The diagram illustrates the various steps of the production of corn- based ethanol.
Overall, the making of this commodity is a piecemeal process of 8 steps commencing with the harvesting
and culminating with the complete products being delivered to gas station.
The process commences when corn is harvested and stored in warehouse, before is ready for milling.
During the milling stage, the corn is ground into a fine powder, which is then mixed with water in 4 hours.
Afterward, the mixture then goes through a fermentation stage that takes two days, and ethanol is
produced after this stage. After mixture,, the liquid ethanol is separated from the fermence mixture,
during which some some solid by-products are taken out. It takes 5 hours for the resulting ethanol to be
purified by having any impurities removed. Once the ethanol fuel is ready, it is stored before being
delivered to where it consumed,
