1. About Vinamilk company:
Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (also known as Vinamilk) is headquartered
at No. 10, Tan Trao Street, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Vinamilk, the
15th largest firm according to United Nations Development Programme, is a company
that produces milk and milk-based goods with 44 years of age, established on August
20th 1976 and the current motto of Vinamilk since 2010 is: raise high Viet Nam.
Vinamilk is known as the big fish in the milk industry, accounted for over 50% of the
market for fresh milk, around 80% for the market for eating yogurt and condensed milk,
… With over 6000 employees in total, Vinamilk has more than 200.000 retailing stores in
all 63 provinces in Vietnam as well as exports to 54 countries including America, France or Canada
Summarizing the history of the company, since first established, the name of the brand
was Milk - Coffee Vietnam company. It was the merge of 3 smaller milk factory
including Thong Nhat factory, Truong Tho factory and Dielac Formula Milk factory. In
1982, it changed its name to Milk - Coffee - Candy 1 trust company. Since 1992, the firm
officially took the name Vietnam Milk Joint stock company, abbreviated as Vinamilk. 1.1. Vision:

"Vinamilk is committed to providing the community with top quality and high-quality

2. Internal and external recruitment: 2.1.
What is internal recruitment?
Internal recruitment refers to the evaluation and selection of existing employees in the
organization when they move to another job within the company. Based on the
experience, working time and recent achievements to make an assessment of the
employees. After that, the selection will be made for a job transfer or promotion. Many
companies have used this method because existing employees have proven their
competence and worth. Moreover, they have adapted to the working environment so
using internal selection is the method usually chosen first.
However, this leads to employees who do not have enough creative ideas with new
people or do not try to get promoted because many are already satisfied with their current
jobs. When promoting or changing jobs, the old position will be vacant. 2.2.
What is external recruitment?
External recruitment is the evaluation and selection of candidates from outside the
enterprise. They use different types of assessment methods. Initial review of resume,
cover letter, cover letter, background check, handwriting analysis, literacy test and initial interview will be reviewed.
External recruitment will bring many candidates to choose the most suitable person for
the position. Candidates who will present themselves at their best show that they are a
good fit for the position they are applying for. New employees often have many ideas and
creativity to develop the business and promote themselves.
However, it will take time for them to adapt to the new job and training is also time-
consuming and expensive. There will be some risks such as that they are not suitable for
the job applied for. This is a common occurrence when hiring outside. Moreover, it can
cause internal disputes over positions and lead to disunity in the company. 5 3. Problems:
Vinamilk's recruitment process is very methodical and reasonable, but in fact there are
still some limitations such as:
Process steps are often not fully applied. It is minimized to "pick and use". Take time to train and guide new employees.
They often skip the important recruiting stages and keep it simple. Focus on costs in
recruiting and hiring and forget that each step of the process is equally important.
When Vinamilk uses internal recruitment method, they have no other person to fill the
vacancies of former employees and leave a void for the organization's workforce. Their
human resources tend to be taken from the bottom up, leading to them not being able to
take advantage of the suitable labor resources for that position, so they cannot make the
most of the labor resources. When businesses want someone to fill a new position, they
need to train one or two more people for the vacancy so they can keep up with the work
or hire someone new for the job.
When recommending people who are doing organizational work, it is necessary to
prevent the formation of "unelected" groups, creating factions, causing internal conflicts
that affect management and work quality. Unable to change the quality of labor, not
creating a new breath of life in the enterprise. Existing employees often feel comfortable
with their current jobs and do not want to change. So businesses need to hire new people
because they will come up with new ideas and try to advance. 6
4. Solution of problems:
Some solutions to solve Vinamilk's recruitment problems:
Don't just use an internal recruiting method. Alternately apply internal and external methods for maximum effect.
_ When recruiting internally, Vinamilk often leaves the old position blank. Therefore,
they must externally recruit some of the right candidates for the job to avoid creating a
gap in the enterprise's workforce.
_The needs of enterprises analyze the situation of human resources on the basis of
production and business activities of enterprises. On that basis, determine human resource needs.
_ Analyze human resources in the labor market on that basis to identify potential sources
and vacancies for enterprises. From there, it is possible to recruit workers with
appropriate expertise and save costs.
_Have a recruitment plan such as forecasting current and future human resource needs,
current human resource status to offer the most reasonable recruitment plan.
_Build up a printed job description corresponding to each position, mandatory
requirements for members. Thus, the process of reviewing and filtering applications will
be more efficient and the company will also select the right employees. 7 CONCLUSION
Our team learned about Vinamilk's recruitment method, tried to find problems in their
recruitment and came up with solutions.
Vinamilk is a company that has developed very successfully over the years. The
recruitment method of the human resources department has greatly assisted in building a
team of employees in different fields and bringing Vinamilk to new heights.
However, Vinamilk's recruitment method also has some difficulties, causing some
obstacles for the company. Therefore, the human resources department needs to carefully
