WRITING 1 TYPE 2 – MAP QUESTION HW
The two maps demonstrate the transformation of Colwick Art Centre
between 2005 and today. Looking at the picture, it is clear that many
changes have taken place in the Centre, including new buildings and
areas.
The most obvious change is that the wasteland is now turns into an
outdoor exhibition and performance area with a stage in the middle and
trees around it. The information desk is the only thing that remains still.
In 2005, there was a building of the concert hall and cinema in the
middle, whereas now, the new area called central exhibition is there and
the concert hall and the cinema are now two areas, seperately in the right
and opposite the exhibition. The toilet is smaller compared to the old
toilet in 2005, it is also relocate to the right, next to the concert hall.
In the right, there used to be two galleries but now, there is just one big
gallery in the left of the Art Centre. Also, the snack bar was demolished
but they have a cafeteria instead, next to the gallery. They also built two
new small meeting rooms and a drama studio in the top left - hand
corner.
In conclusion, there are many magnificent improvements of the Colwick
Art Centre from 2005 until today, it is now larger and more diverse than
it was.
