ESSAY 1A: Many people say that universities should only offer places to young students with the
highest marks, while other say thay should accept people of all ages, even if they did not do well
at school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In this developing society, everyone can access higher education, and the majority of students choose to
start tertiary education after high school, especially university. Some people argue that currently,
universities should only prepare places for young students with the highest scores. While others say that
all ages should be accepted even if they have bad grades. In this article, both of these points of view will
be discussed.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why many people believe organizations should limit their
admissions to only the most talented individuals. The initial case is that they will have the necessary
skills to adjust easily to the academic atmosphere. In fact, young people with high grades are frequently
intelligent, responsive, and possess many good skills such as independence and long-term memory,
which increases the likelihood that they are qualified to advance to the next level and are always willing
to put in the effort to achieve the best results. Second, it is true that young people with great grades
have higher job prospects than other students, which means that they can easily find stable work in
today's information society. Modern nation, in all fields, is desperate for young people with great
potential, that is, the educated working class. Furthermore, society will always be willing to invest in
young people with strong abilities to assist the country's progress day by day. They are unusually
youthful, sensitive, and smart generations capable of dealing with numerous severe situations. As a
result, they are well-suited to serve the country for a long period while producing numerous successful
outcomes.
On the other hand, others are of the opinion that universities should accept people of all ages and
academic backgrounds because of several reasons. First, academic achievement is undoubtedly it is not
the only factor that important determines a student's potential for success in a university. This is because
in addition to academic achievements universities should consider factors such as work experience,
extracurricular activities, and personal achievements when admitting students, which can demonstrate a
person's ability to overcome challenges, work well in a team, and show initiative, all of which are
valuable qualities in a university setting and beyond. Second, by opening up opportunities for people of
all backgrounds, universities can help to promote diversity and inclusivity, which can lead to a more
vibrant and dynamic learning environment. This can also help to break down barriers and promote social
mobility, which is essential for creating a more equitable society.
To sum up, although the universities that choose to accommodate young students who have high scores.
I personally believe that people of all ages should be admitted to school, even if they do poorly in school
which acts as an incentive for them to try to improve their knowledge and develop their potential
talents.
