The two maps below show Colwick Arts Centre in 2005 and today. Over the
period, there are many changes in this centre that we can see, including more rooms and facilities.
Firstly, in 2005, in the middle of the centre, both cinema and concert hall were
in a room; but today cinema and concert hall are expanded into two different
rooms in the upper right – hand. Today, a central exhibition area is built in the
middle of the centre for people to find information or check in. There were two
galleries in the past; however, there is only one now, in the left – hand.
The Arts Centre management replaced a snack bar with a new café. They also
added a new drama studio and removed toilet from the left – hand to the right –
hand. Moreover, they created many things in the wasteland before. It is used for
outdoor exhibitions and it is also a performance area. Many trees were planted and a new stage was built.
In my opinion, the Colwick Arts Centre changed and developed so much during
this period and it will attracted many visitors in the future.
