3. Procedures
A. Warm up (5 minutes)
Play one of the two following games.
a. Objectives: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the words in the previous
lesson.
b. Content: Joining in the game to recall the letters and the words in the previous lesson.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment:
- Task completed with excellence: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the
words in the previous lesson correctly and fluently.
- Task completed: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the words in the previous
lesson correctly.
- Task uncompleted: Students can join in the game to recall the letters and the words in the
previous lesson but with some difficulties.

- Divide the class into four teams.
- Write a word on the board with some letters missing. (E.g.,

- Have each team take turns calling out a letter.
- Add the missing letters to the word if correctly guessed.
- Give that team one point if it’s a correct guess.
- Follow and do as guided.
- Try to guess the letters to get the
right word.

- Continue until the students guess the word correctly.
The team that gets the most points win.
Option 3: "Touch" game
Divide the class into four teams.
Have one student from each team stand a distance from
the board.
Stick some flashcards on the board.
Then the teacher says a letter or a word. (E.g., Please
touch letter “T” three times!)
Have the students race to the board, touch that
flashcard, and say the correct word.
The first student to touch the flashcard and say the
word gets a point for their team.
Continue with other students.
- Follow and do as guided.
- Try to touch that flashcard, and say
the correct word.
