4. Customers and Competitors
Vinamilk’s customers are almost all class and all age of people such as kids,
infants, toddlers, adults, pregnant, breast-feeding women, men, old people.
Vinamilk's main competitors are Dutch Lady Vietnam (a division of Friesland
Foods), Nestlé Vietnam, Abbott, Mead Johnson, Friso and Nutifood. 5 II. ORGANIZATION
1. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE: 6
-Vinamilk has divisional structure which is an organization structure groups
together people working on the same product, in the same area, with similar
customers, or on the same process, especially is a process structure groups jobs
and activities that are part of the same processes. 7
-Top manager are Shareholders, Board of Management and Chef Executive Officer
(CEO) who are people control the whole company and have right to make decisions.
-Middle manager are Internal Control and Risk Management Director, Internal Audit Director.
-Low manager are many executive directors and employees who are directed by upper managers.
-Vinamilk has a lot of distributors around the world and each market has a
different manager, authority, and customers. Advantages:
Each working part will receive order directly from a superior.
Improved coordination across functional department. Simplify the training.
Expertise focused on specific customers, products and regions. Disadvantages
The lack of coordinated action between many departments.
Reduced economies of scales and increase costs through the duplication off
resources and efforts across divisions.
Easy lead to the inconsistencies when propose the strategies.
2. DECISION-MAKING PROCESS 8
Each company has to do decision making process which following 6 steps:

Vinamilk decision-making process
Based on decision by majority rule, it means that the process is take votes and
arrive at the decision that majority of members agree.
Ex: When Vinamilk needs to decide to produce new dairy products, they will make
a research based on the consumers of customers on the market. Then they
evaluate some different products of different companies and make a summary.
After that, they organize the meeting of Board of Directors to analyze, discuss,
debate about the plan and takes votes and decide the plan that majority of
members agree. Finally, they will produce new products and distribute products
into the market to sell. They will take feedbacks from customers and have experiences for next time. Advantages
Make more information, knowledge and expertise available.
Increase understanding and acceptance by members. Disadvantages: Coalitions. Take long time. III. LEADRSHIP STYLE:
Mai Kieu Lien (born 1953) is a Vietnamese businesswoman and currently Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of Viet Nam Dairy
Products Joint Stock Company (VINAMILK). She
is the first Vietnamese woman named
by Forbes as being among the top 50 powerful
businesswomen in Asia (2012) and is one of

accountabilities, core values and business ethic. -An effective BM and
Management apparatus that act in the best interests of the Company and its
shareholders, including minor shareholders and seek to enhance shareholder
value in a sustainable manner. Appropriate and transparent information
disclosure, as well as an effective system of enterprise risk management and internal controls.
1. DESCRIBE THE MOTIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Vinamilk not only is famous for dairy farms, high quality of products, but also
focus on developing human resources. To have more job satisfactions and job
performances, company gives a wide range of attractive treatments: salary, health care, and allowance.
At Vinamilk, motivational environment are professional environment, challenging
job, opportunities to work with the experienced people who used to work in multinational corporations.
In order to create a good motivational environment for employees, so that they
can show their creativeness freely, put knowledge and experience into practice to
build and develop the company, Vinamilk has established the Inspiring culture :
Knowing that the value and success of the company rely on employees’
creativeness and interest in work, Vinamilk always exerts itself to create a
professional, friendly and open-hearted environment in order for individuals to
show their creativeness, also promote their potentials to make differences. At
Vinamilk, employees are always respected, listened and shared. Each individual
also understands that he is a link of a chain in a united and powerful team. Their
efforts and achievements are recognized and highly commended. That is the big

The evaluation of capacities of employees shall be based on fair principles
although there are different views, opinions while working. The recruitment,
arrangement of jobs and determination of salaries and other benefits for all
employees of VINAMILK shall be based upon their responsibilities, abilities,
experience performance, and assessment results
2. ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

Communication and conduct in the spirit of open-mind, honesty, and truthfulness
Communicating and conducting in the spirit of open-mind means we integrate
into the collective environment. We respect the differences of each member
because those differences make a strong and variety community. Open-mind does
not mean being easy in words or in conduct or giving comment about the others
in a careless manner. We act enthusiastically basing on ethical values. We act
truthfully for the purpose of our general development. Communicating and
conducting in a spirit of Honesty means all our actions and words come from our
heart. We should not be arrogant and not let “ourselves” control our thoughts and
actions. Sometimes, we should be in the other’s shoes to understand them and
