1. Give an example following the planning process.
-Define your objectives: complete the deadline on time For instance
+ 8.5: Philosophy of Marxism and Leninism (Done) + 10.5: Math for business + 11.5: Critical Thinking + 12.5: Computing skills
-Determine where you stand vis-à-vis objectives:
Our groups completed the deadline for the Philosophy subject and we are going to prepare for the next ones.
We are reading the materials for the Math subject.
-Develop premises regarding future conditions:
+ We try to accomplish tasks 1 day earlier or as soon as possible
-Analyze alternatives and make a plan:
+ If there are any unexpected problems, we will have careful preparation. For example,
all members can discuss and make up for other each mistakes, or even if anyone in
groups has individual work and then cannot complete the deadline on time, the others will support them.
-Implement the plan & evaluate results:
For instance, on Tuesday we do research which is part of the Critical Thinking subject,
and lists important parts. After that, we divide equally for all members. If we follow the
timeline, we will complete it successfully. CONTROLLING:
Step 1: establish performance& objectives& standards
To avoid doing homework overtime, the leader has to divide the equally workload for
each member. Therefore, individuals can research owner work and have their opinions
or even the complete answers for this teamwork.
For example, in Critical Thinking subjects:
-Thao Nhi was the leader. She would skim the content in general in order to divide work
for group members. After all, members completed the content, she reviewed it again to
ensure fulfillment before submitting it to the professor. In addition, she might ask for
other answers or points of view about this content.
-Anh Thu was responsible for body 3 of the essay. She would ask for her body 3 feedback
to adjust her answer correctly.
-Yen Nhi is responsible for the introduction and conclusion of the essay. To make sure
that she was doing it in the right way, she should research the background information,
and also the content of the lecture.
Step 2: Measure actual performance:
Since students cannot entirely acknowledge the lecture, they might achieve about 50-
60% accomplishment including getting the information from the materials and other resources.
Step 3: Compare actual performance with objectives& standards:
Following our plan, we will finish between 10 p.m and 11 p.m. However, when we divide
teamwork (7 pm), the workload is too over to deal with within 3 hours. Although we
read the materials first, we just get knowledge about 50-60%. Therefore, it is slower
than we predict. We finish the project at 12.30 am.
Step 4: Take necessary action:
2. Which step is the most challenging for you? Why?
In my opinion, implementing the plan & evaluating results is the most difficult part since we
have to cope with unexpected possibilities and even if we do not have the preparation for it.
In addition, the results sometimes cannot be predicted.
