1. Knowledge: Students will be able to read for information about Television guide and talk
about one’s favorite TV programmes, the reasons for that.
2. Qualities: Ss will be more aware of spending time watching TV, and choose the best
programme for yourself.
2. Competences: Students will be able to practise listening skill, reading skill, communicate
and cooperate, solve problems and develop creativity.
B. Teaching aids:
Textbook, computer, projector/ TV, cassette.
C. Procedure:
* Warm up: Kim’s game:
T devides class into two teams. Ss look on the screen in 30 seconds, then write the
programmes that they’ve seen. Which team writes more is the winner.

I. Pre-reading:
1. Complete the table:
Ss write the programmes that these people may choose to watch

C. Procedure:
I. Warm up: T divides class into 3 groups and take turn write TV programme on the board.
II. Pre-writing: Listening
a. Pre-questions: set the scene
How many programmes?
How many channels?
b. listen and put a tick
Key : 1, channel 1 , 2 : channel 2, 3: channel 3 , 4 : channel 2, 5 : channel 3
After listening , T asks ss to read some questions and circle their answer
1. How much do you like watching TV?
2. How do many hours a day do you watch TV?
3. When do you watch TV the most ?
4. Do you watch TV when you are eating?

- T asks the questions one by one.
III.While-writing: Write a paragraph about 40-50 words about your TV viewing habits
- Ss work individually, write a paragraph of about 50 words about their TV viewing habits,
covering as many ideas as possible of the answers to these questions.
- Tell Ss to pay attention to punctuation, structural elements, linking words …
- Ss have 7 minutes to write the paragraph.

Suggestion : My Tv-viewing habits are good. I usually spend less than 1 hour watching TV.I
usually watch films in the evening after finishing my homework but I never watch it while I
am eating. Cartoons are my favourite programmes because they are very entertaining and
funny, especially watching Tom and Jerry. In short, I think I have good TV watching habits

- choose the suitable programmes for themselves to relax and study.

- self- study, co-operate, make balance time between watching TV and studying

Chatting (about favourite TV programmes using some Wh- questions words: What,
When, How often, Why,..... )
- Ss answer using names of TV programmes, some adjectives describing
them.
