5 WAYS TO IMPROVE OUR MEMORY
Whether it’s losing your keys or trying to cram information into
your head for an exam sometimes we just need our brain to be
less forgetful so using science how can we improve your memory right now. 1. Eat less added Sugar
To begin with, the food we eat every day, the ice cream, the
boba milk tea the soda drinks this question is what are
those food relate to our memory. The answer is that too
much sugar is linked to reduced memory. The big minus of
eating too much sugar is that being linked to many health
issues and chronic diseases, including cognitive decline.
Let me put it another way Cognitive impairment is not an
illness, but a description of someone's condition. It means
they have trouble with things like memory or paying attention.
Take an example, one study of more than 4,000 people found
that those with a higher intake of sugary beverages like soda had
lower total brain volumes and poorer memories on average
compared to people who consumed less sugar.
Let me stress that cutting back on sugar not only helps your
memory but also improves your overall health. So let control the
amount of sugar that you absorb as soon as possible. 2. Get enough sleep
Turning to the next way, it’s very easy. Just sleep. That’s
surprising. Yeah that right, you never know that Sleep and
memory share a complex relationship. It means getting enough
rest helps you process new information once you wake up, and
sleeping after learning can consolidate this information into
memories, allowing you to store them in your brain.
It is important to say that Memory, creativity, and critical
thinking skills can all be affected by the amount of sleep you
get. I want to share with u some tips for improving your memory through a good night’s rest:
You should get on a sleep schedule and stick to it, even on the
weekends. Try to wake up at the same time every day and go to
sleep at the same time every night.
Make sure to limit your screen time to an hour before bed. It’s
best to turn off your computer and TV and limit time on your
phone before you go to sleep. Activities that don’t involve
screens, such as reading a book, are perfect for relaxing right before bed. 3. Learn something new
I am going to talk about the third way. Trying to learn
something new is always a good idea. It can allow you to
make new friends, have fun and also have many benefits for your body and your brain.
You know that Memory strength is just like muscular
strength. The more you use it, the stronger it gets. It means
you can’t lift the same size weight every day and expect to
get stronger. You’ll need to keep your brain constantly
challenged. Learning a new skill is an excellent way to
strengthen your brain’s memory capacity.
Whether you are looking to strengthen your brain for school,
your career, or your future, you can start small today, and enjoy
trying a new activity while doing so. Just do it. 4. Reduce Stress
Next, the fourth way is reducing stress, yeah u know that
nowadays people can easily get stressed than before over
10 times. You can ask me What is stressed? Let me be more specific,
The phenomena body’s natural defense against predators
and danger. It causes the body to flood with hormones that
prepare its systems to evade or confront danger. Put it in
another way Stress is a natural feeling of not being able to
cope with specific demands and events. However, stress
can become a chronic condition if a person does not take steps to manage it.
In other words, you should take a rest regularly. Because
when we relax, the flow of blood increases around our
body giving us more energy. It helps us to have a calmer
and clearer mind which aids positive thinking,
concentration, memory, and decision making. Besides that,
Relaxation slows our heart rate, reduces our blood pressure,
and relieves tension. Actually, We are not always able to
avoid stress but learning to manage stress is key!
5. “Write it out, don’t type it out”.
The last one on this list is also my tip which I use to
remember the lesson. I tend to write things down again and
again and again and again to remember the lesson or
vocabulary. The question is Why Do We Have to Write Things Down to Remember?
It bottles down to encoding. We store information in a
location in our brain that we can easily access and review.
Encoding refers to the process of moving information to the
mind for analysis. Involving our hands boosts this process,
and more information gets stored in the long-term memory.
Therefore, we will have better chances of remembering
something if we engage more in saving it by taking the
time to write it down. Yes, it’s true, for me, I often write
down stuff that is taking up my mind and it helps to get it
off. The stuff isn't on my mind more prominently but of course, I don't forget it.
I think u should put away your laptop. You're more likely
to remember notes you write by hand than those you type.
When you're writing by hand, your brain is more active in
forming each letter, compared to typing on a keyboard
where each letter is represented by identical keys.
That is the whole of the 5ways to improve our memory.
And this is also the last part of the topic today thank you for u are listening
