3. Procedures
A. Warm up (5 minutes)
Sing the “Phonics song”

a. Objectives: Students can sing the Phonics song.
b. Content: Singing the Phonics song.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment:
- Task completed with excellence: Students can sing the Phonics song correctly and beautifully.
- Task completed: Students can sing the Phonics song correctly.
- Task uncompleted: Students can sing the Phonics song but with some difficulties.

Option 1: “Follow the leader” game
- Have students line up behind the teacher and follow
him/her around the classroom. Teacher says “A”, then
students take turns to say the letters in the Alphabet order
e.g. “B”, “C”, “D”… till the last letter “Z”.
- Ask students to listen to the Phonics song (use the DCR,
Getting started - Lesson 3) and sing together once or twice.
- Follow and do as guided.

Option 2: Vanishing Alphabet Flashcards
- Divide the class into groups.
- Place the flashcard letters (a - m) in front of the students.
- Give them a few moments to memorize the letters and then
tell them to close their eyes.
- Follow and do as guided.

- Take away one of the flashcards and then tell the students
to open their eyes again and say the missing letter flashcard.
(The first group that can guess the missing letter flashcard
win that flashcard (for 1 point) and take away a flashcard in
the next round).

Getting started - Lesson 3) and sing together once or twice.
- Say the missing letter(s).
- Listen and sing the song together.

a. Objectives: Students will be able to listen, point, and repeat vocab about feelings.
b. Contents: Listening, pointing, and repeating.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment
- Task completed with excellence: Students can listen, point, and repeat vocab about feelings
correctly.
- Task completed: Students can listen, point, and repeat vocab about feelings.

each picture in their books.
- Play audio again and have students listen and repeat several
