insight. My name is …... and this is my friend.
Hello, My name is……We are students in class 12a1 of Pham Van Dong high school.
DakNong Global Geopark is really famous for its spectacular view but I guess there are still
many foreign visitors and even local inhabitants don’t know much about it. Before introducing
everyone about EXPLORASOUND.…Could you provide us with some more detail information
about DakNong Global Geopark?
Yes, of course.
First of all, I would like to tell you something about about DakNong Global Geopark. On the 7th July,
2020, Dak Nong Geopark in Dak Nong province, Vietnam was honorably recognized as a global
geopark by UNESCO and became the third global geological park in Vietnam, along with Dong Van
geopark (Ha Giang province) and Non Nuoc geopark (Cao Bang province). Dak Nong Geological
Park is a complex of natural terrain including volcanic cave systems, tropical forests, mountains, lakes,
valleys, and delta, which have both geological and historical meanings. .Moreover, there are abundant
diverse flora and fauna, many rare minerals formed after tectonic activities from thousands of years
ago and traces of prehistoric humans. When paying a visit to this geopark, tourists will have a chance
to discover majestic natural landscapes in Highlands, see the interesting things mentioned above and
immerse themselves in the mesmerizing sounds of nature and humans there.
Located on "Sound of the Earth" route, the EXPLORASOUND is a destination that visitors
should not miss on exploring Dak Nong Geopark. Built inside the Dak Nong Provincial Cultural
Center (in Gia Nghia City) with a total area of 200 m
2
, the Explorasound is designed with 8
modules in accordance to 7 main themes, including: The Sound of Rock, The Sound of Fire, The
Sound of Wind, The Sound of Water, The Sound of Wood, The Sound of Light and The Sound
of Ourselves. In the natural world, there are always vivid sounds such as the sound of streams, the
sound of waterfalls or the wind flowing through the trees, even resonant sounds like the eruption
of a volcano or the flow of lava. In the process of evolution and development, humans have
always listened to those sounds and gradually become human knowledge. In the past, prehistoric
people tried to create those sounds with materials available in nature such as bamboo, cork,
wood, bone, clay... to make musical instruments.
In particular, ethnic minorities in Dak Nong province have also created a very diverse and rich
musical instrument system. Each type has a different structure and usage, but in general, their
sound, in addition to the main function of serving the spiritual life, also has the effect of warding

off animals and protecting crops. On the basis of practical research, UNESCO experts have
named Dak Nong Geopark the "Land of Sound and Melodies", advising and supporting Dak
Nong province to build a Sound Museum. Therefore, the construction of Dak Nong Sound
Museum is very important for the successful construction of the title of a global Geopark.
Because, this is the place to store and recall the development process by recreating the sounds of
nature such as fire, water, wind, light, wood, especially the sounds of people interacting with
each other. Inspired by the sounds of the Universe's five elements (metal, wood, water, fire,
earth), a group of Scenocosme artists (France) have created unique and special musical
instruments, integrated with modern technology for the EXPLORASOUND, which could be
played by the human beings' interaction and energy.
In each module, visitors will have the chance to listen, interact and experience the lively sounds,
emitted from unique interactive artworks in the world, besides the indigenous ethnic instruments
system. The EXPLORASOUND is the only museum of sounds in Vietnam and in Southeast Asia
up to now, which brings unforgettable moments to visitors on travelling to Dak Nong
Geopark. The sound museum is inspired by the sounds of nature with modern technology
applications. When you visit the museum you will also have the opportunity to experience those
sounds. Inside the museum is black tones that give us a sense of mystery and entering each room
will give us a surprise at the presentation as well as the uniqueness of the sounds that we see and
experience. With the development orientation of Dak Nong Geopark as the "Land of Sound and
Melodies", the Sound Museum will be a highlight for visitors when coming to Dak Nong to
witness and experience with their own eyes.
Especially coming here will show us comfort and relaxation in a spacious, tree-lined and airy
environment.Don’t worry about means of transport. If you come from HCM City, there are three
ways for you to choose from: go by bus, by taxi or by motorbike. First, if you choose to go by
bus, it usually takes them about 5 hours to move between two places. The price is quite cheap but
tourists will depend on the bus schedule. For the details, you can search bus companies on the
Internet then come to their website to book directly for the right price and avoid the
cheat.Second, if you choose to go by taxi, it also takes about 5 hours like going by bus but the
cost is far more expensive than using a bus. Third, going by motorbike is the most perfect way
for one who has an adventurous fancy. Riding a motorbike to Dak Nong will bring tourists
indescribable emotion when moving between the majestic nature of the Central Highlands.
However, it is also the most dangerous way especially on rainy days because the road to Dak
Nong is rugged and there are some parts of unpaved roads.
Don’t worry about accommodation when visiting the EXPLORASOUND because it is situated
in the centre of Gia Nghia City. Although it is not a famous tourist destination, there are many
hotels and guest houses in Dak Nong for you to choose to stay. Most tourists choose Gia Nghia
as the center to rest because it is also a location near other tourist attractions.

Especially, visitors should not forget to taste the famous Dak Nong specialties such as indent
soup, forest leaf hot pot or lam rice … for the journey to discover more fully.
Before ending my speech, We would like to remind you to join hands to preserve and maximise
values and ethnic traditions of the geopark. Don’t forget to visit the geopark so that you can have
a chance to immerse yourselves in the mesmerizing sounds of nature and humans and explore the
beauty of the nature.
Goodbye and see you at the geopark. (cùng nói)
