Leson 1: Getting started: What’s on today?
A. Aims : By the end of the lesson:
1. Knowledge: Students will be able to know more about TV programmes and
know some vocabulary about this topic.
2. Qualities: Students will be able to talk about their favourite programmes TV and
describe the programmes and character.
2. Competences: Students will be able to practise listening skill, reading skill,
communicate and cooperate, solve problems and develop creativity. B. Teaching aids:
Textbook, computer, projector/ TV, cassette. C. Procedure: * Warm up:
*Chatting: Do you like watching TV? How often do you watch TV? Which programmes are on Tv ?
Which programmes do you like watching?
What are the names of these TV programmes?
Keys: 1. Cartoon 2. News programme 3. Animal world or animal programme
4. Comedy programme 5. Game shows II. Pre-reading: 1. Matching: task 3.
- T asks Ss to work in group of two, look on the screen and match phrases in

Ss listen to the the CD once and check their answer.

- T asks ss to listen to the CD again, focusing on the pronunciation.
- T asks some students to practise reading the conversation (role-play).
- T checks some pronunciation mistakes if necessary.
2. Choose the correct answer:
- Ask Ss to read the sentences carefully. They can ask teacher which words they don’t know.
- Ask them to choose a best option to complete the sentences individually.
- Ss share their answers with a partner before discussing them as a class..

A. AIMS: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge:
- revise the vocabulary that related to TV programmes.
- qualify how to use adjs describing TV programmes.
- pronounce correctly the sounds /θ/ and /ð/in isolation and in context.
2. Qualities: being aware of useful TV programmes which is suitable for school age.
3. Competences: enhance self-learning capability, group work, pair work,
linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence. B. TEACHING AIDS:
- laptop, loudspeaker, TV/ projector. C. PROCEDURE: * Warm up: Groupworks Film popular Vocabularie Adjs s of TV describing programmes TV
- Brain storm the vocabulary that related to TV programmes
- Have Ss work in 2 groups and give their answers on board.
- Teacher checks and correct and find out the winners.
