TOPIC 1: INVENTIONS
In my humble opinion, every invention of our world is useful to people in one
way or another. Having said that, I would like to move forward with topic, which is
to talk about an invention that is useful to us.
Smartphones bring a lot of benefits in the modern world. It’s a means of
communication, an entertainment device and with the Internet, we can do everything
with our smartphones. While touchscreen phones existed prior to the release of the
iPhone (as early as the 1980s), Apple was the company who truly made capacitive
touchscreens go mainstream in 2007. From then, many new features have been
developed and added to the phone such as: dual cameras, online stores,… and
various applications. Nowadays, people can easily purchase a smart phone with a
low price. There are many brands with different phone designs which are suitable to
different needs. I believe in the future, with the development of technology like AI,
the smartphones will be much smarter and more useful.
TOPIC 2: HOLIDAY ON MARS
OH! Summer vacation is here again!!! My family and I will enjoy this
summer vacation together, but most of all, we will take a trip to Mars. The
spacecraft picked us up and took us to Mars quickly. The view here is beautiful as
our family is bathing in an artificial swimming pool surrounded by a semi-
transparent glass panel. Around the tourist area is a fiery red and the floating rocks
are visible to the naked eye. Although humans discovered that Mars has an
atmosphere, they also say that the more CO2 and denser than that, it can have a
strong impact on people, because of this, people can't move freely on here. What a
pity… Anyway the trip was amazing, I got to see a lot of volcanoes around Mars,
maybe about 12 mountains. Mars also has two extreme cold ends like on Earth, but
here appear tornadoes that look much scarier. Anyway this trip was great but there
won't be a next time.. "too expensive".
TOPIC 3: RETIRED PERSON
When I was a secondary school student, every teacher I studied and loved,
but the retired person who left me with the most beautiful and profound impressions was Ms. Trang.
Her figure was well-proportioned, and her dark skin looked evocative of a
healthy, unpretentious nature. Round, kind face. Looking at her gray hair and
wrinkles on her face, I guessed she was over fifty years old. She loves to wear
dark clothes. It's so simple, yet so beautiful and so elegant. She usually wears
white glasses. Hidden in those transparent glasses were her deep and bright
eyes. After retiring, she still did not give up her passion for teaching, she opened
extra classes to tutor students with difficult circumstances or students who have not
achieved good results in their studies. She cooperated with other teachers and
parents to organize many picnics and tours for us. She brought the whole school
together. Therefore, although she is retired, her day is always full of life, fun and bustle.
She loves us very much and pays special attention to weak students,
especially those with difficult circumstances. She did not hesitate to buy us pens
and notebooks to study. At that time, I imagined her as my second
mother. Although I no longer study her, but I always remember her image, always
grateful to her for guiding us to grow up. TOPIC 4: FUTURE PLAN
Good morning teacher and everyone, my name is NDH and today I’d like to
share with you my future plan, it's is a small online business in which I intend to sell
some cute items and baby clothes throughout social network like Facebook. It will
be running in the beginning of the summer next year. However, I will prepare
carefully all necessary things before. I will do the plan with my close friend. While
I take responsibility for advertising and decorating a small stall, my friend look for
some of providing companies and new types of clothes that will attract more
customers. There are a lot works we will have to do but I feel so excited and these
works will not be too difficult.
Furthermore, I also think I will have a little bit nervous because it will be the
first time I bravely open a business. But I believe that it will be successful because
online business is a new trend around the world and many people in our country
enjoy shopping online usually. Moreover, I think the online babies -clothed market
will be took a lot of attention from office women who do not have a lot of time going
around and searching something for their babies. So, this is my plan, I think it feasible
TOPIC 5: YOUR LIFE AND 5 YEARS AGO
Over the years, people change a lot. Five years is enough time to compare
every now and then. I think I have changed a lot in those five years. First of all, my
thinking has changed. Five years ago, my thinking was absolutely childlike. I
believed that the world was a place without problems. I thought that I would always
have time for games and friends and that it would stay that way forever. Also, I was
absolutely sure that my parents would always be there for me if I had any problems.
However, I still believe that the world is a great place to live, but sometimes there
are different problems that you have to deal with. And sometimes you have to deal
with those difficulties on your own, without any help. And that is one of the changes
that have occurred in the last five years. Now I have to cope alone, and that makes
me more responsible and serious than five years ago. Secondly, my interests have
changed. Now I focus more on my future and my education. I spend less time with
friends and prepare for several exams. Five years ago, it was not like that. At that
time, I believed that there was nothing more important than playing soccer or
watching cartoons all day long. Despite the changes in my behavior and interests,
there are some similarities between then and now. For example, I still believe that
time spent with good friends is not wasted time. And I still believe that childhood is
the best time of our lives. In conclusion, I think that time is unstoppable and changes us whether we like it or not.
TOPIC 6: CLOSEST PERSON IN YOU FAMILY
My mother is a person I closest most. She devoted a lot of time and energy to
the upbringing of my two brothers and I. Despite working hard, she always made
time to teach us many useful things which are necessary and important in our later
lives. Moreover, she is a good role model for me to follow. She always tries to get
on well with people who live next door and help everyone when they are in
difficulties, so most of them respect and love her. I admire and look up to my mother
because she not only brings me up well but also stands by me and gives some help
if necessary. For example, when I encounter some difficulties, she will give me some
precious advice to help me solve those problems. She has a major influence on me
and I hope that I will inherit some of her traits. TOPIC 7: SOAP OPERA
Watching TV is one of my favourite pastime activity. I usually watch cartoons
so the cartoon I love best is Detective Conan write by Aoyama Gosho. That is a story
tells about revolve around the cases. Kudo Shinichi is a high school student and also
a detective, he always helps the police in many cases. But at one day during the
investigation, he was discovered by a member of the Black Organization. They gave
him a small capsule pack (called APTX 4869), but the poison did not kill him, just
causing his body to become a child. So he must changed his name, and his new name
is Edogawa Conan and lives with Ran- his best friend and Ran's father - Mori.
However, in that child body, he still helps the policies of many inventors by Dr.
Agasa Hiroshi. He has to go to Primary School and there, he meet five friends and
they become a small detective team.
Throughout the episodes, what impressed me the most were the thrilling
details and the ways Conan argued. These scenes made me concentrate without
taking my eyes off to watch. This is the best movie I’ve seen in the detective
animated series. Maybe everyone will like this movie just like me.
TOPIC 8: PLANING HOLIDAY
Now is April and I'm going to have a trip on next summer holiday. I want to
have a great holiday with friends and boyfriend so I need prepare a perfect plan. We
are going to go to Co To island on three days by motobike and boat. Our trip will
start from Hanoi to Van Don about 250 kilometer by motobike and from Van Don
to Co To island by boat. After, we will hire room in a hotel and have lunch in a
restaurant near hotel with seafoods, such as shrimp, bib and so on. After lunch, we'll
walk around places near there. The second days, we'll go watch the sunrise in the
morning after hire motobike of people in the island to visit nature places there,
especially the lighthouse. Next to we'll go bathe, sunbathing and look at sunset
together. The third days, we'll go to market on the morning to buy things, which is
only available here. Finally, we'll prepare luggage to return to Hanoi. During trip,
camera, money, swimsuit, sunscreen, map, jacket, hat are indispensable things. TOPIC 9: BAD HOLIDAY
Last summer I went to China in May 2015 with my family. We went by
plane. Also, I left my bag at home. We stayed in a small hotel. We were there for
two weeks. The hotel is terrible because there is no water in the bathroom and the
room is very messy, hasn't been cleaned for a week. We went around the country
by bus. I also saw the pickpocket scene taking place in the car. On the way there
were many shouting at each other. After that, my family and I entered a restaurant,
the owner there did not seem to welcome us and kicked us out.
I do not recommend visiting this country. The people are not friendly and the weather is very hot. TOPIC 10: HOTEL
I would like to talk about Dalat Palace Heritage Hotel, an upscale hotel in
Đà Lạt city which I had the opportunity to visit a couple years ago. Being a big fan
of learning about history, I always knew that I had to visit this spectacular place.
As its name suggests, it was built over a hundred years ago in the heart of Đà
Lạt city in the Central Highland of Vietnam. The area surrounding the hotel is
scenic and culturally rich as there are the solemn Đà Lạt cathedral and numerous
petit cafes and bars. My first impression about this place was that the building
itself was grand and majestic. The interior of the hotel was decorated elegantly and
luxuriously with vintage furniture and old European paintings throughout its halls
and corridors. The room that I stayed in was even furnished with a pair of Art deco
armchairs and a rotary phone on top of the bedside table. From the window of my
room, I could see the romantically tranquil Xuân Hương lake.
Above all, what I enjoyed the most about this place was the clever design
that integrated the old and new ways of life. Besides the vintage features, other
modern amenities such as Wifi, a modern gym and even a karaoke room could also
be found here. When I was there I joined a group of people and we sang in the
Karaoke room until midnight. I think that this blend of past and present is what makes Dalat Palace stand out. TOPIC 11: HOUSE
I live in a house located in Hanoi city, Hoang Mai district. My house is about
15km from the school by road. The house is yellow with 4 floors and a red roof.
North of the house is a large lake named "Lake Willow". My house has 6 rooms: 3
bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and 1 altar room. My house also has the same
amenities as other houses, I think the unusual thing about the house is that it was
designed by my father so the house has unequal stairs. If you go up there without
paying attention, it is very easy to fall., nothing special, my dad very love pictures,
so in living room have many pictures about saying Dad and Mom, poems about
soldier and battlefields. but my bedroom gives me the most comfortable
feeling. The room only has a 3 meter high wardrobe, a bed to sleep in, a computer
set, and a bookcase that I haven't touched for a long time. I love my house, My
house is very simple, but it is the most comfortable place for me.
TOPIC 12 : MEALS WITH FRIENDS
Last month, I had a get-together with some of my high school friends whom
I had not met since we graduated. Then, we decided to have lunch at a well-known
pizza restaurant in the city centre.
Arriving at the restaurant, we were quickly given the menu. What surprised
me the most was that there were various types of pizza and drinks; hence, it took
me quite a long time to choose the food. After that, we talked with each other
about: family, the job, the university, the different relationship and so on.
Then, the dishes were served. The pizza was out-of-this-world and the drinks
were tasty although they were a bit pricey. We kept talking and enjoyed the meal
and drinks for about two hours. Actually, meeting them reminded me of the time
when we studied at high school and I realized that now we were all grown-up, we
had our own plans to pursue. But we all promised to meet up regularly. TOPIC 13: CITY
I was born and raised in Hanoi. That's why this city is where I have the most
affection. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. The weather is divided into 4 seasons:
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Hanoi has countless famous and beautiful
works such as The Huc Bridge, the Opera House, the QTG Temple of Literature,
etc. Hanoians are known for their gratitude and respect for the nation's tradition of
courtesy. The way the Hanoians speak is usually polite and proper, giving listeners
a feeling of respect and respect. Hanoi has a rich culinary scene. I'm sure I still
haven't discovered all of Hanoi's cuisine. The streets of Hanoi are always
crowded. Traffic jams are considered a specialty of Hanoi. TOPIC 14: PROBLEM
I am sure that everyone worries about things that happen at school from time
to time. Just like everyone, I also suffered from the pressure and stress of learning. I
had much trouble with doing English homework and speaking English well, so I
always got poor grades. My parents were disappointed in me. I felt so sad and had
negative thinking about myself. Sometimes, I felt stressed and less motivated to
learn. I didn’t want to be so anymore. I asked my best friend, Nam for help and he gave me some useful advice.
He advice me to learn by heart all new words and review English grammar.
Next, in English lesson, he said; “You must pay more attention to what the English
teacher said and remember its content, then practice”. He was always willing to help
me and I thought his advice was great. I found out good ways to learn English and I
did it. Now, my English has been improved. I can speak English well and do English
exercise from easy to difficult ones. I usually pass the exam with flying color. I feel
happy and more confident. So, that is my problem, and I can fix that.
TOPIC 15: ANNOYING NEIGHBOR
Well, neighbors are our first relatives who help us in our difficult situations.
Luckily, my all neighbors are well behaved except Mr Hardeep.
He is retired from a school teaching job and lives with his family. He has been
living in my neighborhood for the last 3 years. He is very tall and have a big beard.
According to me, he is the most annoying person in the world. Firstly, he is very
rude and impolite with everyone. Secondly, he always have a big party in midnight,
and turn on the speaker very loud. I cant sleep for a week. So I called the police to
solve this problem and move house.
To be honest, I never saw any person like him who is unresponsible, rude,

so many people in the room. The second is the teacher, I was very surprised because

I am writing to complain about the poor service I received at your hotel on November 10th, 2022.
I stayed at your hotel on that day. The weather unexpectedly turned bad with strong
wind and heavy rain. The roof of my room was leaking rain water, and the heater
was not working well. I reported the problem to your customer service at the front
desk, but nothing was done at all. Then I asked them to change my room, but
unfortunately there was no available room at that time. With two days and one nighr
in very poor conditions, I soon got sick. Returning home, I had to ask my boss for
two more day off and missed one important meeting.
I would suggest that you pay more attention to your service center and take better
care of your customers to make sure that the same problem will not happen again.
Next time, I will not choose to stay at your hotel and tell my family and friends about
my bad experience at your hotel if I see no improvement in your service.
