SHOPEE’S RECRUITMENT METHODS
Shopee uses the support of Applicant Tracking System (ATS) called
Greenhouse software with search and resource management and recruitment
process management. Shopee’s recruitment applicant tracking system that stores
applicants’ data and hiring status, to know the current headcounts and candidates’
recruitment stages. Applicants will be automatically updated to the system, creating a
rich and quality profile source. Screening candidates based on job descriptions and
requirements such as the number of years of experience, skills, schools enrolled as
well as the old company (depending on the criteria set by the employer). The
unsuitable candidates will be eliminated. The rest of the candidates will be ranked.
Employers can choose the appropriate candidate accordingly. Shopee's recruitment

What is GMAT Data Sufficency? The Graduate Management Admission Test
(GMAT) is a standardized exam often used for admission to graduate business
schools and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. The exam,
administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), measures
analytical and critical thinking skills that are commonly necessary for success in graduate business programs.
What is Numerical Reasoning? A numerical reasoning test is a psychometric
assessment that measures a candidate’s numerical aptitude and their ability to
interpret, analyse and draw conclusions from data sets. The test is usually timed with
multiple-choice questions based on charts, tables or graphs.
What is Logical Reasoning? Logical reasoning is a type of problem-solving
that involves working through a set of rules that govern a scenario. This set of rules
or steps is referred to as an algorithm. Logical reasoning involves testing different
sets of steps - or algorithms - to determine which sequence of rules leads to the correct solution.
Why do we have to do an exam in this round? The first round, especially the
written assensments, will help the employer know who has a high qualification and
critical thinking. Also, it tests whether you have the ability to effectively evaluate
information and make smart decisions. When answering such questions, you want to
provide respones that show you’re an innovative and thoughtful candidate.
─ Round 2 - HR Interview
Candidates will be invited to a 1:1 competency-based interview with recruiter, where
recruiter can find motivations and culture-fit of candidates.
What is Cultural fit? First of all, cultural fit means a synchronization - a harmony -
between the interviewee and the company’s values as a whole. Employees who get
cultural fit hiring right are those who understand that business needs a mix of people.
A company full of clones doesn’t equate to good culture.
During an interview, interviewers are likely to ask interviewees questions that assess
their cultural fit. Some questions that interviewers can ask:
What attributes do you look for in a company when applying for a position?
What do you think this role could look like in 5 years?
How would you describe our company culture?
Which company do you think is currently nailing it in your field of expertise? ...
Why do we have to answer these questons? It is simply because it’s help both of the
interviewee and the interviewer can contract and understand adversary. For the
interviewee, they can know about staff benefit, company rules, safety regulations,...
Furthermore, they can also ask the interviewer to know specifically about the company. On the other
hand, for the interviewer, besides the cultural fit and job relations, they can also
assess attitudes and behavior of the candidate.
─ Round 3 - Interview with Business Manager
Candidates have an interview with business manager to assess their problem-
solving skills and business acumen.
For this round, the Employer will divide the candidates into Groupor teams to
evaluate the candidates' teamwork skills, their ability to present problems logically,
and then pick out the best interviewees. Candidates will participate in an online
interview on Zoom software. Each group will have an HR observing the team process.
