During the reception for the Governor of Hessen at Headquarter of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs on 04/10/2012, Minister Pham Binh Minh welcomed the visit of Mr.
Volker Bouffier to Vietnam and highly appreciated the prior interest in active promotion
of the relation with Vietnam of the Hessen State authorities in general and the Governor
in particular, asserted that in the framework the stragetic partnership with Germany,
Vietnam always respects the co-operation with Hessen State and considered it as a new
type of co-operation between Vietnam and German localities.
The Governor of Hessen State expressed his pleasure of his first visit to Vietnam and in
his witnessing, the social- economic achievement that Vietnam had recorded in the past.
He believed that Vietnam would become one of the most dynamic economies in ASEAN
region; Vietnam and Germany had a lot of potential and strength to support each other.
The two sides appreciated the very active development of the co-operation between
Vietnam and Hessen State, especially in economics, trade, investment and education.
However, the two sides believed that there were more potentials and opportunities to co-
operate more effectively, especially in in the field that Hessen had strength and Vietnam
needed such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, mechanics, automotive, finance- banking.
The two sides agreed to create conditions for business investment and business
advantages in markets. Minister Pham Binh Minh offered The Governor of Hessen state
to continue encourage and support State’ business to invest in Vietnam. Hessen State
Governor expess his desire to have more Vietnamese business to choose Hessen State as
a destination to invest and trade in the future. Hessen affirmed that it will continue to
support VietNam’s project to develop Vietnam - Germany University become a typical
university with high class in area.This is the priority project of two countries about
training and education was initated by Hessen. Hessen also commits supporting VietNam
about training in order to provide good quality of human resourses for VietNam and
Germany’ firms.
