The pie charts compare the proportion of electricity produced from five different energy resources in France in 1995 and 2005.
Overall, coal accounted for the largest proportion in both years, while nuclear accounted for the lowest percentage in the first year and became more popular after 1 decade.
In 1995, coal was the largest energy resource accounting for 40%, gas followed with 30%. Solar and wind produced 10% and 15% respectively, while nuclear only accounted with smallest part at only 5%.
In 2005, the percentage of coal energy decreased from 40% to 30% and gas also fell slightly to 25%. Notably, nuclear energy increased significantly 4 times compared to 1995 and reached at 20%. Meanwhile, solar energy rose from 10% to 15% and wind power dropped to 10%.
