TV AND COMPUTER
A: Well, I think we should buy a new TV for our apartment beca
use it has many conveniences in the house. We should buy a s
mart TV Samsung 4K with a slim screen and a variety of sizes w
ith many advanced audio technologies. We can use it to watch
movies with big and sharp images ( ím mơ gẹt), we can even treat
it like a tiny home theater without going too far. It's interesting and wonderful!
B: I think an i mac is more necessary for the apartment.
First, I agree with you a TV is a better option than a computer for watching movies.
But at the computer we can save the apartment area.
Besides, in addition to watching movies, it also has many
other features such as surfing the web, working and studying.
A: However, as far as I know, today's TV can also entertain peo
ple, although it is not highly portable (pó đơ bồ), it can give the h
ouse a modern and luxurious look. I see TV as an integral(ín tơ r
ồ) part of family meals. It seems to bring back a part of everyon
e's childhood memories. Tv is important in urban life as well as
in rural life. The whole family watches the same TV as a habit o
f the people. Moreover, there are some people who believe tha
t keeping a TV in the house is also a blessing for them. What do you think?
B: I don’t think so , we are currently purchasing
apartment equipment for two younger, and young people
are rarely at home to watch television. With an Apple
computer would be more contemporary. Do you enjoy playing video games?
A: I wilI say yes, I quite enjoy playing video games, but I
don't have much time for it. I have to work nearly every
day. If'possible, I prefer to spend my time watching movies or reading the news.
B: Now I understand why you prefer a television. On the
other hand, for a New I mac, it is highly perfect for your
needs because it is quite convenient to watch news, and
the screen is also pretty wide and sharp. And it also met
my requirements. I also like to play video games and watch movies.
But there's something else I need to tell you. I went to
West field's website and checked at the prices of the
television and Computer that i like.
We can't buy a Samsung or I mac with $500 right now
because the cheapest price is $ 2000.
I believe we should save more money and think about it later.
A: I agree with that, we should save money and choose a produ
ct that meets the needs of both. TV or laptop both have advant
ages depending on the purpose of use of each person. Maybe
we have enough money to buy both a TV and a computer in th
e near future. Currently, the phone can also help us entertain t o some extent. MOVIES
A: Have you seen the movie My Destiny in theaters? I just went
to watch it with my friend yesterday. I think it's an interesting movie worth watching.
B: Yes, it's all over the news. I've watched it, but it's a
romantic comedy that I don't really enjoy.
A: Oh, I am a fan of this series. Almost all of these movies I enjo
yed watching so much that I used to watch them over and over
again on movie websites. It helps me entertain after stressful s
chool hours, the content is easy to understand and the actors
are beautiful, the soundtrack is also very good.
B: I agree that the film is entertaining, but it doesn't make much
sense. I believe that comedies frequently have a low investment
in content, making them unsuitable for viewing on the big scree
n. I enjoy profound psychological films such as “Where the
Crawdads Sing “do you know this movie?
A: Hmm... I saw the movie poster but didn't notice it was a TV s
eries. Does it have or not? Can you tell me a little bit about that movie?
B: It's an interesting story, and I think you should watch it.
It has numerous meanings related to love and the
challenge of adapting to a brand-new environment. I can't s
poil more about the movie because I want you to have the best
experience while watching this movie. And you know, this kind
of film can be difficult to understand but given what the
filmmakers have invested in the story of the film. I believe
that the psychological genre is worth experiencing at the theater.
A: Thank you, but the movie doesn't seem to suit me, I prefer li
ghter movies. But we can look for movies that are both funny a
nd meaningful. For example, movie six on forty-five is also very
hot. The film is also highly appreciated and enthusiastically ( e
n thíu xi ác tịt ly) supported by many people. Would you like to come and watch it with me?
B: yup, I know this movie, it's a good idea, see you at the weekend. PET: DOG OR CAT?
Do you like to raise any animals?
A: Well, I'd rather have a cat. I would like to choose a cat thank
s to its adorable( ờ đó ra bồ) appearance. After a long and exha
usting day, all of my pressures are relieved after seeing them. I
n addition, I believe that it could be more space-efficiency ( ờ p
hí sân ci) by raising cats as they require less place for their acti
vities. Therefore, a cat seems more practical for students like me than raising a dog.
B: Your opinion sounds feasible in our current situation. Howe
ver, I love dog because they are likely to be more loyal and ene
rgetic. For instance, dogs can look after my house as a watchd
og when I am not at home. Another example is that whenever I
come back to the house, an enthusiastic friend who can bring
me a positive energy is always better for me to recharge my en
ergy for the next day. On the other hands, I think cats can scrat ch things in the house.
A: I agree with you on this characteristic( ké rét tơ ríts tịt) of cat
s but if compared with cats, dogs are difficult to bathe( bêy), as
well as more expensive to shave.
B: It is true that the fee to shave dogs is expensive periodically.
But cats are prone to hair loss, it will be difficult to clean cat ha
ir on clothes and sofas. Also, just like cats, some dogs like to ba
the, like my favorite type of dog, golden, they like to be bathed.
A: But, do you think that an energetic ( én nơ gá địt) pet will req
uire a lot of time to play with him such as walking your dog?
B: Yes, but you can do it positively. Taking the dog for a walk, f
or example, helps us stay in shape. Furthermore, any type of p
et requires responsibility with them. As a result, rearing dogs o
r cats has its own set of challenges. Actually, I believe that both
cats and dogs have advantages and disadvantages; therefore,
as masters, we must be responsible in our pet-raising decision s.
A: As for me, I usually like to stay at home after working out tim
e. That's why having a cat makes me want to come home even
more. It makes my house happy and full of laughter because of its mischief.( mis chịp) STUDY BROAD
A: I believe that Australia is a great choice to study abroad.
Firstly, Australia is a safe country when Sydney is in the
top 5 safest cities in the world, in addition, the country
has common facilities such as health systems,
infrastructure and public systems. very developed.
A: Vietnamese students spend less time traveling than
students in the United States and Europe. Another benefit
is that because of the 3-year program, the cost of studying is reduced.
The warm environment is located near the equator, thus
there is rich nature, which is one of the primary reasons
you should choose Australia to study abroad. Besides,
suited for biological and environmental fields, for
example, doctors researching tropical diseases.
B: wow, your opinion is great, a lot of useful knowledge, but in
my opinion, studying in Australia has many disadvantages com pared to other countries.
As for me, The cost of living in Australia is quite high. And this i
s a big problem for students who depend on the home econom
y. One of the countries with a developed education that many i
nternational students want to come from. Studying in the US a
lso shows that you are studying in one of the most sophisticate
d(sơ phí tịt khây địt) educational environments in the world, learnin
g to solve problem topics and accessing the most practical and
cutting-edge information around the world your field.
A: I agree with you that the US is one of the great
countries for international students with a more diverse
culture and freedom than Australia. But in terms of safety
and strictness about school rules, Australia is better. This
helps parents and international students feel more secure.
If you study abroad to become more mature but in an
environment that is too easy and free, is it a place worth learning?
B: Basically, I think America's diversity is more of a risk, but it's
the diversity that gives you more experience. America is recog
nized as a country of immigration(im mơ rây sân). It is because of t
his that this country has one of the most diverse and distinct ci
vilizations ( xé vơ lai zây sân) on the planet. The people and region
s of this country are incredibly (in ré địt ly) diverse. No matter whi
ch state you choose to study in, one thing is for sure, you will b
e immersed in the rich and distinctive historical and cultural fe atures of the area.
A: Through your sharing, I can conclude that the US or
Australia are both great countries to study abroad based on your profession.
If you choose majors related to research, health -
Australia is a good choice. As for the dynamic and
creative industries, I think America is heaven.
B: I agree with you on this view that in any country there
will be bad sides and good sides. But it's all a great
experience for international students. HUSBAND
A: Do you think a man is a good husband if he has a stable job and a home?
B: I think that should also be considered, but a love built on m
oney will not really bring happiness. In my opinion, a husband
with good qualities who not only brings a prosperous (ros bơ rợt)
life to the family is not equal to a comprehensively (con ri hen sivel
y) happy family emotionally. He must be subtle (sớ đồ), underst
anding, and thoughtful(thớt phô). I prefer someone with a better
character such as being responsible, loving, and chivalrous(shí v
ô rợt). Some people might define wealth as a big house or expen
sive cars, but others value connection and lasting enjoyment w ith friends and family.
A: Those are not practical in my opinion. And, as you say,
men like you are more suited to be lovers than husbands,
especially today that everything is so expensive. There
are more and more examples of couples being divorced
as a result of the economy. This shows that a stable job
with handsome income'is a critical factor. For me, I prefer
marry someone with a strong will to succeed, face challenges,
and find a place in society than someone with a wonderful hea
rt but a weak will. And, as a new age woman, I've been trying e
very day to have a better life in the future, so I ask my husband to do so as well.
B: Well, I think differently than you. I agree with you that mone
y issues always cause conflict but do you think it's too pragmat
ic(rai má địt), while marriage is the fruit of love between two peo
ple, and character is what creates longevity(long gé vi đi)? Are you
compatible (com pá đa bồ)with them? Can you live with them? If t
hey have economic conditions but are selfish or violent.
A: You know, we don't really understand one other 's
characters, which is interesting, because if you know
someone too well, maybe you don't want to marry them.
But, If you look at people with stable jobs , to try improve
themselves day by day, you realize they are responsible
for their own future and can support you, not hinder you or just stand behind you.
B: How do you think of a person who has little time to
spend with his family if he focuses too much on work?
A: I think it's in a different direction, Ex: a busy husband
like my dad. He efforts to work everyday because he
want the family to have a better home and worry about
the future for his wife, for his daughter - it’s me. I think
you absolutely know if you have children then it takes a lot of money.
B: But I believe that if my future husband has good character t
raits, he and I can perfect together economically. So obviously,
money is fleeting(flí đin) and its benefits don't last as long as inn
er beauty. Money is no longer something to evaluate in marrie
d life, but only the inner value of love is eternal.
A: I get what you mean, However there will be
disagreements between husband and wife if you wait till
you're married and then think about it. You know, a
person is serious about marrying when they know and
accept what they need to start a family: a car; living
expenses for family; child support...
B: yup, after your sharing I think both economics and
personality are equally important. A person with a good
character or a stable job is not necessarily a good
husband. But if there's both, I think it's the most reasonable idea.
A: I totally agree with you on this. TV PROGARMS
A: Do you watch any TV shows these days?
B: Well, I quite love watching sitcoms when I have the time, I bi
nge-watch game shows all day. Because I want to be amused a
fter a long day at work. This is also an excellent approach to rel
ieve tension and replenish ( ri lép nish) the batteries ( bá đơ ri) so I c
an return to work with vigor(ví rơ). Its content is suitable for aud
iences of all ages from children to the elderly. but it's not very
popular in Vietnam right now. Many years ago, I watched High kick! a Korean family sitcom.
A: I know this sitcom series is pretty funny. However, I like
more reality shows, especially keep running Vietnamese
and Chinese versions. I prefer reality shows because they hav
e different genres for different ages, such as the "lightning-fas
t" children's program. Unlike sitcoms for older audiences, the
content is sometimes restricted to small children.
B: I think differently than you. Reality shows I think are mostly
staged so I don't watch them often. I feel some programs are n
ot really authentic, it doesn't bring much valuable content. Wh at do you think about this?
A: I don't completely agree with you, I think this type of
show is exciting. Because they includes a wide range of
content such as exploration, competition, music, and so
on. Joining in the reality program also provides many people
with the opportunity to show their talents, inspire, and enterta
in both players and viewers. It is a important fact that reality s
hows have a significant influence on young people.
B: But they are not sure to bring as much entertainment as the
sitcom, when the visual content is more refined and perfected,
it is guaranteed ( ké ren ti)to be much more fun than the actual sh
ow. Sitcoms are mostly done on set, shot from multiple camer
a angles, and recorded life, with no prompts or dub techniques
so the actors in this genre ( jớn ra)use their own real lines me.
A: yup, the reality show isn't as fun as the sitcom but it
makes a lot of sense, like keep running man VN version ,
they go to explore different parts of the country and also
help promote tourism, In addition, keep running man of
Chinese has quite useful environmental and historical topics.
B: But sitcoms like high-kick also mean a lot, especially about f
amily. We usually watch sitcoms with the family and it's a grea
t entertaining time. Today the sitcom has become a much-love d TV series.
A: I see what you mean, I also like to watch sitcoms with
my family, but if I watch alone, reality shows are a better
choice. Besides entertainment, reality shows have many
other values. They also helps a lot to the society such as
the program to find lost relatives, the program to find talents…
B:hmm, I agree with your point. But if there is a time when you
and I watch a sitcom together and I believe you will have a diff erent view of it.
A: Yes, it's a matter of personal taste and it's hard to argue that
sitcoms or reality shows are more engaging (ìn gây gìn). SPORT:
Well, I love to take part in different indoor sports and
games, and I am considering learning "table tennis" soon.
It is an excellent sport, and it requires a set of skills to
play well. In my view, table tennis is an exciting sport,
and it is a good way of doing daily exercise as an
extensive amount of movement is required to play it. How
about you? Do you like to play sports?
Your subject is also quite interesting! I believe that
learning the basics to play table tennis will not be too
difficult for me. But I also believe that playing football like
a pro is quite difficult because it requires dedication,
practice and skill. For now, I'm happy to be able to
compete with my classmates and it's going to be pretty
tough, I guess. I think I'll need at least six months of
practice and commitment to get there. Why do you want to play that sport?
I want to learn to play table tennis mainly because it is a
popular sport with my friends and classmates. Since it
requires extensive movements and physical exertion, this
is also a good way to complete the daily exercise that I
urgently need when I am gaining some extra pounds. In
the end, I will definitely enjoy playing this sport and I want to become good at it.
