1. Overview
Sustainable Fashion understood in a general way that is fashion and garment products
that do not create harmful impacts on the environment and economy, including from raw
materials to production, use, decomposition or Recycling. This means that the life cycle of a
shirt does not cause adverse effects on environmental or economic benefits. And that product is really green, friendly.
Sustainability here means being able to maintain long term. That is, a sustainable
fashion industry must be one that has the ability to operate for the long term, for years and decades to come.
In addition, sustainable fashion is also defined by the phrase "ethical fashion" which
means that garments are created without killing innocent animals or respecting human labor rights. 2. Character -
Input materials: Raw materials derived from nature -
Production process: Green production process, no harmful substances. -
Employees: Be treated civilly, enjoy social benefits. -
Professional ethics: Do not harm animals for clothing purposes. -
Use process: Use the product for a long time, don't buy it until you have done the math 30 times. - Recyclability: Recyclable -
Biodegradability: Garment products must be highly biodegradable.
Currently, the concept of sustainable fashion seems to be forgotten by the strong
development of Fast Fashion. Fast Fashion has caused the source of raw materials to be
exhausted because the purchasing or production takes place continuously to meet the needs of
the garment. These raw materials did not have time to regenerate as well as humans only
know how to destroy but not regenerate. 3. Temporary solution
Faced with this situation, in order to protect the environment, many fashion brands
have been looking for safer and more environmentally friendly materials to serve the fashion
industry and make them more sustainable. Besides, we need to be more aware of our
responsibilities: to preserve our clothes, to resell the clothes we rarely use, to limit the use of fast fashion.
Sustainable fashion is really a difficult problem to solve, because they include many
different factors, not just the supply of raw materials. For this reason, sustainable fashion has
not really been done in a complete and perfect way.
To solve this difficult problem is not an easy thing, we need to have more specific measures.
