3. Procedures
A. Warm up (5 minutes)
Choose one of the two following activities to do warm-up.
a. Objectives: Students can join in the game and practice Pick up your (ruler).
b. Content: Joining in the game and Practicing Pick up your (ruler)”.
c. Expected outcomes and assessment:
- Task completed with excellence: Students can join in the game and practice Pick up your (ruler)”
correctly and fluently.
- Task completed: Students can join in the game and practice Pick up your (ruler)” correctly.
- Task uncompleted: Students can join in the game and practice Pick up your (ruler)” but with some
difficulties.

Alphabet Wave
- Divide the a-z flashcards among all your students.
Put students in a line and play the ABC song. As it plays
each student must hold up their corresponding alphabet
flashcard
Option 1: Mystery Object” game
- Divide the class into four teams.
- Put some objects inside a bag.
- Invite one student from each team to come to the board and
have them close their eyes.
- Play the game in teams, holding up
their corresponding alphabet
flashcard while listening to the ABC
song.
- Follow and do as guided.
- Team work: come to the board and
try to take one object from the bag
when hearing the command.

- Say a command (E.g., Pick up your (ruler).) and have the
students try to take one object from the bag. The first student
who picks up the correct object will get one point for his/her
team.
Option 2: Run, Draw and Roll
- Arrange the class into four lines.
- Secretly show a flashcard to the first child in each line.
This child runs to the board and draw the object. The last
child in the line tries to guess and picks the requested object
then says a sentence. (E.g., Pick up your (ruler).) The fastest
student to pick the correct object rolls the die then get the
corresponding point.
- Follow and do as guided.
- Join the game, try to guess and pick
up the right objects.
