Question 3 (1 mark). Briefly discuss the importance of studying management.
In today's world, no one can deny the important and great role of governance in ensuring the
existence and normal operation of socio-economic life. For the development of each unit or
community and even higher of the whole country, governance plays an even more important role.
The perception of the vast majority of the population about the role of governance so far has
mostly been through perception from reality. Want to raise awareness about the role of governance.
On the one hand, it is necessary to raise a fuller and deeper awareness of the role of governance, to
serve as a basis for understanding management and governance practice, and to raise the level of
governance.
Through the analysis of the causes of failure in business activities of individuals and
businesses, as well as failures in the operation of socio-economic organizations for many years, the
basic causes are still due to poor management. Studying American business companies for many
years, has found that companies are always successful as long as they are well managed. The Bank
Page 7 of 5
of the Americas stated in its Small Business Report release that "According to the final analysis,
more than 90% of business failures are due to incompetence and lack of management experience".
Question 4 (1 mark) . In a short essay, discuss the five stages of group development. Share
examples when you were in a group and your group has gone through these stages.
In fact, when we join a team to work on a project, we also go through these stages,
unconsciously without us realizing it. There are times when you feel tense, hostile and at odds
with other members of your team, or feel confused about the direction you're going. The process
of building and developing a team usually goes through 5 stages: Forming, Storming, Norming,
Performing, Adjourning. We will understand that these are the obvious things that will go through
to accomplish the common goal/project.
First, in the Forming stage, the group will be formed. The members added to the group will
be psychologically wondering how they fit in with others or how their abilities and skills compare
to others. They look for the team leader for clarity and direction.
Second, the Storming stage, which is a phase where factions are easy to arise, some
individuals use "many ways" to achieve the intentions and goals that each individual desires. If
this competition is professional, the group will develop well, because, after the competition, the
group will assign the "right person, right job" members. For example, my group in Economics
class suggested giving away CGV movie tickets to the best person. Some individuals began to
approach the team leader to get movie tickets when that movie ticket was supposed to go to a
better individual.
Third, this Norming stage is the stage of accepting each other's differences, the environment
changes. Members get to know each other on a deeper level, understanding each other's
personalities and abilities. In Group Economics class I had to change the methods to achieve the
goal to suit the new situation because the members showed new abilities and good ways to help
the group achieve the goal easier than other methods. previous law.
Fourth, the Performing stage has the formation of a hierarchy and position in the group. In
the Economics class group, each individual in my group had a proper "placement". Understanding
each other more deeply, getting used to the work, the coordination is more rhythmic, so the work
results are solved quickly, neatly, and with high efficiency.
Finally, the Adjourning phase is when the group's goals have been achieved. The whole
group overcomes difficulties to achieve the set goals. For example, after completing the business
strategy report on the restaurant business in Ho Chi Minh City in the Economics class, my group
together looked back at the activities in the past time, each individual drew a lesson for
themselves. learn new experiences.
In short, following this five-stage process, not every group will end up disbanding one after
the other. There are many groups after finishing at this level, they go back to the initial formation
stage to establish a new group with a more professional way of working, new rules are more
practical for the group characteristics at the time. at that time. The stages are not clearly divided
but progress according to the individual ability of each group.
