Task 1: The graph below gives information about the price of banas in four
countries between 1994 and 2004. Summarise the information by selecting and
reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph illustrates the selling price of bananas in four specific nations
from 1994 to 2004.
Overall, banana prices experienced an upward trend in Japan and the USA while
the opposite pattern was seen in France and Germany. Noticeably, the cost of the
USA's bananas remained inexpensive during the period, while despite some
lOMoARcPSD| 40190299
fluctuation, the price of bananas in Japan was the most expensive among the four
countries.
It is notable that Japan had the highest banana price at around 1.8 in 1994, and
went up significantly to reach an upturn of 2.8 in 1995 but then reduced
dramatically to 2 in the next year. It witnessed wild volatility from a low of 1.6 to
a high of 2.2 before recovering to 2.5 in the final year. By contrast, the lowest
selling price of bananas was in Japan at merely 0.8 in 1994 but then rose slightly
to 1.3 in 1995 and stayed relatively unchanged until 2004.
By contrast, there was a slight drop in banana prices in France and Germany. The
former figure was 1.7, higher than 0.3 in the latter in the first year. After that, both
fluctuated continuously but declined to over 1.5 in France and 1 in Germany.
Overall 7.0
Danger: inaccurate data as an issue could limit you to a band 6!!!
Be careful of comma use!
Be specific enough ( A3, A6)
Present a clear overview of main trends and differences
Logically organize information and ideas; there is clear progression throughout

Task 2: Nowadays, more and more people decide to have children later in their life.
What are the reasons? Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
There is indeed an increasing number of young couples birthing later in their lives.
From my perspective, this phenomenon has merits and demerits to some extent,
yet the latter prevails.
First and foremost, many families believe that children should be born in the
optimum condition when their parents can prepare sufficient financial resources
and knowledge related to raising and caring for babies. Hence, they have a
propensity for laying a sound foundation for their career path and concentrating
on earning their living and saving accounts before determining to have children.
As a result, when an infant is born, she can be well-rounded development of both
physical and mental health through the careful bringing-up of her parents. For
instance, children living in wealthy families have opportunities to be educated in
prestigious universities, in comparison with those born in disadvantaged
households having to decide to drop out of school when they finish high school
programs. Moreover, their working progress and career prosperity would not be
interrupted by pregnancy and childcare if they give birth late.
It is proven to be unhealthy and unguaranteed when women are pregnant after thirty
years old, by which I mean that there are several severe health risk problems for both
mothers and babies in their bellies in the pregnancy, even leading to doom. Another
negative aspect worth mentioning is that parents can struggle to bring up their
offspring until they are mature and get married due to worsening physical health to
take care of their children. Therefore, instead of nurturing their offspring in the best
manner as they thought, the old parents might unexpectedly put heavy pressure on
their kids when they have to care for their aged and weak parents.

In conclusion, although giving birth late offers some positive aspects, I believe that
they are outweighed by the more significant disadvantages.
Overall 6.5
Your vocabulary should be good enough to get a band 7 or 7.5 . However, the
worst thing you can do is try to force this in the exam. By force I mean try to show
the examiner how good your vocabulary is because this will normally lead to
mistakes and unnatural. Just use words that seem natural to you rather than forcing
them (A8, A9).
Try to avoid repeating words ( A12)
You develop your main idea well and your opinion is clear but cohesion
within sentences may be faulty or mechanical (A10, A11, A14)
I am particularly impressed with how specific your ideas, especially
your examples. Keep doing this and you will be fine.
