installing the cooling system on the roof is too expensive, is that right?
B: Yes. And it’s a new technology that has never been tried before. I don’t want to take any
risks. This is a major project. It has to run smoothly.
A: I understood. I can compromise on the cost of maintenance and have it done for free for
2 years for you, so you don’t have to worry about it. There is a guarantee that goes along
with the maintenance contract that ensures a 99% availability of the system 365 days a year.
B: I sounds great on paper. What about the installation fee? It’s pretty high, would you
consider making a concession on this point?
A: I understand the installation fee is an issue. If we can agree on that, is there anything
else you would like to discuss?
B: Yes. The last time we signed a construction contract, we had to change our plans 1 month
before the grand opening, which had a huge impact on total costs. Are there any ways you
can help us deal with the local authorities?
A: I think we can handle this. But as you know dealing with local regulations to get the
paperwork signed and approved in time will incur extra cost for us. This is a trade-off to
consider: lower installation fees or taking care of the local paperwork on your behalf
