A. Warm up (5 minutes)
Play one of the two following games.
a. Objectives: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the words in the previous lesson.
b. Content: Joining in the game to recall the letters and the words in the previous lesson.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment:
- Task completed with excellence: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the
words in the previous lesson correctly and fluently.
- Task completed: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the words in the previous lesson correctly.
- Task uncompleted: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the words in the

Option 1: “Hangman” game
- Sing the “Learn the Letter W” song - Do as guided.

Option 2: "Guess the word" game
- Divide the class into four teams.
- Write a word on the board with some letters missing. (E.g., _ _ g _ _ – tiger) - Follow and do as guided.
- Have each team take turns calling out a letter.
- Add the missing letters to the word if correctly guessed.
- Try to guess the letters to get the

- Continue until the students guess the word correctly.
The team that gets the most points win. Option 3: "Touch" game 
Divide the class into four teams.  - Follow and do as guided.
Have one student from each team stand a distance from the board.
- Try to touch that flashcard, and say  the correct word.

Then the teacher says a letter or a word. (E.g., Please
touch letter “T” three times!)
 Have the students race to the board, touch that

 The first student to touch the flashcard and say the
word gets a point for their team.
