff or training existing journalists in the use
of audio and image production tools. By doing so, news organizations can create
more engaging and informative content that resonates with their audiences and helps
to build brand loyalty.
6. Nguyen Khanh Linh
On an online newspaper, the public can access diverse and flexible information in
all three ways: reading, listening, and viewing.
However, the trend of press agencies, media in general, and online newspapers in
particular in our country as well as in the world today is to reduce the amount of
information presented in writing and increase the use of images and video to convey
information. With online newspapers, images (animated and static) and sounds can
all be transformed into informational languages.
Researchers have also shown that the process of receiving information by human
through hearing, viewing, and seeing retains information better than just reading
vegetarian text, and images have the ability to be better retained in memory than
words. In particular, the use of images and sounds makes the process of receiving
information shorter, saving more time.
With the aim of providing students with professional knowledge and skills, the audio
and images for the online newspaper are included in the official curriculum for
online newspaper students at the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
Sound and Image for Online Newspapers is a subject that helps students in general
and me personally in particular have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and
practice directly professional skills such as taking pictures, making videos, and
recording audio, helping me to have a solid foundation so that after graduation I can
quickly adapt to real work effectively.
About images, in an article, images are always an important factor to attract readers'
attention. For online newspapers, the role of images is even greater when the press
images of online newspapers are not merely illustrative images but also contain
content and information on how to pass images so that readers can also understand
the basic issues that the article refers to.
18
To get the most accurate press photos, it requires a reporter (journalist) to have a
serious investment in skills and means to be able to capture moments that highlight
the issue. Through the guidance of lecturer Vu The Cuong, the students of the K40
high-quality online newspaper class were trained to make a series of photos by topic,
thereby improving their thinking about image angles and color as well as how to be
able to "catch" the right "most expensive" moment for the article.
About the sound, in many different forms, the audio appearing on the online
newspaper creates attraction for readers and diversity for the article.
Because the way of appearance is inherently diverse, as are the many ways of sound,
its transmission also becomes a lot more unique, but the most typical and possibly
the most obvious is the combination of sound with picture. Grasping this, lecturer
Vu The Cuong guided students to do a photo story in detail, thereby helping students
develop more skills in combining the two types of skills of using images and sound
creatively, but with the right story and the right message that the journalistic product
wants to convey.
In addition, allowing students to freely create a video clip about any content and
message they want to convey to readers, lecturer Vu The Cuong has also helped
students take a more proactive approach to generating ideas and linking them
together to present a work that bears the unique imprint of each group but still
follows the framework of the online newspaper.
In short, Sound and Image for Online Newspaper is an essential subject to help each
individual student improve both knowledge and practical working skills, making a
great contribution to the creation of new content and an effective career after
graduation.
7. To Minh Tam
The explosion of information along with the rapid development of science and
technology has drastically changed the information-receiving behavior of the online
newspaper public. This change poses problems for press agencies, modern
journalists need to innovate, be creative in both content and form, flexibly and
effectively apply information technology and communication methods. message

future journalists.

before a problem. Trained in self-discovery, learning and improving teamwork.
Sound and images play a very important role in online journalism. Both of these
factors can contribute to increased reader engagement with the newspaper content,
helping to attract readers and create a stronger impression of the newspaper.
Sound can be used to create attention and increase interaction with the reader. For
example, special sounds can be used to signal the reader to important news or

and feelings or to present complex, touching situations to attract readers.
Images can help enhance a newspaper's aesthetic, attract readers, and make a deep

The story that Hanoi strives to bring the loudspeaker to each village, residential
group, etc. by 2025 still attracts a great deal of attention from the people of the
capital. Grasping the troubled psychology of many people, we decided to choose the
loudspeaker to become the central topic to exploit, as well as to be able to give the
public a clearer view of the loudspeaker and about its use and also the "annoying"
that it brings with the theme name: "Loa truyen thanh: Nen “ton tai” hay “khai tu”?" 3

Because this is a practical topic, our team need to contact many people from the 5
officials in charge to the people to help make the group's product meaningful and
With some people still afraid to interview,
refuse to cooperate, the group tried to contact and get opinions from relatives and
friends around, but still ensure the authenticity and absolute objectivity of the product.
With many measures to overcome mentioned above, our team wishes to be able to
improve some of the difficulties and be able to produce a satisfactory product,
elaborate and meticulous in each stage of implementation. 6

In addition, students also learned many lessons on personal working 8
skills, self-construction of ideas, refining products and putting themselves in the
position of viewers to create quality products. In general, the course Audio and
Image for Online Journalism brings many benefits to Journalism students, helping
them equip them with necessary skills and experience for their future jobs.
2. Dinh Cong Hoang Anh - Overview of the course
Moreover, with the limitation
of using difficult words, my classmates and I could comprehend all the things he 9
passed on without facing any struggle.
All of these elements combined harmoniously to create a work that has an impact on readers.

Sound and image for Online newspaper is one of the subjects of specialized
knowledge that any student of Online newspaper should know and learn about.
This is a subject that helps students in general and students in particular have the

concept of photojournalism, images and sound for online journalism, the role of of
images and sounds on online newspapers, psychological characteristics of receiving
images of online newspaper readers, types of images in online newspapers, how to

understand the subject, and after studying this subject we have learned a lot. I will
know how to put it into practice.
Through that, I have better understand how to look at the image angle, depict the
story with good and meaningful themes, ideas, know how to choose the right sound,
and the appropriate music to contribute to the climax to bring the described story to life. 11
Sound and image for online journalism is indeed an extremely useful subject,
contributing to cultivating and improving working ability, helping each student's
future work in Journalism in general and me personally.

their characteristics, advantages, and challenges.
Thirdly, they offer faster and more convenient access to news, with instant updates available 24/7.
15 - Future Prospects:
Younger readers, in particular, are drawn to
multimedia content and are more likely to engage with news articles that feature audio and visual elements. 16
To take advantage of these benefits, news organizations should consider investing
in the development of multimedia content for their online publications. This might
involve hiring dedicated multimedia staff or training existing journalists in the use
of audio and image production tools. By doing so, news organizations can create
more engaging and informative content that resonates with their audiences and helps to build brand loyalty.

Vu The Cuong guided students to do a photo story in detail, thereby helping students
develop more skills in combining the two types of skills of using images and sound
creatively, but with the right story and the right message that the journalistic product wants to convey.
In short, Sound and Image for Online Newspaper is an essential subject to help each
individual student improve both knowledge and practical working skills, making a
great contribution to the creation of new content and an effective career after graduation. 7. To Minh Tam
The explosion of information along with the rapid development of science and
technology has drastically changed the information-receiving behavior of the online
newspaper public. This change poses problems for press agencies, modern
journalists need to innovate, be creative in both content and form, flexibly and
effectively apply information technology and communication methods. message
download. This is also a problem for universities specializing in journalism, training future journalists. 18

In terms of skills, the subject helps students know how to process and edit images,

In addition to the knowledge and skills equipped after exposure to the subject,

before a problem.
For
example, special sounds can be used to signal the reader to important news or
provide necessary information. Sound can also be used to express a reader's feelings
and feelings or to present complex, touching situations to attract readers.
Images can help enhance a newspaper's aesthetic, attract readers, and make a deep
impression on readers. Images can also help convey information and emotions
visually and effectively. If used correctly, images can make a strong impression and
help increase reader engagement with newspaper content.
However, in order to use sound and images effectively in online newspapers, the
press needs to ensure that it is suitable for the content of the newspaper, ensuring the 19
accuracy and reliability of the information. Furthermore, the use of audio and visuals
needs to be done properly so as not to influence readers or receive negative feedback.
I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Mr. Vu The Cuong, thanks to his help
and guidance, the students always complete the work in full and on time. From the
first works with many shortcomings, through the time of study and practice, we all
made progress and produced more complete and more complete works. I would also
