Topic: The use of mobile phone is an antisocial as smoking. Smoking is banned in certain place so mobile
phone should be banned like smoking. To what extent do you agree or disagree.
Some argue that using mobile phones and smoking tobacco are equally harmful to society; therefore,
prohibiting people from using their phones in some particular places, just like how we are banning
smoking, is strictly neccessary. However, in this essay, I will challenge this school of thought.
Admittedly, it seems reasonable to say that using smartphone is as antisocial as smoking, so they should
be banned in certain areas. This idea is based on the fact that both activities can cause far-reaching
health implications such as eye strain, heart disease or even cancer; hence; a ban on these habits needs
to be placed in public spaces and perhaps at the workplace for the sake of all citizens.
However, I firmly believe that a restriction on using cell phones would not yield any noticeable results.
The reason for this belief is that even if the state imposes such a ban in some particular ares, it is nearly
impossible to protect citizens from the aforementioned health issues since these individuals would still
over sue their smatphones at home, which is uncontrollable. Of course, one might argue that this
restriction would discourage smartphone users from disturbing other people in public areas, but this
thinking is flawed, as a pair of headphones can easily solve the problem.
On the other hand, it is factual that smoking ban is pubilc areas is of great advantage. Serveral reseaches
have shown that not only does smoking cause damage to the smoker’s health, but is also affects people
around them, as second -hand smoke is equally as detrimental. For this reason, although this restriction
from the goverment cannot force smokers to quit smoking, non- smokers would reap significant health
benefits from banning cigarettes in public places.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree with the proposal that, like smoking, using mobile phones should not
be allowed in certain places. This is because a ban on the use of smartphones would be worthless to
impose, and therefore should not be adopted. Topic: SIMPLE WATER
The diagram demonstrates the procedure to filter unfiltered water from two separate tanks into potable water.
In general, the unclean water must pass through numerous stages of filtration to be obtained for
drinking before being transferred to another storage tank. Additionally, no interference from machinery
or chemicals is used during the entire process.
Raw water is placed into a glass container at the beginning of the operation, where it filters primarily.
The water then immediately undergoes a step of liquid filtration through three distinct layers. The first
layer is sand followed by a layer of charcoal, and finally a layer of gravel. Following the whole procedure,
the sediment debris that was previously present in impure water is trapped between these substances,
guaranteeing that all water pollutants have been eliminated.Through a conduit linking the two tanks
filtered water that is safe for human consumption is transported to another tank for storage. Until it is
ordered to flow outside through the tap by people, the water is kept clean within the tank.
Topic: Some people believe that watching television is bad for children in every way.Others, however, say
that television is good for children as thay develop and grow up. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
The role of television in children’s development has been a subject of ongoing debate, with some
individuals vehemently opposing it, while others advocate for its potential benefits. From my
perspective, television can be beneficial if appropriately utilised.
Those who argue against children watching television often raise valid points. Primarily, they cite the
negative impacts on children’s physical health as a concern. With prolonged screen time, children are
less likely to engage in physical activity, potentially leading to health issues such as obesity. Furthermore,
they worry about the influence of harmful content. Children, being impressionable, can easily internalise
violent or inappropriate behavior decipted in certain shows, leading to negative behavioral outcomes.
On the other hand, advocates for children’s television viewing highlight its educational benefits. Many
television programmes are designed to be both entertaining and instructive, providing children with a
wealth of knowledge about the world, aiding their cognitive development. Shows that portray different
cultures, wildlife, or scientific concepts can stimulate children’s curiosity and broaden their
understanding. Television can also teach moral values and social skills through well-crafted narratives and character interactions
In my opinion, the key lies in moderation and guidance. While unrestricted, unmonitored television
viewing can indeed have detrimental effects, a balanced approach can turn television into a valuable
education tool. Parents and caregivers should control the amount of screen time and ensure that the
content children watch is age-appropriate and beneficial.
In conclusion, while the concerns about children watching television are justified, its potential as a
developmental tool cannot be dismissed. The onus is on parents and caregivers to utilise it judiciously to
foster a balanced growth environment for children.
Topic: The diagram below show the development of the horse over a period of 40 million years. The
evolution of the horse, with particular emphasis on the changing foot structure.Summarize the
information by selecting and reporting the main/feature and make comparision where revelant.
The given diagrams illustrate the development of the horse over a 40 million years time period.
Overall, it is observable that the species have doubled in size, especially since the foot has completely
changed its structure from being five-toed to being a hoof.
Despite the differences in the size of the eohippus compared directly to the modern horse or the prior
species such as Mesohippus and Merychippus, the overall structure of the horse (including head, body,
tail, and neck) resents some similarities. But the most observable evolution that is worth mentioning is
the fact that the horse has evolved from the size of a domestic goat to a full-sized modern horse after 40 million years.
The foot itself has evolved dramatically from 40 million years ago being multi-toed, not dissimilar to a
primate’s hand perhaps, to converting to three toes 10 million years later, with the central one being
slightly reminiscent of a modern hoof, though much smaller. Then only minor changes had happened up
to 15 million years back before the foot became the hoof which is so familiar up to now, consisting of a
single rounded protective outer bone structure with a radically different lower leg bone arrangement,
now having only 4 bones, which supports the greatly increase load.
Topic: The diagram of development of cutting tools in the stone age. One was made 1.4 million years
ago, and the other was made 800 thousand years ago (viewing from back view, front view and side view)
The illustrations display how stone-cutting tools changed through two distinct epochs of the Stone Age.
Overall, it is apparent that, through time, the tool evolved from a raw piece of stone to an improved
form for better use A smoother surface and a sharper cho serve as examples of the modifications,
illuminating the development of human skills.
As shown, tool A first materialized 1.4 years ago, with a look akin to a natural stone. This poor shape
appeared to cause some degree of discomfort while holding it because of its rough surface and small
length. Additionally, cutting was hampered by the circular chop when seen from three different
perspectives. The tools depicted during this period were of inferior quality, with lengths of less than 10 centimeters.
Tool B was developed after 600,000 years and was noted for having a distinctive shape that is
approximately a teardrop. The chop was meticulously honed for greater precision, and the bottom was
buffed. The ancient people’s task of grasping and chopping was made simple since the size of the bottom
was substantially wider than the chop. In addition, the next iteration of the instrument was longer, measuring over 10 centimeters.
Topic: The charts below show the results of a survey of adult education. The first chart shows the
reasons why adults decide to study. The pie chart shows how people think the costs of adult education should be shared.
The bar chart demonstrates the adults’ reasons for education. The pie illustrates how the tuition cost
should be allocated across three social groups. In general, adult learners tend to be motivated more by a
desire to learn and earn credentials than by a desire to interact with others. Additionally, many people
believe that individuals bear a significant portion of the expense of education.
According to the bar chart, around two-fifths of people who participate in surveys indicate that obtaining
a degree and appreciating the topics they are studying are the main motivations for learning, whilst over
60% pursue education for its benefits to their current employment, greater possibilities for promotion,
and learning delight, with about 20% for each of these reasons. In addition, only a small percentage of
people (9%) are interested in making friends, and this statistic is somewhat lower than that of job- hopping intention.
According to the pie chart, 40% of poll respondents think that people should be liable for their tuition
costs. A sizable proportion of people, nevertheless, have opposing views. More precisely, 25% of
respondents believe taxpayers ought to shoulder the cost of the course, whereas 35% of respondents,
who make up a somewhat larger group, suggest that employees should cover this cost.
Topic:The graph and chart below give information on the average daily and minimum temperatures in
degree Celsius(oC) and the average number of days with rainfall each month for two Australia cities.
The line graph and bar chart compare Brisbane and Canberra weather reports concerning average daily
temperature (in Celsius) and the number of rainy days per month.
In general, Canberra usually has milder temperatures and less precipitation than Brisbane does.
Additionally, the coldest and dried days tend to fall in the middle of the year in both cities.
As shown by Brisbane’s data, the maximum temperatures are continuously over 25 degrees from
October to March, peaking at 30 degrees in February. The lowest temperature, meanwhile, never drops
below 15 degrees. The weather begins to get cooler in the remaining months, particularly during the
three summer months when the temperature hovers around 10 degrees. The highest degree is also
beyond 20. The highest temperature in Canberra runs from 10 to 25 degrees, whereas the opposite
category’s data is almost always 10 degrees lower.
Furthermore, from June to October, there are only five months in which Canberra has more rainy days
than Brisbane. The latter only experiences seven to eight rainy days throughout this time, compared to
the former’s eight to 10 wet days. The number of days with rainfall in Canberra decreases to seven or
eight days in the other months, whereas Brisbane noticeably outperforms with a range of ten to
fourteen days, especially during the wettest months from December to April.
The topic:If old people are no longer physically, mentally or financially able to look after themselves,
younger family members should be legally responsible for supporting them. To what extent do you agree or disagree
Aging typically results in a decline in physical and mental well-being, which has a detrimental impact on
senior people’s earning potentia. While it is unquestionably the duty of the younger family members to
care for the elderly, governmental authorities should also take their part in assisting the late life of the citizens.
Above any external support from society, family members, who are believed to share the same origin,
should take care of the elderly. As a matter of fact, in various Asian societies, notably Vietnam and China,
this has become a social norm, and individuals who do not comply are regarded as undutiful. Besides,
the elder in the family might play a crucial role in raising the children; hence, being taken care of by the
younger when they get older is rational. However, some families, especially in Western society, decide to
place elderly family in nursing homes for qualified medical attention. The author favors this solution, yet
many nations that respect young people’s direct home duties continue to reject it.
Aside from support of their own families, elderly citizens deserve government assistance due to their
decades of contribution to the nation. An outstanding instance of a nation having a extensive financial
budget for assisting the elderly is Vietnam. Vietnamese nationals receive a substantial pension in their
ole age, allowing them to maintain and fund their own lives with or without the help of their offspring.
Furthermore, this assistance also alleviates the burdens to finance a great number of people in the younger generations.
In conclusion, young people are considered to be in charge of caring for elderly family members.
However, this obligation should not simply fall on young people; instead, they ought to seek goverment
assistance as a means of honoring older individuals for their commitment.
Topic: The plan below how the ground floor or a particular building has changed over time.
Task 1: The plans below show how the ground of a particular buiding has changed over time. Summarize
the information by selecting and reporting the main features.
Changes in the layout of the ground floor after three times of repurposing, commencing from 1958 are presented in the maps.
A deeper examination reveals that the floor was first used as an office before being turned into an
apartment complex and, later, a florist. Noticeably, facilities are modified appropriately for different purposes.
As shown, from 1958 to 1984, the floor’s amenities were separated into two distinct sections. A
conference room, two offices for an assistant and a secretary, and a restroom were all located on the
left; in contrast, the other side housed the kitchen, the manager’s office, and the reception area. In
1985, the floor was reconstructed into an apartment building with major alternations including the
demolition of assistance and secretary’s offices and the expansion of a meeting room and toilet for a
living room and a bathroom with shower respectively. Additionally, two separate bedrooms were made
out of the manager’s office and reception space
A flower business has been operating since 2001. Over the years, the kitchen has prominently remained,
but the bedrooms have been replaced with an office and a flower display area together with the one on
the left. Spaces for gift cards and a playground are similarly used in place of housing amenities, albeit
they are significantly smaller.
Topic:The bar graph shows the global sales(in billions of dollars) of different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006.
The bar graph compares the variations in global income from four distinct kinds of digital games over a
period of seven years starting in 2000.
A deeper look reveals that, aside from console games, the income for other categories increased, with
handheld games staying the most prevalent during the period. Interestingly, even though mobile phones
and internet games were released later, their turnover had the greatest resurgence.
As shown, children only had access to console and handheld games in the year 2000. Starting, the latter
brought in roughly $12 billion, which was twice as much as the former. Throughout the subsequent six
years, a contrasting trend was noticed. While console games saw a having in sales, making them the
least popular category, the income from portable games steadily increased to around $18 billion.
Looking at the more recent inventions, internet games debuted in 2001 and had an estimated $1 billion
in sales. The next year saw the launch of mobile games, with initial sales of about $2 billion being
comparable to those internet games. Both sorts of games saw their sales soar to almost $7 billion and $9
billion, respectively, during a 6-year development period.
Topic: Some people think that the best way to increase road safety is to increase the minimum legal age
for driving cars or riding motobikes. To what extend do you agree or disagree.
Increasing the minimum legal age for road drivers is deemed to be of paramount importance to hinder
the growth of traffic accidents, which I partly concur with.
Prohibiting young drivers on the road has certain merits. One of which is the mature mind when people
get older, thus they could be more conscious of their actions coming with consequences. Driving with
high speed is an illustration since some adolescents nowadays view it to be an adventurous activity
whilst the middle-age understand the risks of hitting someone and thereby avert it. Theoretically,
increasing the minimum legal age, which is normally 16 years old, could address the situation, but the
truth shows that numerous other wrongdoing, not just age, cause many more road accidents.
To elaborate overdrinking could be a major contributor to road accidents. In several countries, alcoholic
beverages are a must in celebrations. The fact that accidents increase over the Tet vacation in Vietnam
would be clear proof. Yet, people with excessive alcohol consumption could be at any ages, from senior
and middle-aged citizens to even teenagers in some parts of the world, hence the harsh penalties on the
use of alcoholic drinks could be better help strengthen road safety. Besides, driving distrations might be
a problem as well, and they are not always related to age. An example is a Vietnamese truck driver
caused the demise of eight people only by failing to pay attention to the road in favor of his phone. As a
result, raising the legal age could be one, but not the best solution as raising the residential awareness in
terms of avoiding alcoholic consumption or paying attention to driving could also ameliorate the situation.
In conclusion, while people’s perpective concering the increase in the lowest age legal for driving could
do some parts of assistance. I do not assent that this is the most effective resolution as road accidents
could result from two other factors mentioned, which also need to be encroached by goverments.

Topic: Scientists believe that the computers will become more intelligent than human beings. Some
people find it positive while others think it is a negative development. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
The introduction of Chat GPT in recent days has brought to discussion whether human intelligence is
inferior compared to the evelopment of techonology. A section of individuals advocate the merits in light
of this improvement while I stand in side of the opponents.
On the other hand, the penetration of technology has assisted society in storing a massive amount of
knowlege, especially the invention of a memory card in the 21st century with the ability to stockpile
information equivalent to one thousand books. This event marks the beginning of a century, when
human knowledge is perserved regarless of length of time and amount. Furthermore, the intellligence of
computers is also employed in solving monotonous tasks such as calculating different numbers and
crafting products in factories. Due to the business owner’s ability to utilize the equipment to their best
potential, the budget for hiring new employees has been significantly reduced.
On the other hand, the author concurs that this could be a detrimental development since the
creativeness, which is a unique trait of human beings, is declining. An instance is the invention of Chat
GPT, wich possesses the ability to write essays and even make a list of ideas for social content creators.
While it seems to make life easier, the growing dependence on these applications might destroy human’s
determination to innovate.Beside, the employment of computers for storing information also poses risks
since the system could be attacked by viruses and hackers. This is a reason why top secrect documents in
coutries in the world are normally kept in papers, not computers.
In conclusion, computers have aspects, such as the gigantic memory and the ability to solve repeated
tasks, exceeding human beings; however, the society needs to be aware of challenges concerning the
decreased creativity and vulnerable system.
Topic: The picture below shows the process of growing and making products form pineapples.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features.
How pineapples are cultivated and prepared for multiple uses is shown in the diagram.
In general, the procedure commences from natural farming, taking place at around a year and
depending on size, pineapples can be eventually utilized to make juice, can goods, or export. Humans
and machines are both involved in the process.
As shown, pineapples require a temperature range of 28 to 30 degrees and a spacing of 26 cm between
two places in order to flourish. This particular fruit requires five months to attain its medium size and an
additional seven months with the aid of specific chemicals to reach its maxium size. A pineapple may
weigh 2 kilo and measure 30 centimeters in length when it was its last stage of cultivation.Pineapples are
first washes underwater and separated into three size categories before moving on to the next phase.
The small ones would be supplied to clients directly for domestic extracting of juice with no additional
industrial processing, whilst the medium ones would be cut into pieces and canned. The pineapple’s
crown and rind are removed throughout each of the aforementioned procedures. Nevertheless, with
those having the ideal size, they would go through another step of waxing before being packed into
crates and transported as export products by large ships.
Topic: An increase in production of consumer goods results in damage to the natural environment. What
are the causes and possible solutions.
Consumerism has brought a significant rise in goods produced annually, yet this has a detrimental effect
on the evironment. Massive volumes of trash poured into the ocean and severe deforestation appear to
the cause of the devastation. This essay will examine these issues in more detail while also outlining pratical solutions.
One important factor leading to natural damage is the large quantity of products wasted. Consumers of
today are offered a wide variety of choice regarding book; nevertheless, this only gives rise to (formal
phrase) their low life expectancy. A prime example of this is fashion, where fast fashion items appear to
be eciting to young persons for a brief period of time before being dumped in landfills after one or two
weeks. However, it has been estimated that the garment industry (ngành công nghi p may m ệ c) is ặ
responsible for a fifth of all trash on Earth, which is twice as much as the trasportation sector. This
purchasing habit (thói quen ng i tiêu dùng) could not be s ườ
topped or limited due to its close
relationship to economic growth. The author would propose additional practical options, including
encouraging clothing companies to use renewable resources to make their products, such as bamboo
and linen, and promoting thrift shopping (mua đôồ đã qua s d ử ng), which c ụ ould alleviate (formal -làm nhẹ đi) the situation.
In addition, more good produced require larger volumes of wood, resulting in more forest clearance (ch t cây). This, indisput ặ
ably (không còn bàn cãi), harms the evironment by negatively impacting the
photosynthesis process (quá trình quang h p) on Earth, whi ợ
ch worse air quality, as well as making
people vulnerable to natural disease. National records, show that mountainous residents face higher rish
of floods and landslides (bão lũ và s t l ạ
đâất) annually in light of (f ở ormal idiom – b i vì) for ở est clearance
for the goods industry. The authorities have a substantial impact on preventing this activity by enacting
harsher rules and penalizing companies that exploits forests with payouts (kho n tiêồn l ả n) in ex ớ change
for restoring their green spaces.
In conclusion, large quantities of product pose major risks to the environment due to overwhelming
amounts of trash and acute forent clearing. Along with the tougher rules and a larger budget for
compenation from businesses that abuse the woods, these problems should be addressed by persuading
customers to convert to clothing made of renewable materials or buy second-hand products.
Topic: The two bar charts illustrate how many boys and girls were in two levels of education in different parts of the world in 2000.
Overall, the percentage of the college-aged population was consistently lower than that of the school-
aged, with Europe making up the largest share in all four regions examined, while the figures for Sub-
Saharan Africa were by far the lowest.
Regarding secondary students, Europe accounted for 100% of schoolgirls and around 98% of schoolboys,
representing a mere 2% difference. A more significant gap can be seen in the figures for East Asia, which
were 60% for males and about 55% for females in this level of education. Another noteworthy feature is
that there was the same difference of 10% in the proportions of boys and girls attending secondary
school in Sub-Latin American, whose figures were 50% and 60%, and in Sub-Saharan Africa, which constituted 30% and 20%.
Looking at the college-aged, despite being the region with the highest university student rate, the
percentage of males and females in Europe pursuing tertiary education in 2000 was lower and saw a
wider gap than that of secondary, as only 60% of men and 70% of women reported studying in this
education level. Meanwhile, the figures for the remaining areas were even lower, with the highest share
seen in Latin America, at 20% for boys and 15% for girls, which were double the rates in East Asia. Lastly,
the share of college students in Sub-Saharan Africa was negligible, with a figure of less than 5% for both sexes.
Topic: Schools are no longer necessary because children can get so much information available through
the internet, and they can study just as well at home. To what extent . Do you agree or disagree
Faced with the swift development of the Internet, which comes along with the available of information
on virtual platforms, a section of people express a strong preference for homeschooling rather than a
formal one. This perception serves as a perspicuity on account of the straightforward access to online
educational articles and materials at any age; however, I lean toward the idea that, in addition to
knowledge, a comprehensive development is also contributed by numerous factors, including social
circles, which are offered by real school environmets.
Homeschooling has the potential to prosper if online platforms are adequately utilized. Firstly, since the
learning curriculum, as well as textbooks and course materials that are analogous to it, are easily
searchable on the Internet by individuals of the twenty-first century, children might recieve education
equivalent to those received in conventional schools if their parents are informed about and competent
in using these websites. This method appears to be economical since parents could save large budget for
tuition fees, school travel, and other unnecessary activities. Furthermore, given the unanticipated rise in
adolescent criminality, including bullying, drug use, and even gun fatalities, it is viewed as a safe
approach to rasing young children.
Nevertheless, despite the aforementioned reasons, agruments for the necessary of formal schools have
obviously surpassed them. First and foremost, while parents could teach children properly following the
online curriculum, they could not establish a community where children could interact with others their
age. This is indeed essential for a child’s normal development since they learn to initiate conversations,
recognize social signs, and form their first relationships other than with their parents. Lacking these
factors, their social skills could hardly develop. Beside, while some parents might have a fear that shool-
related offenses could impact their children, homekeeping is nothing better since it could result in many
other health problems related to mentality. In fact, during the COVID-19 epidemic, sustantial
