This works was drawn by David Hockney, a talented British artist. In this
picture, he portrayed a family’s atmosphere, in which has a gentleman, a lady
and a adorable cat. When seeing this, I wondered. Are they a recently married
couple? Despite small room, it still showed the beauty of the picture that includes
the couple and the cat with the appearance of some tiny things that the artist
wanted everyone to see and enjoy. In spite of the simplicity of the room, it left an
unforgettable impresson in mind of many people. On the small table close to the
woman, there is a small vase of white lilies. Have you ever thought that why did
the artist not choose another flower to paint? Not just an ordinary flower, the
artist wanted to put in the picture the happy scene of a small family not only
because of the gentle beauty of the lily, but it also sympolizes of reunion which
means the artist had a wish for the family would be harmonious no matter what
happen. Since this, the lily is not only used to decorate in living space, but also be
a great gift in many occations. In Ancient Greek Era, The lily also represents Hera,
the wife of the god Zeus, goddess of women and marriage. Next to the vase,
there is a yellow book whose covers I can not see clearly. I think it is just the
background for the vase and is not cared much by the couple. There is also the
appearance of an adorable small white-hair cat which is not only their pet, but it
is also a brainchild for them. It seems that the cat has seen something outside the
door, without noticing Mr and Mrs. Clark. We can see that there is an ancient
landline phone behind the man that was used in the 1970s and a classically-
designed lamp with a warm light. When looking at this picture, I used to wonder
"why didn't the artist draw a lamp and a landline phone on a table?". A long time
after that, I suddenly thought that perhaps it is a unique idea to draw of the artist
who would like everyone to enjoy his works. On the wall, there are two
remarkable pictures with white, pink and blue, but it is bordered with yellow,
which helps the picture stand out more, but it is difficult to see clearly what
subject it was painted with. The gentleman is sitting on the chair with a cigarette
one his hand, and the lady is standing. It seems that they have just moved to and
cleaned this house, and because of that, they look quite tired and are relaxing.
Maybe their clothes are quite thick, and the weather outside is quite cold. Perhaps
this room is in second or third floor. Being inside this room, you can even see the
peak of tree. The cold winds that keep coming into the room seem like people will
think it's cold, but it's not because they have the warmth of happiness that they
won't feel cold at all. Both of them are looking in the same direction. Who are
they looking at? David Hockney? In my opinion, it’s true that they are looking at
the artist. Until now, they could be a young couple whom David Hockney drew for
in a rare sunny winter day at London from 1970. But, their admirable love and the
cat is even warmer than the weather there. about:blank 1/1
