Some people think that traditional culture are destroyed when people use it as a tool to make money
from visitors. Others argue that it is the only way to preserve traditions. In this essay, I will discuss both
views and give my own opinion
On the one hand, there are various reasons why making money from traditional culture is the way to
protect them .Firstly,, money made from cultural traditions such as: selling souvenirs coul be invested in
the preservation of such traditions. For example, people in Bat Trang sell ceramic goods to continue this
tradition. Secondly, by building museums and galleries which display cultural traditions, the government
can protect such traditions without destroying them
On the other hand, making money from tourists by traditional cultures has many downsides. Many
traditions are modified for commercialization, instead of organizng traditional parties as before, citizens
just focus on selling products, therefore, traditional cultures lose their authenticity and value. Moreover,
because of the lack of knowledge of the country traditions and only be attracted by the items, many
traditional sities are ruined by irresponsible visitors
In conclusion, although using cultural traditions as money making attractions brings many advantages,I
believe that the drawbacks outweigh the benefits
