1. Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to obtain the following:

Sentence pattern: What day is it today? It's (Monday).
Skills: Ask about what day it is and talk about days of the week.

3. Procedures
A. Warm up (5 minutes)
Choose one of the two following activities to do warm-up.
a. Objectives: Students can fill in the missing letters.
b. Content: Filling in the missing letters.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment:
- Task completed with excellence: Students can fill in the missing letters correctly and quickly.
- Task completed: Students can fill in the missing letters correctly.
- Task uncompleted: Students can fill in the missing letters but with some difficulties.

Sing the song of part C (page 64 Student’s Book) and do
the actions
Option 1: “Hangman” game
- Split the class into four teams.
- Draw the hangman board and draw blank spaces for the
word the teacher wants them to guess. (E.g., _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ -
Thursday)
- Have each team guess a letter. If they guess it correctly
then they get one point for each letter in the word. If they get
it wrong then draw a head, body, 2 legs and 2 arms.
- When the teacher draws all the parts of body the game is
over and the teacher starts a new game. The winner is the
one with the most points at the end of the last puzzle.
- Team work: Try to get the right
letters to get the point.
Option 2: Buzz game

- Get students standing in a circle.
- Start by passing the ball around the circle with students.
Say a day as pass the ball (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,
….). When the day reaches “Sunday” the student holding
the ball must say "Buzz" instead of “Sunday.

- Have teams take turns.

- When it stops, the student who is pointed to has to answer.
Then he/she asks a question and spin the bottle.
Have students continue the game as the same way.
Option 2:
"Lucky number" game
- Divide the class into four teams.
- Divide each team into pairs.
- Have the teacher prepares some cards (Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with
random points on their backs (E.g. 1 / 5 / 10 / 20 points) and
put them in a box.
- Have one student pick up one card and ask his/her partner.
(E.g. What day is it today?).
- Have his/her partner answer. (E.g. It’s (Saturday).)
- If they are correct, they will get the corresponding point
for their team.
- Continue with the other pairs.
The team that gets the most points wins
