Hi guys, my name is Quynh Anh, and I will talk about closing. It includes three
parts: recommendation, inviting question, and sending a thank you. Now, let’s start
with recommendations. Besides pleasing the audience, the ultimate goal of a
presentation is to make the audience trust and feel useful to it. That means the
presenter must tell the audience how to apply the presentation to real life. And
recommendations will help presenters do that. They will provide listeners with
specific directions as well as useful advice. How do presenters create good
recommendations? There are three things we need to keep in mind: Firstly, be
clear: The main purpose of recommendations is to prompt an audience to take
those actions, and the best way to do this is to provide a clear action that you want
your audience to take. Secondly, specific: It means telling your audience exactly
what to do. Thirdly, simple: It’s normal for an audience’s attention to fade at the
end of a presentation. This is why it’s best to make recommendations as simple as
possible. Make sure it is concise and relevant to the content. Some sentence
patterns you can use are: So, I would suggest that we...; I would like to propose…;
In my opinion, the only way forward is…; I recommends…. Normally, to persuade
audiences to act on a proposal, presenters need to solicit feedback and action from
them at the end of the presentation. Ask audiences if they have any questions,
concerns, or other suggestions about the presentation content. We can invite
questions by using some sentence patterns: I would be glad to try and answer any
questions. So, let’s throw it open to questions. Any questions?; Does anyone here
have any questions to ask? Finally, don't forget to send a thanks to the audience. At
the end of the presentation, the presenter should thank everyone who listened
attentively and interacted during the time the speech took place. This is a courtesy
that all presentations require. It will show a grateful attitude, a progressive attitude,
and eagerness to learn from the speaker for those who have sincere suggestions or
comments for the presentation, as well as create more sympathy in the eyes of the
audience. Acknowledgments are also a sign that tells the audience that the
presentation has come to an end. We can send our thanks through: Thank you for
your attention; Thank you for listening; I hope you will have gained an insight into… about:blank 1/1
