SPEAKING 1: JOBS
Quỳnh: Hi Trí, long time to see you again. How are you going?
Trí: Hello Quynh, thanks for caring, mate. Glad to be here with you.
Quỳnh: If you don’t mind, can I talk with you for a few minutes?
Trí: No problem. Go ahead.
Quỳnh: Well, do you have a job right now?
Trí: Yes, certainly. I’m a music producer and I work at home. Moreover, I
have been getting this job for two years.
Quỳnh: Wow! That sounds great! I think you will certainly be a talented music
producer thanks to your effort.
Trí: Oh, maybe. How about your job?
Quỳnh: I’m currently working as a freelance copywriter, which is a vital job for
enterprises nowadays. Being a copywriter is what I love to do when I
was a child.
Trí: Can you tell me what a typical day is like?
Quỳnh: A typical day for me is little harder to quantify, but an average day
includes sitting down, checking emails, reviewing the status of each
project, dedicating time to writing copy and to following up with both
current clients and prospective clients. What is your routine work?
Trí: Well, every day is a new inspiration to me. My daily responsibilities
include overseeing the recording process and working with the artists to
create high-quality music. I also have to do specialized work like
making beats, making lyrics, editing and combining them into complete
track.
Quỳnh: I find that it’s so hard that a song can become a hit and be recognised
by everybody. I am a bit curious about the reasons why you chose to be
a music producer?
Trí: Actually, I have had a particular passion for music. I loved every
melody and moment when listening. In addition to this, I felt myself
every time I came to music and I want to bring my tracks so that people
can relax after a hard-working day. So, why did you choose your job?
Quỳnh: As you know, being a freelance copywriter could provide me some
advantages, such as: flexible schedule and ability to choose. I could
decide when I work and for how long. Furthermore, it set the
foundation to market my own services more effectively, which
prepared me to explore other opportunities in the future.
Trí: And what is your plan in 10 years’ time? Could you change your job?
Quỳnh|: In my opinion, 10 years is such a long time and anything could happen,
so it’s difficult for me to tell from now. But I still hope that I will keep
this job in order that I can spend more time with my families and
balance other relationships. So, what about you?
Tri: I think I won't change this job because I'm passionate about it and I feel
very excited about making music. My job is very challenging. Being
able to work under pressure, passion, talent and health are the essentials
to be a music producer.
Quynh: I hope that you will be a talented music producer someday. Oh, It’s
time I had a dancing class. I’m sorry. See you later.
Tri: Okey, see you later. Have a nice day!
