1. Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to obtain the following:

Sentence pattern: Where are you from?; “I’m from (Ho Chi Minh City).
Skills: Ask and answer about where someone is from.

3. Procedures
A. Warm up (5 minutes)
Select one of the two activities to do a warm-up activity.
a. Objectives: Students can recall the numbers (1-20).
b. Content: Recalling the numbers (1-20).
c. Expected outcomes and assessment:
- Task completed with excellence: Students can recall the numbers (1-20) correctly and quickly.
- Task completed: Students can recall the numbers (1-20) correctly.
- Task uncompleted: Students can recall the numbers (1-20) but with some difficulties.

Option 1: "What is missing?" game
- Divide the class into four teams.
- Place all the number flashcards from 16 to 20 in wrong
order on the board.
- Have students from the teams close their eyes.
- Remove one number. Students have to remember and say
the missing number.
- Give the first team to guess correctly one point. The team
that gets the most points wins.
- Be ready to join the game to say the
numbers.
- Remember and say the missing

Option 2: “Racing” game
- Divide the class into four teams.
- Have each team stands in a line.
- Follow T’s instructions.

- Prepare some cards and write down numbers on one side
and things/objects on the other side, then put them into the
box. Pick one card from the box.
- Have the first student in each line run to the board and
write the sentence. (E.g., There are (eighteen) (squares).)
- Give the first team to write correctly one point. The team

- Try to write the sentences with
numbers and objects. (E.g., There are
