Young people can get into cybercrime Bài Hoàn chỉnh Intro + nêu topic statement
It’s that time of year again when people want to be scared by stories of ghosts, ghouls and
monsters! These stories can give us chills, but what about the real horrors that wait for us out there on the internet?
The dangers to youngsters who spend hours on end on their computer or tablet in their
bedroom are well documented and include health and social problems. However, one of the
most serious risks is that of breaking the law online by using their coding skills to develop
malware or get involved in other cyber criminality – either on their own behalf or working for criminal gangs.
Therefore our group decide to have a deeper discussion Khái niệm cybercrime
Cybercrime, also called computer crime, the use of a computer as an instrument to further
illegal ends, such as committing fraud, trafficking in child pornography and intellectual
property, stealing identities, or violating privacy. Cybercrime, especially through the , Internet
has grown in importance as the computer has become central to commerce, entertainment, and government.1

online shopping increased, and more. These conditions have created a fertile environment for
cybercriminals to grow their activity and increase their attack success. It's simple to steal
someone's identity or get into a bank account, and finding out where the information is stored
doesn't have to be difficult. Our youth is those who mostlty using computers and the Internet
and they may not understand the risks of giving out personal information on social media
sites, downloading unknown apps, or sharing too much personal information in chat rooms.
Cybercrime can be devastating and has the potential to ruin lives.2
They are affecting personally, socially/culturally and economically. They might face
psychological problems due to unauthorized access mailing, threatening by E-mail
pornography, warnings, rationally destroy data, complex in operating data and transmitting videos.
Sexting cases are also increasing day by day with the advancement in technology. Our youth
is mostly affected by it. Indecent pictures of children or younger got uploaded on the internet
and then both have to suffer. Young generation is easily involved in these types of crimes.
Due to this type of cheap actions, youth have to face many problems. It causes moral disorders.3

Young people can be the victims
One of the common techniques the criminals employ is that they attract cyber users by
making beautiful websites and sending false emails pretending to come from a bank or an
organization requesting personal information. It helps criminals to access one’s bank account
and personal information,; they damage their accounts and make new accounts .This type of
loss takes months or sometimes years to restore one’s personal information. People faced
cybercrimes due to unnecessary friend requests and messages, software piracy, viruses
attacks. They also faces trouble due to unauthorized access mailing, threatening by E-mail
pornography and transmitting videos. 4
Vilius Kardelis, PR manager at Atlas VPN, said: “Younger generations are more tech-savvy,
but they are also used to doing everything online, from interacting with friends to shopping

and managing financial activities from a young age. Such daily usage of the internet has
made them more accustomed to disclosing their personal information online, which
ultimately leads them to be less wary when engaging on the web.”5
Young people can be the chủ thể to commit cybercrime
Cybercrime is an attractive choice for some, with potentially large returns. Young people can
be particularly vulnerable targets; keen to make quick money 6
We know that cybercriminals are almost always seeking financial gain, but it seems that this
is not usually what young cybercriminals have in mind when they take their first steps over to
the “dark side”. For example, an interesting report by the UK’s National Crime Agency
(NCA) found that many are not necessarily motivated by financial reward. In fact,
recognition from their peers, popularity in the forums they belong to, and a sense of success,
are bigger influencing factors. “The sense of accomplishment at completing a challenge, and
proving oneself to peers are the main motivations for those involved in cyber criminality,” the
authors of the paper stated. As an example, the report includes the testimony given by an
18-year-old who was arrested for unauthorized access to a US government website. At the
time of his arrest he said: “I did it to impress the people in the hacking community, to show
them I had the skills to pull it off … I wanted to prove myself.”
Another factor that attracts them is the ease with which they can start launching attacks or
malicious activities. There are all kinds of tools available online which are neither expensive
nor difficult to use. We wwant to mention cybercrime business model, which consists in
selling packages of tools that can easily be used by anyone, even those with little technical
knowledge. Hence new phenomena like ransomware-as-a-service have appeared, offering the
sale of ransomware services and other forms of fraud, attacks, and malware “as a service”.
This means teenagers can pay a fixed price, and buy tools that will allow them to infect other
users relatively easily. An even easier way for beginners to get started, according to the NCA, 5

We agree that young generations …. Because Cybercrime is an attractive choice for some,
with potentially large returns. Young people can be particularly vulnerable targets; keen to
make quick money and sometimes confronted with the expense of further education. In
addition to this, the world of cybercrime represents a community to belong to and a way to feel powerful.
However, It is important to remember that an interest in hacking or cyber-based action are not
necessarily a bad one. Nurturing this interest and encouraging its use for pro-social purposes
could result in fantastic opportunities as a cybersecurity career in the future.
With teenagers, it is key to understand that removing technology from them and stigmatizing
their actions may not be the right approach. Focus on shifting their use of technology to
pro-social purposes and encourage their involvement in legitimate opportunities. This will
serve to benefit them in the long-term by praising and motivating them to achieve positive goals. about:blank 4/4
