Lesson 1: Getting Started (At the gym) A. Aims 1. Knowledge:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the content of conversation
about the topic ‘sports and games’ and know some vocabulary about this topic 2. Qualities:
Students will be able to enhance their love for sport and games; spending time playing sports and games 3. Competences:
Students will be able to practice listening skill, reading skill, communicate and cooperate and
share their interest of ‘Sports and Games', B. Teaching aids:
Textbook, computer, projector/ TV, cassette. C. Procedure
Warm up: Name of the pictures (task 3)
- T asks ss to labels the pictures with the correct words
- T asks ss to give the meaning of these words
- T helps ss to understand the difference between a sport and game Keys:
1. cycling 2.aerobics 3.table tennis 4. swimming 5.chess 6.volleyball Note:
A sport: activity that you do for pleasure and that needs physical exercise
A game: an activity or a sport with rules in which people or teams compete against each other - T leads in the lesson I. Pre-reading
- T asks ss to look at the picture and talk about the popular programme on TV and answer about the picture
E.g. - Who do you see in the picture? …
- Where are they? What do you think they’re talking about? - What is topic about?
- Can you guess where they are now? II. While reading 1. Listen and read (task 1)
- T asks Ss to listen to the CD once, then read the conversation silently to check their answer
-T asks ss to listen the conversation focusing on the pronunciation

LESSON 2: A closer look 1 A. Aims 1. Knowledge
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to list the lexical items related to the topic
'Sports and Games' and pronounce the sounds / e /and /eə/ correctly in isolation and in context . 2. Qualities
- Students will be able to have responsibility for keeping their body healthy and show
their love for 'Sports and Games' when talking what sport(s)/ game(s) they do in their spare time. 3. Competence:

Warm-up: sports and games
- T divides class into two teams s (3 lines on the right is team 1 and three lines on the left is team 2)
- Every person in each team goes to write a sport or a game

1. Put the right words under the pictures (task 1)
- T asks ss to work in pairs and put the words under the right pictures - T checks their answers Keys:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand and use the past simple tense and
talk about a finish action in the past: use imperative to tell someone to do something or to give a direct order. 2. Qualities
Ss will be able to show express their favorite sports and games and be responsibility to keep fit and stay healthy. 3. Competence:
Ss will be able to develop Ss’s creation and problem- solving about how to cooperate and
communicate so as to talk about some sports and games events in the past. B. Teaching aids
Textbook, computer, projector/ TV, cassette. C. Procedures *Warm up:
- T asks Ss to look at this sentence, give the correct verb form.
