about the history of Hanoi, the unique cultural features and traditional
values of Hanoi people in particular and Vietnamese people in general.
After visiting Ngoc Son Temple, we will have a 30-minute break. At the end,
I will wait from 5:00 pm to 5:15 pm. So, please pay attention to the time.
To ensure a successful trip, please note the following instructions.
First, do not touch the artifacts
Second, do not wear short clothes, and always be respectful when visiting
sacred sites
Third, do not litter
Finally, do not separate from the group
It is currently the tourist season so there are a lot of tourists here.
Therefore, I will hold up this flag to prevent our group from getting lost. In
case you get lost, go to the next attraction and wait for me there, or contact
me by phone and describe your location.
That's all the information for today's trip. Do you have any questions before
we start?

We are standing at the Ba Da Pagoda campus, located at 3, Nha Tho
Street, only 100m from Hoan Kiem Lake. This is one of the four oldest
pagodas in Hanoi.
To explain the name of this pagoda, the surrounding people say that they
dug up a female stone statue during the process of digging the land to build
Thang Long citadel and thought that it was a statue of Buddha, so they
brought it to worship in the pagoda and from there the name Ba Da Pagoda
was born. Due to historical changes, the structure of the pagoda has been
completely changed compared to the original. The small and narrow
pagoda gate is located between two houses, making it difficult for many
visitors to recognize. Currently, the statues worshiped in the pagoda are
statues of Buddha Shakyamuni.
2
It can be said that it has a rather special history compared to other pagodas
in Thang Long Citadel and is located on the tourist route of historical and
cultural relics around Hoan Kiem Lake: Ngoc Son Temple, King Le
Memorial area, Ba Da Pagoda, Ly Quoc Su Pagoda... Ba Da Pagoda was
ranked as an Architectural and Artistic Relic by the Hanoi People's
Committee on May 23, 2005.
CONCLUSION:
This is the end of our tour for today. Do you have any questions about this
part of the tour? Today, we visited 9 places around Hoan Kiem Lake, to see
their history, culture, and architecture. If anyone has any questions or
concerns about the trip, feel free to ask. I wish you good health and many
more trips to Hanoi in the future. I hope to see you again soon. Goodbye!
